I create handmade, high quality wood pieces (and sometimes, crafts using other mediums such as natural stone or acrylic) that connect to people on an emotional level. Each piece is meticulously designed to look and feel like an art piece. I have always adored art, and have an underlining mission to incorporate my knowledge and skills into wood turning. With my videos, I hope to inspire and encourage others while promoting wood turning, experimentation, and safety. Please stay safe at all times!

That’s lovely. The grain is outstanding. Love the shape of the base too. Excellent.
David Charleson Hi David, I agree mango wood has a cool grain. Highly recommend to other turners. Thank you!
Nice design features; i.e. same angles, same heights. The kingwood really pops! Beautiful contrast! -Mike

Lee Hi Lee, as always, thank you my friend!
Mango. Never turned it. However, I put it in my vodka all the time. Is that the same mango?
Roger Dale Scott Hey Roger, this was my first time trying Mango wood, and I like it. It is the same mango that produces the fruit. It’s a highly sustainable wood I’ve read and I love the fruit as well. Lol My wood supplier just got some in for the first time and I figured I give it a try. Thanks for watching!
You kind of rushed over the embellishments. Thats was the part I'd like to know more about.
Harold Golden Hi Harold, sorry! I try hard to keep the videos short, but Have a ton of info to explain. I’ve received many comments on videos that are too long, so in general I’ve been cutting down on the videos. If you want to know anything about the embellishments, let me know, happy to answer your questions. Thanks for watching and commenting. It helps me to improve my videos, I appreciate it. Take care -Speros
“No wax sanding paste”. Can you elaborate? Homemade or commercial product? Brand? Oil based? Enquiring minds want to know!
Valerie Henschel Hi Valerie, I didn’t use any wax or paste, only a friction polish which is a home brew. It’s the same friction polish I use in several videos: a 1 to 1 ratio. One part boiled linseed oil (BLO), one part denatured alcohol, and one part dewaxed shellac. The shellac is a about a 3 pound cut. This is historically called French polishing and has been used for hundreds of years on furniture. It’s not the most durable, but it shines nicely and is easy to repair and use. I only use it on pieces that won’t be handled a lot. You can also use it as a base coat once the BLO has cured. Though, they say it’s good safe, I don’t use on food contact items, I don’t chance it because of the BLO and the garbage that’s out in the alcohol. Just to be on the safer side. Hope that helps, and next time I will mention in the video. Thank you! take care!
SP Wood Art Ah, my mistake! Thought you said sanding paste, not friction polish. Guess I should have listened better!
Valerie Henschel no worries at all, take care!
@@spwoodart It's also my goto finish. I buy dewaxed shellac flakes by the pounds and the alcohol by the gallons. Use it for everything.
Roger Dale Scott Nice, it’s a great finish. I really like the easy of use. I do use different versions at times, as changing the base oil. I sometimes use polyurethane in place of boiled linseed oil, tung oil, etc. thank you!
