Unfortunately all the players the Lakers gave a 2nd year player's option contract last summer have opted in. Something Pelinka probably didn't give much thought to, and is now handcuffed.
@@dmitryowens Sure, & these players would have been traded if other teams were interested. Name one team that wants Christian Wood & his 4(?)million dollar contract.
@rogers6168 Christian Wood is on a veteran minimum contract - not sure if that's 4 mil or less. And I'd say every team would want him for that price - he's a solid role playing big man who could easily average 10/6 in 20 min on efficient shooting (48 to 50%+ FG). The Lakers just probably haven't tried to package him, Hayes and/or Vincent in a deal yet.

No way pelinka cooks anything but a brick. He has no fire to cook the raw and rotting meat on the grill going on year 5 now. To top it off, he has no spice to improve the meat nor condiments. Lakers aren’t close to the pistons but they sure as hell are way out of the Celtics league and probably at this point the Sacramento kings as well. Jeanie is bringing it on herself and the franchise. She knew money and that was it. She has trusted the wrong people from inept Johnson, the rambis twins, p jax and pelinka. Franchise is a joke now and only 1 way to get back to where they were.

He's not worth a qtr of that Because no matter how good he is, he will never win a championship and as long as he is on your team, you are not a contender Same thing goes for Chris, Paul and James Harden
@LN-Lifer I don't make absolutist statements like that - Paul George is a very good player and it's as possible to win a championship with him on a team as it is with any other good player - I just don't think he's worth a max at this age since he probably only has one or two more good years left. I'd give him a 3 year contract at 25 mil the first season, 18 or 20 mil the second and 15 mil the third, or a 2 year deal at 25 the first year and 18 or 20 the second.
When was Klay Thompson ever a good defender? He and the Warriors were always known for their offense, not defense. And good luck on him getting many shot attempts playing with those major ballhogs Luka and Kyrie - he could be wide open for a corner 3 and Luka will just look him off and try to shoot over 3 defenders 😄
@user-gy6hd7qx7x As I said, the Warriors were never known as a defensive team - they were known as an offensive team, hence why Curry and Klay were nicknamed The Splash Brothers. I'm sure Klay was a decent defender in his prime, but not a lockdown defender or All-Defensive First Team candidate. Draymond Green is the only Warriors player who I've heard mentioned as playing above average defense.
@@mescudi971 I agree but a 40 year old lebron and trading picks for upgrades going set us back like never before. No stars coming to LA just because we’re purple and gold anymore

Free Agency is like reshuffling the deck. My first year of paying it attention even a little.
Aloha Trevor from Honolulu .
Even the best rebounder STILL available helps THIS team all but a relative few of all the players in the entire league

You have 20 roster spots in offseason and you can easily waive them too
So what? Any of them can still be traded.

The Celtics are selling because the family knows now is the time to provide for future generations wealth.
Jerami grant is worth it cant alway save for next year while at the same time saying youre all in. Lakers should be very aggressive to get grant
Drummond would be perfect for the Knicks.

No, but it sounds like you should be based on that dumb comment.
So much for KLAyBron

Ill take MB over DD but I will take the best rebounder still available over both of them
Why couldn't the Lakers trade for Dorian Finney and Denis s to clear space and sign batun and kelly oubre
Maybe because none of those players are very good other than Schroder and maybe Oubre.
