This is Daniel's doing, couldn't beat Yuki, wouldn't even be racing this year if it wasn't for RB, but I wish they could have given him one more race in Austin, his favorite race with a proper send-off.
Left McLaren on his own terms 🤔🤔 he was paid to go away to put Oscar in the seat. These kinds of false narratives only encourage mis information and silly opinions with casual/DTS fans. If Daniel had the personality of lance stroll people would have been calling for his exit and not defending him for years.
exactly. people forget that he lost his mojo when he left Redbull because they didn't give him the status he deserved back then. Max indirectly killed him. Horner finished the job by giving his trust to Max. after that, he was not the same. he's a driver that needs to be desired to perform. if he's not, nothing will happen.
What a load of bollix... I stopped watching when I heard this. Daniel's solicitors may have gotten him a sweet 18 million "terms" but this is clearly not how any F1 driver would want to end their tenure with a team. A few month later he's got the gig at RB where he achieved very little except making Tsunoda look good. But to be honest, RB is the last team where a driver wants to see out the twilight of their career.
No. Perez sells merch. That's all RB cares about. People were saying "This is a message to Perez" when they fired De Vries...and then Checo proceeded to miss Q2 in most of the qualy sessions. There is no message to Perez apart from "Keep selling merch."
Ricciardo had his spell of success when Vettel sulked because of the then new hybrid rules and Ricciardo - against expectations - beat him soundly. Other than that, as far as the racing goes Ricciardo has generally just made up the numbers. He did get a lucky win with McLaren, but even they paid him NOT to drive for them in their final season together! And remember his time in a still very competitive Red Bull ended because he ran scared of Verstappen. Nobody pushed him, he didn't want to be compared to Max so he jumped. Ricciardo has a lovely smile which will continue to make him wealthy. People who watch Netflix tell me he has a great personality, but a competitive F1 racer he's not, and hasn't been for a long time. I watch Formula 1 for the racing, he adds nothing to it and we should not be sad if he loses his drive. There are plenty more exciting drivers currently on the grid with many competitive cars, F1 is enjoying a purple patch. We should be celebrating F1, not commiserating the loss of a driver past his sell-by date.
He didn't run, hohner prefered above him verstappen and Ric didn't appreciate the fact that all the attention was directed towards the latter, hence his pride took a hit and left though I agree with you, I think he should have stayed he was able to challenge the over-sized ego of verstappen
It's rare to have such a great talent with such a great personality. He deserved a better ending, but he has already accomplished more than we could dream in 10 lifetimes. Best Wishes Daniel Riccardo !
The old you has been missed for a while. For me, I felt for you and the way things ended. Hope you find other ways to race. INDY!!!! We love to see you race here!!!
Boys, the RB car seems sooo inconsistent to me, do you think this is wise 🤔 of Lawson to gamble his career prospects on a rubbish car? If he cant drive around not only yuki but a tail end car too,he could be finnished forever! 😮😊😊😊
The car has the same engine as the A-team Red Bull and many of the same parts, but most of the RB "upgrades" only make it perform worse. RB strategy calls have been rubbish too. I'm surprised Red Bull tolerate such a sub-standard junior team.
Happy as a clam Liam is getting his shot but part of me is still sad for how things unfolded following Daniel’s departure from Red Bull. He never should have initially left, but we all know why. Hi Max! 🙋🏻♂️😉
Ricciardo should be kept on for pr and race in the red bull team in v8 Supercars in Australia on the point front I think that the entire field of classification should be able to earn points then every finishing position counts. With the points system and component restrictions there are if you’re not in the points you may as well park up and sit it out you’re only spending money
Lawson basically vindicated RB's decision to fire Ricciardo! Imagine that, Ricciardo has now been fired twice from two different teams, and Both Piastri and Lawson have confirmed why Ricciardo should have been fired
Let’s see if Visa have a say in all this. After all Dan is why they sponsored them in the 1st place. Let’s hope they don’t decide to leave them. 🧐🧐🧐🤦♂️🤦♂️remember it’s a money game these days 👍
I've been a Danny Ric fan from day 1, but to be honest, the fastest lap has lost its prestige in the current F1 era when the driver pits towards the end of a race just to claim it.
The writing was on the wall for ric months ago..he wishes he had a time machine to go back to RB..he might have snagged a WDC if he had just stayed there.
Redbull are a little slow on their feet, Checo is in a extended slump, they should have already gotten Lawson into Checo's seat, especially after his 5 race performance in 2023. If Checo's sponsors are blocking it, so be it, meantime other teams are pushing forwards, not good for Redbull.
Some of these comments are pretty funny. Ricciardo has done plenty in F1, certainly more than Stroll, Hulkenberg, Albon and Gasly. and let's not forget he's won more races than Carlos Sainz, and 75% of the other drivers on the grid. Lawson was due, but to be fair he wasn't amazing last year - 13, 11, 9, 11, 17. So yep, DR is ready to go, even though he has outscored Yuki in the second half, but don't delude yourself that he didn't deserve to be there. The guy made some bad career moves, but is a stellar driver. Maybe check out Lawson's career, there are better in the wings
The personal differences and disfunction at Red Bull did not need to result in treating one of your best drivers in this way. Personally I think Red Bull should be punished commercially for this, boycott Red Bull products and stop supporting their F1 and other teams. Same for RB team’s main donor Visa and Visa Cash app. Hit them where they only care and that’s the $$ bottom line 😊.
As a team Red Bull are the worst managed in the paddock. No other team has managed there second drivers so consistently poorly and thoroughly deserve to be where they are. I hope they don't mess Lawson about as the have Ricciardo etc
Like sand through the hourglass……. What a drama fest, let me go get in my pajamas and we can get together and gossip. Let’s drink wine and do our nails too! Take these guys man card STAT!
I’m happy for Liam Lawson! It’s time for the young generation to get a chance 🎉
This is Daniel's doing, couldn't beat Yuki, wouldn't even be racing this year if it wasn't for RB, but I wish they could have given him one more race in Austin, his favorite race with a proper send-off.
Was a piss poor way of announcing it. Why didn't they announce it before the Singapore weekend?

As nice as RIC may be, it was past time to move on and LAW was and is the best choice!
Time will tell. Lawson got to beat tsunoda now
Liam Lawson already proved that he is very good driver and he deserves chance and finally become regular AplhaTauri driver
It doesn’t really matter because the VCARB car has gone backwards.
This is a message to Perez. RB is telling him also that no driver is indispensable.
No. Perez sells merch. That's all RB cares about. People were saying "This is a message to Perez" when they fired De Vries...and then Checo proceeded to miss Q2 in most of the qualy sessions. There is no message to Perez apart from "Keep selling merch."

Very harsh but fair point. F1 is a ruthless playground.

This is all part of a bigger plan to see if Lawson can replace Perez

They should have given him a proper send off. No respect for his fans or for Danny. Very weird
He never stepped up to the challenge.. neither for himself or his fans. He came back and didn't put in the necessary work to be a winner.
Happy as a clam Liam is getting his shot but part of me is still sad for how things unfolded following Daniel’s departure from Red Bull. He never should have initially left, but we all know why. Hi Max! 🙋🏻♂️😉
You nailed the Daniel Riccardo synopsis Ben. His focus has been elsewhere and not on his race craft.
Well deserved. Lets hope hes quick.

The shitty part of this is no Honey badger in Texas . He was so much fun. This sucks!
RB have done RIC dirty.

Well they made for a horrible name sponsor.
He wasn't doing himself any favours by staying at RB.
I've been a Danny Ric fan from day 1, but to be honest, the fastest lap has lost its prestige in the current F1 era when the driver pits towards the end of a race just to claim it.
I can see Daniel going to WEC.

12:25 famous last words
I truly believe Daniels exit was Drive to Survive related.
"Perez was a bit unlucky in Baku"? He crashed into Sainz on purpose. He could easily have backed out or given space.
People are going to see that VCARB is a mess and that DR should have been tested in Perez’s car for at least 6 races.
Setting fastest lap in your last race is ironic if you are getting fired for performance.
Some of these comments are pretty funny. Checo should be kicked next.
Dan never should have been in a car for 2024 to begin with.

What’s this silly “AKA” stuff on every intro? AKA “xxxxx” by who? Other than your silly internal office banter 😂🤮
Well.. after "33" months ofcause the change must come. But why not "19"😂.
Really disrespectful from Redbull. They really couldn't wait until next season to get Lawson in?
Clause in the contract maybe
