A true whiskey man. One of the biggest impacts on bourbon of any man. I’m just a little ole home distiller, What I wouldn’t give for 60 seconds of that man’s time.
The only real distinction important to me is the one between Bourbon, which is made all over the world, and TN Whiskey, which is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before going to the barrels. It's more mellow to me.
There is actually some misinformation in this video. While it is true that Bourbon cannot have added flavor or coloring, the Lincoln county Process does not fall under this category. As a matter of fact several bourbons also use the Lincoln county process. Jack Daniels simply chooses to not market itself as bourbon as Tennessee Whiskey is a stricter definition, though it technically qualifies. There also is no Federal legal definition for Tennessee Whiskey.
+John “ÆbsintheDreams” Vavryshko So, what you're saying is that the master distiller at Beam doesn't know what makes bourbon different than other whiskies?

John is absolutely correct, and he didn't say, or imply, that the master distiller at Jim Beam doesn't know what makes bourbon different than other whiskies. What the master distiller at Jim Beam seems to not know is two things which really have nothing to do with his particular job: (1) the US government bureau that officially classifies American whiskey -- the Trade and Tax Bureau (TTB) -- classifies "Tennessee Whiskey" as "bourbon," and it does so because (2) the TTB takes the position that the Lincoln County process does not ADD anything to distilled spirit, but only SUBTRACTS certain things from spirit, therefore the Lincoln County process does not violate the prohibition against putting "additives" in bourbon.
@@hankpowell761 Jack Daniels is to sweet. Plus I had a bad experience with JD. When I was 17 I drank a whole bottle of Jack Daniels in 3 minutes. I ended up in hospital throwing up.
Subject of Fred's story. making whiskey great again.

Sounds like the guy who lost the $50 bet!!!!
So.... name the "several bourbons" names, so I can avoid them...?
Love Jim Beam. Let me tell it is much better than Jacks

Sold out to suntory tho
Not a sellout, more like complemented. To great whiskey distilleries merging just makes them better. My two favorite whiskey makers.
