honestly Ann is good against bosses and not much else. in my NG+ playthroughs I used her for bosses and only Yusuke for palace infiltration since he's got physical attacks and elemental and more things are weak to ice than fire also a tip for Caroline & Justine: each time you create a fusion they request, register it right after. once you do this then you can just pull it back out of the compendium on NG+. I've done this and the same day they gave me the assignment I'd completed it so it was the earliest maxed confidant in my NG+ playthroughs

With the fortune arcana even though you have to spend 100,000 yen for the luck stone, Chihaya will eventually reimburse you when you're close to maxing out her confidant.
I feel Sojiro is more useful for getting SP items, I mean makin coffee can get you two SP items for free, increase your charm, and your social rank with Sojiro.
I fully agree! The SP restoration makes Takemi one of the best confidants, as allows you not to waste part of a day by cooking curry and other things. 7 SP only sounds "low", but in fact it brings incredible numbers when you sum each turn (and if you also use physical spells... Miracle punch...) But for that you have to look what the game you play shows you. And it's may be difficult to see when it your first playthrough.

AS of now, I'm in the progress of playing through Royal. And I'm close to finishing the entire game with maxed confidants and the third semester included. It's a little bit of a shame, too, considering his abilities are insane especially in P5R (he gives you Down Shot, which downs an enemy regardless of weakness/resistance, he lets you use guns in negotiations to get better stuff (which brings back some of the stuff from mainline SMT, such as certain demons being able to let you be more aggressive in negotiations), and the ability to make your gun ignore resistances.)
Hifumi should be *M U C H* higher on the list. Here are the reasons: • Her Party switching perks automatically give you the strategic upper hand in any battle in the game. Moreover, it's a tie breaker in boss fights (especially in late game) and saves a lot of planning. • Her escape perks can get you out of really tough spots. On higher difficulties one wrong battle surrounded and it's game over, but if Hifumi's confidant is high enough then you always have a way out. • She's your lifeline if you attempt the reaper and she's what turns him from a challenge to an EXP farm opportunity. Trying to defeat him without her perks is like playing a survival horror game, but once you have them and the flu season begins, then don't fear the reaper. The reaper should fear you :) • The star personas are surprisingly powerful and the one you must max her to unlock is arguably the strongest persona in the game excluding the one only available in NG+. And to be clear - no, I didn't romance her 😂
Lol I'm still a kid and I'm playing this game, the confidants got harder for me in my second playthrough since I missed 25% of the confidants in my first one. Since I'm 50% in my trophy level of Persona 5, I'm going to get grinding off my confidants but as of right now I'll leave Shinya and Haru for last.
Me in Royal: *gets proficiency maxed first* Sooo, I kinda went a little crazy on the tools in my first run (And I still haven't gotten knowledge maxed yet at the moment)
5:48 Thankfully Royal fixed this and made you have 2 options at first: More power or accuracy. And later down the confidant you get more options then those 2 (Same goes for guns overall in Royal)
You know how you said you only put 2 levels into Yoshida’s confidant? Well, that’s more then me because I didn’t even realise he was a confidant until I was a day or two away from the final boss of the game when I watched a video of two people doing one of those letter rankings of nearly every character in the game
Dude I royally screwed myself because I thought that if it said your bond wouldn’t deepen you just had to wait. So I go through three quarters of the game with everyone at rank 2
I'm not trying to be rude to you, but it really grind my gears when you say to wait for the new game + to complete confidants. IT IS REALLY possible to max out all social stats and complete all social links in a single playthrough (in my case I did it in my first playthrough in both P5 and P5R). In my opinion, you always have to try to complete all the SLs and all the social stats in a single game, even if you can't completed. I agree to prioritize confidants similarly to the order in the list, but for me, the phantom thief should be the number 1 priority to complete your confidant, not just for the benefits (which I agree with for the list) , but more important, for the second persona. It is the most important benefit of all of them because they make it much easier to explore palaces, and is important for unlock the 3 tier persona on Royal
haru is quite broken imo on hard especially with the reduced damage and the need to grind a bit more. her existence makes one-daying the last few palaces a JOKE instead of requiring insanely careful resource management or abusing invigorate 3 which just takes forever also triple down
I find Ohya pretty useful because sometimes the hide mechanic messes up and forces me out of hiding right in front of an enemy which results in me getting surrounded. also here's another reason why Caroline and Justine are a pain in the ass: not knowing what you're doing. With that I mean that you won't know what the exact personas you need to fuse another are, leading you to possibly be locked out of the confidant if you're too OP to get what you need and just one shot it. I'm just after the 5th palace and I can't get to rank 4 because I can't get the weird bird thing anymore because level.
the absolue slaughter and butchering of all these names hurts. you looked those voice actors in the eyes and said “i have never heard any pronunciation of these names”
You know the mass majority of them are voice acted right? I would know for sure if I got it right unless you're saying that the English version gets it wrong.
But if u get death confidant rank2 early she call all the time u can easily get her to lv 7 while not losing out on anything before 3rd palace actually helps a lot if u have the money
Not to mention that Hifumi needs to be maxed out in order to unlock a fusion that is required to make Satanael. I was able to finally unlock Satanael on my third playthrough of the game.
1st playthrough: I romance Haru. You guys always seem to have trouble don't you? I beat Akechi and I almost cried. I almost cried when Haru wanted to go out with me. I almost cried when I beat Yaldabaoth I finally beat the game And beat the story of royal with: 89% of ps achievements 44% thieves den achievements Secret palace complete 15/23 confidants maxed Love Royal
idk man, if any Male characters make men challenge their heterosexuality it's Akechi or Iwai. If you wanna challenge male heterosexuality go to p4 (maruki from royal also better looking than Yusuke)
Why do people hate haru SP items are still useful especially in the late game and I feel like I used cards more then most people so Yusuke had a much more useful reward im also an artist and yusuke is my favorite phantom thief because of that so I guess that is why I used him more
I will have to correct your pronunciation on some. _Moon-a-he-sa E-why _Haru doesn’t have a pause after ‘Ha’ _He-fu-me toh-go Also, I’d argue that Party members should be a lot higher, as baton pass is absolutely needed. Part of the reason I didn’t use Haru at all after I got a psycokenesis persona was that I missed her confidant. Plus, Takemi should be top priority early on, as her SP items are an absolute lifesaver first time around.
BTW the Hanged Man is pronounced Moo-nae-hee-sa Ee-wa-ee I still think Yoshida's perks are useless. Negotiating with Shadow is super easy and money problem is easily solved with Pulinpa on bosses. Even more so in Royal, because they changed how Ryuji's insta kills works
I didn’t even unlock yoshida,oda, or Kawakami during my first play thhrough soo I was infuriated when I saw what perks I missed. Needless to say I completed them (kawa and yoshida)
abilities don't. you start back at level 1 and only certain things carry over: money gained from the previous playthrough, the compendium, some items like the goodbye gifts you get from confidants on your last day, and the weapons you used can be rebought from the Airsoft shop. the rest has to be redone from the beginning with only a few perks
@@personafanatic4597 I am sure that if you start a confidant again certain abilities of that confidant are available immediately like temperance you get her best ability first I am not asking if they do or they don't I am asking what confidant abilities carry over when you restart them since I already know her abilities I just need to know for everyone else
Okay so I’m pretty new to the Persona franchise wtf does new game plus mean? When you start a new game? I’ve heard it a few times but haven’t understood what it is.
A New Game + in a video game is when you start a New Game on a completed file, and carry over some content that you've completed or collected from your completed file. In the case of Persona 5, the whole game runs on a Calendar. Once you get to the end of the story, that's it. You can't play anymore on that file. Starting New Game + will carry over some stuff from your old file such as: - The amount of money you have by the end of your old file - All the weapons, guns, protectors, and badges you carry. - Any gifts from your romantic dates or maxed out confidants - All skill cards and blank cards - The personas you've obtained on your Persona Compendium - Your social stats Meaning, a lot of the progress you made in your previous playthrough will no longer have to be grinded for as much. And while it is possible to max out all social stats and confidants on your first playthrough, it's almost impossible for the first time player unless you know every single opportunity of leveling up your stats and ranks the most efficient way as possible that you will learn over the course of your first playthrough. The gifts from your maxed out confidants are the MOST essential items in guaranteeing a 100% completion on your second playthrough. When doing New Game +, you won't have the personas or levels with your characters you once had. So any weapons, money, or confidants gifts you gain will offer you a huge advantage in your second playthrough. And if you have a certain confidant's gift, that gift is put into effect the moment you get rank 1 from that confidant. But New Game + doesn't offer just a chance to 100% everything. There's one challenge and trophy that you cannot get called the "Beyond Rehabilitation" trophy that is only possible to initiate on New Game + with Caroline and Justine in Mementos. Many people consider a true 100% completion as gaining all trophies in the game (platinum trophy included) and having all confidant gifts (romantic ones are not essential). While it's possible to complete everything on your first playthrough (except for the Beyond Rehabilitation trophy), don't worry if you don't get it all on your first playthrough. New Game + is there is guarantee you get a 100% completion. Maxing out all confidants, maxing all social stats, reading all books, crafting every infiltration tool, beating every retro video game, obtaining every single persona, customizing a gun, catching a particular fish when you go fishing, buying every drink from the vending machines at least once, unlocking all hangout spots, etc. Beating the game on a higher difficulty does not offer anything, so just keep the difficulty on normal to save you on getting headaches. You're always welcome to use this video or any sources you find online to help you beat this game more efficiently. So if you're still going through your first playthrough, max out as many confidants as possible! Especially some of the top ones I mention in this video so your New Game + playthrough is more efficient. Just be weary of spoilers you find online.

Me: I find it funny how you say a lot of these confidants are almost impossible to complete on a first playthrough just because they need max social stats.. Also me: Is actually just a big Persona fan, and has mapped out his route to completing all of the Confidants in one run, at least 4 different times now. And has successfully 100% all confidants and social stats.

The Death arcana is a little low. Her SP items are invaluable to get through palaces in one night.

Not to mention that Hifumi needs to be maxed out in order to unlock a fusion that is required to make Satanael. I was able to finally unlock Satanael on my third playthrough of the game.

Why do people hate haru SP items are still useful especially in the late game and I feel like I used cards more then most people so Yusuke had a much more useful reward im also an artist and yusuke is my favorite phantom thief because of that so I guess that is why I used him more

Also, I’d argue that Party members should be a lot higher, as baton pass is absolutely needed. Part of the reason I didn’t use Haru at all after I got a psycokenesis persona was that I missed her confidant. Plus, Takemi should be top priority early on, as her SP items are an absolute lifesaver first time around.

I still think Yoshida's perks are useless. Negotiating with Shadow is super easy and money problem is easily solved with Pulinpa on bosses. Even more so in Royal, because they changed how Ryuji's insta kills works
His perks are good if your luck is shit, and he's also a great character

abilities don't. you start back at level 1 and only certain things carry over: money gained from the previous playthrough, the compendium, some items like the goodbye gifts you get from confidants on your last day, and the weapons you used can be rebought from the Airsoft shop. the rest has to be redone from the beginning with only a few perks

Okay so I’m pretty new to the Persona franchise wtf does new game plus mean? When you start a new game? I’ve heard it a few times but haven’t understood what it is.
A New Game + in a video game is when you start a New Game on a completed file, and carry over some content that you've completed or collected from your completed file. In the case of Persona 5, the whole game runs on a Calendar. Once you get to the end of the story, that's it. You can't play anymore on that file.
Starting New Game + will carry over some stuff from your old file such as:
- The amount of money you have by the end of your old file
- All the weapons, guns, protectors, and badges you carry.
- Any gifts from your romantic dates or maxed out confidants
- All skill cards and blank cards
- The personas you've obtained on your Persona Compendium
- Your social stats
Meaning, a lot of the progress you made in your previous playthrough will no longer have to be grinded for as much. And while it is possible to max out all social stats and confidants on your first playthrough, it's almost impossible for the first time player unless you know every single opportunity of leveling up your stats and ranks the most efficient way as possible that you will learn over the course of your first playthrough. The gifts from your maxed out confidants are the MOST essential items in guaranteeing a 100% completion on your second playthrough.
When doing New Game +, you won't have the personas or levels with your characters you once had. So any weapons, money, or confidants gifts you gain will offer you a huge advantage in your second playthrough. And if you have a certain confidant's gift, that gift is put into effect the moment you get rank 1 from that confidant. But New Game + doesn't offer just a chance to 100% everything. There's one challenge and trophy that you cannot get called the "Beyond Rehabilitation" trophy that is only possible to initiate on New Game + with Caroline and Justine in Mementos. Many people consider a true 100% completion as gaining all trophies in the game (platinum trophy included) and having all confidant gifts (romantic ones are not essential). While it's possible to complete everything on your first playthrough (except for the Beyond Rehabilitation trophy), don't worry if you don't get it all on your first playthrough. New Game + is there is guarantee you get a 100% completion. Maxing out all confidants, maxing all social stats, reading all books, crafting every infiltration tool, beating every retro video game, obtaining every single persona, customizing a gun, catching a particular fish when you go fishing, buying every drink from the vending machines at least once, unlocking all hangout spots, etc. Beating the game on a higher difficulty does not offer anything, so just keep the difficulty on normal to save you on getting headaches.
You're always welcome to use this video or any sources you find online to help you beat this game more efficiently. So if you're still going through your first playthrough, max out as many confidants as possible! Especially some of the top ones I mention in this video so your New Game + playthrough is more efficient. Just be weary of spoilers you find online.

Also me: Is actually just a big Persona fan, and has mapped out his route to completing all of the Confidants in one run, at least 4 different times now. And has successfully 100% all confidants and social stats.
