best video's ever!!! I absolutely love dollar tree. Before I found your channel I was wondering how I was going to fuel this craft beast and these videos my friend have been such an amazing source of inspiration for a newbie...
Thank you! I realized there was a lack of videos talking about things you can use with a laser from the Dollar Tree and other places like that so I decided to make a few.
Nice Steve!! A suggestion instead of using tape, you can use a piece of a brown paper bag under the glass. I use it a lot for my glass items.. Stay Safe!!
Nice work. The tape is on the bottom, right? To give the laser an opaque medium to work with? But if it’s focusing on that, how do you compensate for the thickness of whatever glass you’re engraving?
does it have to be engraved from underneath? I'm engraving a glass top for a box lid with initials. Does it matter if the engraving is on the top or bottom in that case?
Hello, thank you for sharing this video! I may have missed it (and I apologize for that), but can you please share the settings that you have set in place for the etching to turn out like this? I love this etching project.
For this item I just used blue painters tape. You can use any kind of masking tape really. The only reason I masked this is because the laser has a hard time seeing the glass. I masked on the side I did not engrave just so the laser could focus. Hope that helps.
does anyone else see the pennywise clown in the nose of the koala? its face is the crazy hair and he even has clown clothes on if you see the clown out of focus
Mirrors present some issues. The laser will reflect back which can cause a bad engrave or other problems, you wouldn't want to look at it. There are options though, if yoe engrave from behind and mask the front it should, in theory work. Challenge accepted.
I think the machine does really nice work, but it seems to really take a long time. Not what I would call a production machine if you had, say, 100 of those to engrave.
For engraving it does take it's time. Cutting however is quick. This can be used for production but on a limited level. Perhaps someday, if I succeed with this one, I'll upgrade, it's a couple grand more for an entry level production machine.
I am loving these videos using dollar tree stuff. That came out nice.
Excellent Job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
