Are used to be a good shot, but lately I seem to really be struggling. Part of it is my packet loss in the game just being really choppy ever since the corona hit. But also I just don’t have enough silver lines to be exporting all my crews. So in all the videos you make do you always have expert or ace crews? What is your general rule? I know some guys that won’t even leave the hanger without an expert crew. Also do you have a module list going from stock to complete? I know every plan is different but generally what are the mods you do first? Also thank you so much for the OSD recommendation it’s incredible how much your active crime rate gauge can help your gameplay.
Hey Adam, new sub here, love your content, I'm learning useful stuff for WT air RB! Could you play the F9F-8 Cougar? I've been struggling with this plane, it feels outclassed. The missiles help, but I think MER is abysmal. What do you think? Thanks!

3:58 yeah, because that thing is floatier than a balloon and has 3 Mg151s. That plane is ridiculous and can pull off things you would not expect it to. I think it should be 5.7
@@stallfighter The current LF is 50+km/h faster than the Re2005. The fast aircraft the Re2005 faces are over 100km/h faster. That's a big speed difference.
@@AdamTheEnginerd only 35 km/h slower than LF at 6-7k, but with better energy state. There are other 5.3 aircraft with somewhat similar stats - A7M2. But its armament isnt OHK...
@@AdamTheEnginerd the low top speed isn't as big a weakness when it dives well and matches rarely go above 7km, which it can climb to faster than most planes it faces. It's not hard to outrun it, but when top speed is all you have, you need teammates to help out, which is hit or miss when playing allied teams. The plane itself isn't OP per se, but it fits the META of war thunder air RB perfectly.
About the Re2005, any advice on how to use it properly? I mean I still can’t compete with Spit somehow, even with energy advantage, speed advantage and altitude, they seem to get all lucky shots in the world.. maybe it’s just my bad luck but so far I prefer sticking at 4.0 with the C.205 serie III
I did a video on it recently: ruclips.net/video/eHD_C1Il7t0/видео.html&t0s= It's the Spitfires that should be afraid of you. In optimal circumstances for the Spitfire LF Mk IX, the Re2005 is about evenly matched with it. You should be outturning the Griffons.
Complicated question for a number of reasons. Depends on how good the aircraft is, how the teams are (the better your team, the harder it is to find good footage), what my standards are for that plane, if you count the games I play with friends (I rarely show squaded matches), if you count all the games I do in a plane I've featured a lot already (F4U4B for example), because if I featured a plane a lot already my standards for showing it again are very high. All in all, for an aircraft which I succeeded in finding footage for, it should take around 10-15 games.
So I have a few questions, i always see youtubers saying some planes have great high altitude performance, or having really bad high altitude performance i would just like to know what is considered high altitude? Also Adam says in one of his videos that its better to fight a bf109 g2/trop in a p51-d30 at low altitude, i always thought you would want to fight in the p51-d30 at high altitude because that was where it best performed? But correct me if I'm wrong.
High altitude for me is 5km+. In the Bf109 vs P51 example, you can have an idea of what altitude is best by comparing their performance at different altitude. I say it's better for the P51D30 at low altitude because it's at low altitude that the D30 has the highest speed advantage over the G2/Trop and the lowest climb difference (G2/Trop has the climb advantage). At 6km (high alt), the speed gap is smaller than at low altitude, and the G2/Trop has a bigger climb advantage, so that's where the G2/Trop has the most advantages. P51D30 would prefer to fight any German at low altitude rather than at high altitude. That's generally true for faster planes in general, with the except of turbocharged fighters (P47s, P38s).
It's fun when you climb in the me 410 then realize theres a cluster shootout underneath you so you just put on the airbrakes and dive straight down and get onto someone's tail just like you had been there the entire time :D. waist of energy, but funny af
I still dont get the compressor settings for planes. For example FW190A5 has 2 Gears. Gear 1 optimal altitude 700m and Gear 2 optimal altitude 5300m. Does it mean Gear 1 is working best AT 700m or below 700m. Between 700m and 5300m is a huge gap. At whichh altitude is the engine performance so bad i need to switch to Gear 2?
Optimal altitude means max power at that altitude for the respective gears. For example for gear 1 below 700m, the compressor is overcompressing the air so some of the energy is lost, reducing power. At 700m, the compressor is at the perfect speed for that air density/altitude so there are no losses, leading to maximum power. Over 700m, the compressor can no longer provide the same high intake pressure, so engine power drops off as altitude increases, until you get to a certain altitude where switching to gear 2 will start increasing power again. Fw190s have automatic supercharger gears though.
how do you think about F7F now? you still think it is good? I'm heavy fighter lover, and I want to try every twin engines, but that 6.0 BR makes me hesitate to try it
Adam, when I see you setting up your MEC, I see that you can control the radiator things with all the porcentages and you don't need to hold it to maintain a number, I tried to set some radiator MEC and if I press the button to open it goes 100% and if I release the button it backs to 50% (normal value), and if I press to close it goes to 0% and when I release it backs to 50% How can I do the same as you to control it without having to holding the key?
@@AdamTheEnginerd thanks :D Can u answer another question? Im using spitfire MK ix right now and im using MEC on it, but it doesn't have automatic propeller pitch control, so when I activate the MEC is better to keep the pitch at 100% and don't change? Because if I understood right, the automatic value of the pitch on the mk ix will always be 100%, is that right?
I hate killing bombers at the beginning of the match since they might get a lucky shot on my engine or pilot, but the urge to kill an easy target is just to tempting cx
What about a duel between the P51D30 and the Fw190 D13 (I think D9 or D12 would work as well)? If both pilots are competetent that can be a really exciting match.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Nah I fought against a friend and won in the D13 because the D30 has problems in the vertical and at low speeds - he was behind me and I drained his energy in a rolling scissors, went into a half loop and then into an upwards spiral - he couldn't follow me and I got a shot.
@@bluefox9436 your friend cannot be thaaat competent then... the d13 cannot pull anywhere near as hard as the 51d30, and the d30 retains more energy through manoeuvres. Should not really be much of a match, just one turn and the d30 will have the advantage and basically be on the 190s 6
@@blitzkriegbarry5267 well the P51 can pull harder yes - but the D13 defenetly retains it's energy better than the 51 - that's why the wulf has the edge if you go into a slow upwards spiral or pull vertical manouvers in general - you simply have more horse power in the 190.

Hey Adam do you have any tips on how to deal with Re 2005s? It's absolutely infuriating to have to face as there's not really much you can do against them when they manage to be above everyone else every single time. And it doesn't help that they really don't have any notable weakness aside from what, a slightly lower top speed than some other planes it seems. I dread every allied match simply because that plane is incredibly difficult to fly against, not to mention that allied teams seem to be made of a lot of people that enjoy doing lawn care every single day decorating the fields with their smoldering wreckage.
Re2005's main weakness is its speed. It's the slowest 5.3 BR single-engined fighter at sea level. Even a 4.3 A6M is only 25km/h slower than it, which is itself a slow plane for 4.3. Re2005 is the kind of plane you need to run against, and bait for teammates. Unfortunately, Allied teams typically have a lower number of useful planes, so that is a tough thing to do.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Guess the only solution to play allied teams at all is a 4 man squad of Spits or two Spits and and two 4Bs or 4 P-51s maybe. Better yet just all of us get P-47Ms and go crazy. You know I bet I could beat an Re 2005 in a Yak 2. XD
@@AdamTheEnginerd Yeah. I certainly don't do bad in them. I can count on probably one hand how many planes I have with a ratio below 1 but, it still isn't fun at times being the last one against like 7 enemy planes. That part just gives me cancer almost. And they want to complain as to why I am at high alt and am trying to figure out what I'm going to do. I don't play very passive, but I don't like getting swarmed by four or five planes either so I tend to play rather conservatively in planes like P-38s and P-47s whereas I'm more aggressive in Spits, Corsairs, and P-51s.
It would be good if gaijin finally removed the Ta 152 airspwan as they did with the P-47, they were the only ones keeping the Ta 152 balanced. But 6.3 is kinda better as it means more jet battles and less things at you alt to ruin your game

AdamTheEnginerd it’s still sluggish, and until they attack bf109s there’s no problem, it’s easy to dodge, But usually they attack doras, and it’s really hard to dodge them: they came from the clouds when you are at 290km/h with a fw190d, and you don’t have enough maneuverability to dodge them in time. Or Gaijin reduces the amount of clouds or this plane needs to be nerfed a bit.

Expert crews yeah. Doesn't cost much though.
I do performance mods first generally.

Hey Adam, new sub here, love your content, I'm learning useful stuff for WT air RB!
Could you play the F9F-8 Cougar? I've been struggling with this plane, it feels outclassed. The missiles help, but I think MER is abysmal. What do you think? Thanks!

Adam, do you use a sound mod? Those engine sounds are amazing. Especially when you switch between 100 and wep
No sound mod, just old sounds.
The F7f for some reason will be moved up to 6.3 in the next update. What are your thoughts on this decision

This is 6.7 now, and they must have changed the damage model, last time I flew it any fires would immediately burn the wing off.
I don't think they changed the DM. It was sturdy when I played it.
Hey how do you display your aoa and crit aoa like that?
It's called the "local host".
How to access the "local host":
You need to be running War Thunder or it won't work!
Option 1: on the same computer that is running WT:
-Type localhost:8111/ in the address bar and press enter and voila.
Option 2 (which also works on the computer that runs WT):
-Type Your_IP_Address:8111/ where you replace "Your_IP_Address" by your IP Address (192.168.X.XXX) in the address bar and press enter and voila, you can look at the characteristics on another device while flying.

this thing has got some serious firepower
Yup.
3:58 yeah, because that thing is floatier than a balloon and has 3 Mg151s. That plane is ridiculous and can pull off things you would not expect it to. I think it should be 5.7
It's already the slowest 5.3 single-engined fighter. It has its weaknesses.
@@AdamTheEnginerd bad speed didnt prevent Mk.IXLF to become OP back in the day.

I did a video on it recently: ruclips.net/video/eHD_C1Il7t0/видео.html&t0s=
It's the Spitfires that should be afraid of you. In optimal circumstances for the Spitfire LF Mk IX, the Re2005 is about evenly matched with it. You should be outturning the Griffons.
What settings do you use for the graphic?
It's custom, pretty much medium.

how many matches do you play on average to get a youtube worthy one?
Complicated question for a number of reasons. Depends on how good the aircraft is, how the teams are (the better your team, the harder it is to find good footage), what my standards are for that plane, if you count the games I play with friends (I rarely show squaded matches), if you count all the games I do in a plane I've featured a lot already (F4U4B for example), because if I featured a plane a lot already my standards for showing it again are very high.
All in all, for an aircraft which I succeeded in finding footage for, it should take around 10-15 games.
lmao in chat prophetmoses says team noob but he has no kills and 1 death himself
Kills aren't the only indicator of usefulness ;).
Hi, Adam! There are not videos about Seafire fr 47. Do it please. It is very interesting to know your opinion about this plane.
On my list! It's tough to fly, it's alright.
Hey Adam, have you considered playing the Ju87 D-5 with the MG 151 gunpods?
It's on my list!
@@AdamTheEnginerd Oh! That'll be nice to watch.
Hmm interesting battle plan.
@@AdamTheEnginerd ok nice thx.
So, f8f and f4u4b still better? And, which heavy fighter are best of 5.0+? F7f, ki-83, hornet?
F8F is pretty bad, F4U4B is better yeah.
Hornet.

Adam, when I see you setting up your MEC, I see that you can control the radiator things with all the porcentages and you don't need to hold it to maintain a number, I tried to set some radiator MEC and if I press the button to open it goes 100% and if I release the button it backs to 50% (normal value), and if I press to close it goes to 0% and when I release it backs to 50%
How can I do the same as you to control it without having to holding the key?
Oh I think I found it... I need to activate "relative control", right?
Yeah relative control!
@@AdamTheEnginerd thanks :D
Can u answer another question?
Im using spitfire MK ix right now and im using MEC on it, but it doesn't have automatic propeller pitch control, so when I activate the MEC is better to keep the pitch at 100% and don't change? Because if I understood right, the automatic value of the pitch on the mk ix will always be 100%, is that right?
@@notvini Pitch % should be approximately equal to throttle. Then you can lower pitch a bit to improve cooling without much power loss.

D30 should win easily. Best matchup would be D30 vs A5/U2.
Should not really be much of a match, just one turn and the d30 will have the advantage and basically be on the 190s 6

thats a sick game xD, ive been having trouble playing ARB. i dont know how to dog fight. im currently using the premium f2g--1 from US
Hey Adam do you have any tips on how to deal with Re 2005s?
XD
Or take up the challenge and carry your team to victory! If Allies weren't tough to play, I'd be bored.
How do you get shots like that without zooming in I can hit without zooming in
I can't hit if I zoom ;).
Do you think this plane is still alright at its recent BR increase to 6.3?
It's fine at best, but there's significantly better planes even at lower BR now.
It would be good if gaijin finally removed the Ta 152 airspwan as they did with the P-47, they were the only ones keeping the Ta 152 balanced. But 6.3 is kinda better as it means more jet battles and less things at you alt to ruin your game

This plane should not have an airspawn. It climbs better than lots of planes, and also is not sluggish as most of other heavy fighter
At 6.0 it's fine with an airspawn. It's still sluggish compared to average.
AdamTheEnginerd it’s still sluggish, and until they attack bf109s there’s no problem, it’s easy to dodge,
But usually they attack doras, and it’s really hard to dodge them: they came from the clouds when you are at 290km/h with a fw190d, and you don’t have enough maneuverability to dodge them in time. Or Gaijin reduces the amount of clouds or this plane needs to be nerfed a bit.
