I wanted the L8 but the battery type is a deal breaker, so as soon as i see the 3x21D i went for it, i got it for two days playing and showing it to my friend and my wife is allready mad at me, i almost even sleep with it LOL
I thought I was the only one who hated how the L8 uses an uncommon battery size.
Omg that’s so funny, but I understand it. I just got mine yesterday and my wife didn’t see me at all after that. I love my L8, but this new 3x21d is quite a bit better. The L21b w/sbt90.2 is another amazing light. I hope you checked out that review as well. Thanks for watching.

@@verynice1192 I was expecting an extension tube to run 2x26650s but now it doesn't matter 3x21D all day, plus I got it with the molicells

I have the 3x21D as well as other large throwers from Convoy. Nothing compared to the 3x21D. It's performance is shocking, even up against is own brand throwers and others like my Noctigon K1.
Great choice brother. There is nothing that can compare to it for the price. It is an absolute beaast
I just bought the 3X21D recently, Should be here soon. Kept looking at the L8 but that weird battery size stopped me from getting it, glad i chose the 3x21d now because its more powerful with the bigger head & has better run times with 3x 21700's. Ill be using my new Molicel P45B's in it. I was hoping i could get more amps out of it with the molicel's but found out i can't, but that's ok. I like the way you think Mark Gossling, with dipping the handle in liquid silicone, clever idea! btw Just subbed to your channel. Going through all your vids now, Brett from down under Australia. 🔦🔦🔦

I know that’s what smothered chrome measured it at. I’ll check, either way, it’s a very bright and powerful light. A real 4500 lumens is a ton of light. I don’t know what stabilization is? Maybe you mean constant current? If that’s your question, I’m not sure. I don’t take a lot of measurements and runtimes. I’m pretty sure it’s constant current, but I could be wrong. @@marcgossling8260 at the size of 3x21d, an Sft40 + regulated Driver would easy pass 1700/1800 Metters, and turbo would last much more, Got my eyes on the Astrolux MF04, that thing does 2400 Metters with an Xhp35hi led

Hey! could you help me i have a convoy 3x21D. the torch lights up, but the key doesn't work. cannot turn off the light or change the brightness. where could be the problem? also, when I try to charge the flashlight, the light comes on when charging! is it normal??
Idk what the key is and the button turning on during charging is normal. To change the brightness you just hold the button down and it will go up or down. If you need to reset it just unscrew the batteries then rescrew them and make sure they’re very tight.

Hello friend, today I received a new convoy 3x1d and compared it with convoy l8 sbt90.2, shines the same, maybe it needs to be charged?
Maybe. Did you watch the part where I compare the L8 to the 3x21d? The 3x21d beam shoots much further. They’re using the same led, with a relatively same size head so the beam and brightness will be close, but my 3x21d throws so much more further than the L8
Is there any difference in brightness between the FET driver version and the buck driver version? (3x21d)
Yes. Fet driven flashlights can achieve higher output(lumens/candela) because they are not regulated. A buck driver will not be able to get as bright, but it will sustain higher lumens longer as the driver is being regulated. I don’t mind a fet driver, but if I was planning on using this light for search and rescue I would want a buck driver. For everyday random use, I like the fet as it is brighter in short bursts, but it will get hotter and the batteries won’t last as long

I have another question if you don't mind: with the Fet i know that it cant sustain the output for longer periods of time but if im using it at 50% or 40% battery will the lumin output be at the same level as at 90% 100% battery? In other words does the lumin output go down as the battery level also goes down?
Hi dear friend i am thinking of buying this new model convoy 3x21d sbt90.2 flashlight. I would love to hear your opinions and experiences about this flashlight. What I am wondering is if there is a noticeable decrease in the light when the flashlight is in turbo mode or does the sbt90.2 led brightness decrease after 2 minutes because the flashlight heats up. how many minutes and how many lumen output is fixed. and from batteries to batteries, does the light brightness and working time change, do the batteries affect the working parameters of the flashlight? I currently have Molicel p42a and samsung 50E batteries. Would you recommend this flashlight or should I look into other long range flashlights?..
This is an absolute beast of a long range flashlight. You won’t find anything close to these specs for this price. I don’t know all the runtimes on this light, but the main thing is that it’s a large flashlight with a large reflector with 3 batteries so you could get up to 15000mah with the 50e to power this led. I never noticed it getting too hot, but when it steps down you can ramp it back up to turbo and it will ramp back up. Even on medium and high you can see a very long distance
@@marcgossling8260 So what I want to know is: When you turn the flashlight on turbo mode directly, does the brightness of the light begin to visibly decrease immediately? Or does it dim the brightness after a few minutes?

Riddle me this: Convoy 3X21D with SBT90.2 or Convoy L21A with SBT90.2? I just can't decide, and would appreciate your input. I've got the Wurkkos TS30S PRO and I love it. Should I just try to keep my money in my wallet? (Prob not gonna happen). 🤣
Hi Judy. Lol, my wife and I both work and have separate bank accounts so we spend our money the way we want, haha, so luckily she’s ok with whatever I buy as long as I pay for half the bills. I have the wurkkos ts30s and it’s an awesome light, I also have a l8, which puts the ts30s to shame. The 3x21d puts the l8 to shame, not literally, but honestly the 3x21d is a whole other animal. I think it’s worth it as it’s a super thrower and it’s less than $100. It’s built really well and has great temperature regulation. I haven’t done any heat tests or anything, but I was able to hold the 3x21d quite a bit longer than any of my other sbt90.2 lights. The beam is absolutely incredible. You just get so much more from a bigger light with much more power and amps. This is my new favorite thrower. That’s saying a lot as most of my lights are throwers. It’s not too heavy and I love the handle. So what I’m saying is yes. You need this light. The L21B is great, but it doesn’t compare to it either

I actually meant the Convoy L21"A" in SBT 90.2, it's just been released. I just wondered how it would compare to the 3X21D for throw, heat dissipation and efficiency. I'm not sure if i'm up for a light with a bulky handle yet and I still love my TS30sPRO with RGB light and Anduril2. But if you know anything about the NEW L21A with SBT90.2 I would appreciate it. Otherwise I will save up and take your recommendation with the 3X21D, but it's fairly pricey, (w/3 Molicel P42A's AU$182) in my Country. (And learn to hide flashlight money!). 🤣Cheers mate. 👍
@@judysimpson3774 yes, flashlight money is very important for you and you only. No need to tell your spouse lol. So the l21a and l21b have the same driver and same size reflector so the beam will be exactly the same as that comparison that I did with the 3x21d vs the l21b. It blows it away. Granted the l21a will be able to deal with the heat better, but still won’t last as long as the 3x21. Also the l21a&b both have the smaller 18 amp driver where the 3x21 has a 28 amp driver. So the led will be able to be driver harder and more efficiently than the 18a driver. I’m a huge advocate for this light. I’m probably the wrong person to ask as I love it so much! It’s definitely worth the extra money and the larger size. If you’re gonna go for something go big! You will not be disappoinyed

No, I’m pretty sure it’s a fet driver and not a buck driver. The L7 has a buck driver
Is the 3x21 as well regulated as the L7?
Not regulated. It’s a 54 amp fet driver
If you love SBT90.2 then you should stay away 🤭 from wurkkos ts30pro (actually on sale ) or the tiny Manker mc13II

Lol, look at my older videos like my ts30s and ts30s pro videos. My ts30s was my first sbt90.2 light and I absolutely love that light. I really like the pro version. I’d like to get a mc13, just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Thanks for watching 😀

Well you have made a good choice. I thought I explained the ui on this particular light in the video. I’ll have to go back and check. If not, I can make a short on it and also write the directions in the description

ohhh yeah i had to send my wurkkos TD01 back since they didnt want to refund me also there was dust under the lens somehow and i didnt like that at all so yeah not sure why they would send me a light that had dust in it but owell are you still giving away theat wurkkos TD01 lol i would love to have it
