The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. According to traditions dating back to the fourth century, it contains the two holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus was crucified, at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, where he is believed by Christians to have been buried and resurrected.
After allegedly seeing a vision of a cross in the sky in 312, Constantine the Great converted to Christianity, signed the Edict of Milan legalising the religion, and sent his mother Helena to Jerusalem to look for Christ's tomb. With the help of Bishop of Caesarea Eusebius and Bishop of Jerusalem Macarius, three crosses were found near a tomb, leading the Romans to believe that they had found Calvary. Constantine ordered in about 326 that the temple to Jupiter/Venus be replaced by a church. After the temple was torn down and its ruins removed, the soil was removed from the cave, revealing a rock-cut tomb that Helena and Macarius identified as the burial site of Jesus. A shrine was built, enclosing the rock tomb walls within its own.
In 327, Constantine and Helena separately commissioned the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem to commemorate the birth of Jesus.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was built as separate constructs over the two holy sites: the great basilica (the Martyrium visited by Egeria in the 380s), an enclosed colonnaded atrium (the Triportico) with the traditional site of Calvary in one corner, and across a courtyard, a rotunda called the Anastasis ("Resurrection"), where Helena and Macarius believed Jesus to have been buried.
The church was consecrated on 13 September 335. Every year, the Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates the anniversary of the Dedication of the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ

    My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered licensed tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am present tudies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee,

Zahi, thank you for this movie about the great templesite, where I sat on the steps, saw the ladder on the facade and the strange pillars at the entrance. I loved just beeing there, with all the people who came and went to Church. Another movie, about Jerusalem day, what a wonderful freedom, all walking together. Lovingly! ✝️ ✡️ 🇸🇪 🙏 🇮🇱

This church was built by St. Elena which was Hellene🇬🇷 and Orthodox☦️
The mother of St. Constantine the Great.
So, it’s obvious that this church “belongs” to the Hellenic Orthodox Patriarchate! Orthodoxy is the First Church, all the other denominations are heresies that came us later in History.
The main alters are all belonging to the Hellenic Orthodox Church
Papal Latins came later and built their altars next to ours.
You can see that at Golgotha, the Tomb, right in front of it is the Orthodox Church, the Papal one and the Armenian one are on the sides because they came and built those centuries later… etc
The Miracle with the Holy Fire proves who’s right! It’s a living reminder to anyone to abandon their heresies and return to the truth☦️
When the Armenians payed the Ottomans to leave them take the Holy Fire and lock the Orthodox Patriarch outside of the Church the Holy are didn’t am ur for them!!!
The schismatic Pope of Rome or any Protestant priest never tried to do it…
When this miracle happened many Muslims believed in Christ and they were baptised Orthodox and executed by the ottomans the same day!
It’s weird to see that many Armenians have written something on this pillar!
I don’t know if anyone in the comments can help us by translating this part for example: 2:25
