@@kh2b573 it's not a wheeled vehicle, its tires are only cosmetic, so this update doesn't affect it
The EBR was designed to drive with only the steering wheels (Steel wheels purpose was to give more traction in off-road) so I think the EBRs shouldn't be affected in bad by the "wheel steal"

Imagine losing all wheels to get lower, then getting pushed by teammates into spots where you couldnt have fit before, and then repairing it. Not sure whether there are any spots that could use this trick, but if there are, then it is going to be awesome.
Holy hell, you took every single words out of my mouth. I'm pretty sure some crafty people out there will find some perfect camping spots for "wheel-free" wheeled vehicles...
Sounds like another mechanic that will launch us into the sky if you get into a space just low enough
Or maybe under the map..
You'd have to get into the spot before the auto-repair finishes, after which I'd guess that you get "crushed" instead of breaking the map.
The chance of this happening are next to zero unless an enemy is just trolling you and he gets killed before finishing you off.

This is a very cool change, but i do think they should have both damage models. Punctured and blown off. Instead of the wheel always going on his own adventure.

@@iceresistance They could be nice but the rate of crime is extremely high there compared to the rest of the US. You can find nice people everywhere, it's not unique to any state.

Completly removing the wheel seems absurd. Same mechanic but letting the rim would make more sense.
It should be :
- light damage you got a flat, can stll move, be fixed or will get worse and shred itself(8 sec)
-medium tire is shreded, mobility and traction affected, big fix needed (15 sec)
-large damge only the rim is left, big repair (25 sec) huge affect on mobility and level.
heavy damage could also be broken control arms and whatnot. the wheel would still be attached, but effectively useless.

New way to farm silver lion: find poor type 93, destroy its wheels, push to the corner you only know, and 30 seconds later you shoot the wheels again and repeat untill you farm enough silver lion

Love how they had one job, make the wheels just fall off, and they still managed to fuck it up. They have no clue how fucking wheels work, and it shows with this no move shit.

Immobility is a balancing thing, a vehicle with a ton of wheels would be hilariously hard to immobilize otherwise

Sdkfz 6/2 and m16 can now become tracked
Good change. Balances the kamikaze wheelies.
This will force them to play smart instead of just holding W and not getting damaged by anything because of their largely empty interiors.
That’s the issue with WT.
Instead of changing kill criteria they are now super slowly adding more modules to a thousand ground vehicles one step at a time, just turning the game into repair simulator.
@@kimjanek646 I actually voted against more modules, since it will practically make all hits 1 shot kill, as it will disable you completely one way or another while your oppenent just put one more into ya
But since all other vehicles are getting more modules, this specific change is good for balancing the wheelies like said.
I'd prefer stun mechanics, which itself, is also realistic. No human can function at the same rate after getting hit by such a shockwave
Its not a good change, its a half assed implementation of something that should be more complex. This is extremely unrealistic and also unfairly punishes certain vehicles that already are bad enough as-is. There was 0 thought put into this by Gaijin; all it is, is a "look we did something" change. I agree kamikazi cancer vehicles should be beaten a bit more, but this is coming at the cost of making vehicles like the M1128 Styker which is already not great and implemented incorrectly, significantly worse, as well as making things like AUBLs that already kinda suck ass + their lack of gun depression over their front, even more trash.

What about using flamethrowers/napalm to destroy wheels? Do they also fly off into the dstance or deflate like in live?

Actually fucking nice. I was so annoyed by wheeled vehicles, even if wheels wouldn't fly off like that IRL, there's no way they should be usable anyhow after being hit by a literal tank round.
I'm also curious, do you lose wheels when you get hit by heavier rounds or do you also lose wheels when hit by 50 cal?
I would hope there's a distinction there. It would be silly for a machine gun to have the same effect as a tank gun.

About time, the amount of times i've sent a 120mm into a wheeled vehicle and only for it too just drive away like nothing happened is far too high. Are wheels still way too durable or have they reduced their durability too?

the concept is really cool but it really still need some work, i'd like it to be either progressive (as in the wheel burst/goes flat first and if further it just pop off) or there to be two parts to the wheels (with the actual wheel/tire and the axle separate, similar to how tracks and drives sprocket are modeled right now) where hitting only the wheels will cause it to pop/run flat sagging the vehicle a bit and allow some special runflat or steel tire module to still run in some capacity while hitting the axle will cause the wheel to pop off and cause the vehicle to fully tilt and unable to utilize movement from that area
if this does enter the game at some point i wonder if there would be possibilities to adapt the system onto tracked vehicle's suspension
I hope the suspension of the Rooikat can cope with the loss of a wheel without affecting mobility.
As seen in a video where a Rooikat, which probably drove over a mine, was pretty much unaffected and driving at high speed without it's front wheel.
Knowing gaijin and the apparent removal of flat tires... very likely not. Don't think they will even model tanks which can be reloaded by autoloader AND manually IRL properly
@@LinkatchuDon't some vehicles have open differentials? Losing a wheel could probably entirely nullify the power to that axle and be more immobilizing than a flat tire

went from realistic to unrealistic. Nice job Gaijin. The only thing taking wheels off should be shots to the wheel hub by large caliber rounds or a chance for smaller caliber.Popped wheels is what would realistically happen in most cases.
Vehicles like the M1128 which is already not great are going to be alot more shit now as if it wasnt bad enough with all its missing features. Also cant wait to see how the AUBLs fair with their terrible depression in a very important angle.

I can imagine using friendly fire to get into a very good hull down position
guys guys! hear me out! if you go into simulator battles with a friend and shoot each others wheels out and not repair them you can have extremely low profile (hopefully they will make it that u don't have to repair them)

as you need to get the wheel and APFSDS will most likely just go straight at you and didn't do mush area damage against paper armor in war thunder, so it gonna have to hit the wheel, good luck with that
I just *_know_* there will be 1 armored car that is too low, and when it regens its wheels it will go flying like the R3 does when it falls into water
i feel like that case might happen based on how high the vehicle ground clearance was, ie higher suspension and bigger wheels might cause a higher jump bug after a wheel repair

Good way to nerf wheeled vehicles but I don’t think that an APFSDS round is going to blow off four tires in a row. I mean in general it feels kinda cartoonish.
If some medium to large caliber HE rounds blows off some tires , they should just stay destroyed.

I feel like machine guns and other low calibre weapons (up to 20mm) should only puncture wheels like the old system, but anything above 20mm should use the new wheel destruction mechanic. I feel like it would be a fun realistic detail.
wish they added parallax to the aiming and rework stabilizers a bit, to make it feel more like operating a tank, maybe top tier would be better

i mean, the tires hove so many bolt its pain full to change them, if you loose the wheel you probably lost something else. This mechanic doesnt make any sense, just make the tires flat...
I hope they overhaul the repair system soon. It would be nice to choose what to repair. Often I don't need my turret ring fixed, I need a wheel repaired so I can run.
does r3 (or any other amphibious wheeled vehicle) still move in water with no wheels? or just same logic as when in ground?

Weirdest thing is that in reality German halftracks werent all that bugged by their front wheels missing, as their tracks go very far forward, so as long as the rear isnt entirely empty the front wont even snag on the ground.
