Love your format as always Duncan, I’ve always loved how you lay out the information and the countless clips you have to show what you like or dislike. 👍🏽
I love how you do breakdowns on players we acquire on our team. And examine how their style of play impacts our roster. Most people just go off of names or stats like casuals.
Philips was highly recruited and the #11 HS player in the country. Better shooter than he showed at TENN where he was misused. I expect him to be a sort of sleeper pick, more like a 1st rounder, in the 20-25 range. He can defend and move and is 6'8" and may be the guy we hoped PW would be.
Good breakdown! Although I see Mikal Bridges @ Villanova as a comp more than DJJ. I don't see the 43" vert they claim he has, but he uses his height and length well on defense.
His 43" vertical definitely isn't shown much in games. I mentioned that he jumps too far away from the basket when going for layups and I think that doesn't allow his vertical to show. U definitely see it when he goes for put back dunks tho. He can seriously jump I'm not sure about the Mikal Bridges comp bc Bridges can do so many things and obviously shoots it better. I think Phillips can be a Bridges type player but I don't know if he'll ever reach Bridges. Remember, Bridges averaged over 20 ppg when he got to Brooklyn. He's more than a 3 and D starter now
@@theslamduncan I see Villanova Mikal, not NBA Mikal in JP. Although Mikal Bridges was much more refined as a 4 yr red shirted Jr when drafted compared to Phillips 1 yr 19 yr old freshman. Both were defensive 1st players who favors attacking the rim on offense.

I appreciate it Kalvin!
Keep up the good work. Hopefully you gonna breach 1k subs upcoming season
Thank you!
I'm hoping as well. I'm shocked at my growth this past year. Hopefully, 1k subs is possible

Ohhh I get it now
Yeah I see what you're saying
Good look at Summer League! I hope you dunc-an them!
Thank you! Can't wait to watch the Bulls and Wembanyama in person
My comp for him is Siakam
Hmm not sure about that
That's an all star we're talking about with Siakam and he can really create his own shot. I don't think Phillips gets there
