He's like Maytag, the loneliest man on stage, but everybody needs a good roll and slash form the cymbals in tune to get my movie attention, Tim's got a job for life.
I came here from encountering pop songs like "love don't cost a thing" by JLo recently and hearing timpani in it. Not a fan of pop songs usually. There are some silly bangers! I haven't played kit or samba group drums for nearly 30 years, but am a percussion appreciator. I love what you do!
Thanks Tim, I was drawn to check this out after watching Roger Taylor play them. Now I know a little bit more and that 'timpani' rhymes with 'symphony' - cheers
Tim, the best explanation is little talk and much play. I still really want to actually hear the differences of playing in the middle compared to the "best spot". Also please let us hear all the different pitches when using the pedals.... I wait for an update 😅
The second I heard "I'm Tim" I knew this was the best video on the timpani I could have clicked on
“I’m Tim and I play the timpani, I like to wear timberland boots”
The Tim multiverse
Timpani are my favourite pitched percussion instrument.

I love how even light hits clip the mics they're using for the interview. Beautiful instruments! Great video!
Not only does Tim play the timpani but he also plays the trumpet
the butt trumpet.....
I’m TIM and I play the TIMpani

Thank you for the information
Very very well explained 👏🏻
I I'm playing timpani from one of my concerts for the first time this was really helpful. Thank you from a fellow protectionist.

Thanks for this video !
Its the pedal that is missing from the music keyboard. For cartoon effects of bouncing and keyboard bouncing keys... Bounce-Rebound control
Same note, different size, watch "skin"
Timpani is just thumpies :P
I wonder if Tim's last name is Pani?
His playing makes all the ladies’ pani’s drop lol
@@riffdex 🤨
Seems like a flaw if only the inner part of the circle sounds good. I wonder how one would fix that?
Tims suit makes me feel like these are actually snare drums
"What are timpani?" or "What is a timpano?" For the Italians, ha ha!
Aren’t the sticks called mallets?
I doni speaker english the pen is on the table
Just heard a rendition of Jupiter and it didn't have timpanis...soooo disappointing
What’s even the point of Jupiter then?
Umm.... I don't think the calf is going to like having you play on it's head. Just sayin'. 😜
Very nice explanation, shitty distorted sound...
