After watching this I realized you actually did miss a couple of QTEs. During the fight with mysterious foreigners and thier stronger rehashed versions in the finale, they actually have a total of 3 QTEs(not including the feel the heat). The missed QTE here involves one brother grabbing Kiryu from behinnd while the other brothers winds up for a haymaker. Dodging this causes the other brother to get punched instead. The second missing QTE is in the final fight in the PS2 version. In the original version Ryuji's three punches from his first fight is actually also recycled here as well. The reason you probably missed them is because of how situational they are. When fighting the mysterious foreigners it is possible to see only one of the three QTEs during any playthrough because how the enemy has to grab you. Since the haymaker QTE can only trigger if one brother grabs you from behind, which is typcially very rare, most will never see it. As for the original version of Ryuji's final fight I'm not sure what triggers it. Iv'e beaten the original many times and this QTE only pops up half of time. I have no frame of reference to why this is. At least in the remake they did make it different so that counts. It's kind of sad they cut the QTE's from the mysterious foreigners down but thats okay. This remake looks suberb.
Yakuza Kiwami 2: -Literally has "Extreme" in the title -Kiryu swings off a chandelier which causes it to fall down Yakuza 2: -Doesn't have "Extreme" in its title -Kiryu punches the shit out of a chandelier's chain, causing it to fall down while he jumps off of it onto a platform Which one was more extreme?

I can't believe how much better they made every aspect of already amazing game. XD
/edit even more so after seeing Warcraft 3 reforged
Playing trough the first kiwami at chapter 7. When I'm done kiwami 2 is waiting. Can't wait!!
Even though K2 probably has less Feel the heats and uses the same ones, they’re some of the most badass ones in the games.
I really love the crunchy hit sounds from the original, but the new one is definitely very pretty.
Did he really just punch the Chandelier in the original lol
Yakuza Kiwami 2:
-Literally has "Extreme" in the title
-Kiryu swings off a chandelier which causes it to fall down
Yakuza 2:
-Doesn't have "Extreme" in its title
-Kiryu punches the shit out of a chandelier's chain, causing it to fall down while he jumps off of it onto a platform
Which one was more extreme?
the ps2 version was more extremely stupid, if that’s what you mean ;_;
you ignored how kiryu jumped of the chandelier to superman punch someone in the face, and then rolled out of the way of the falling chandelier in Kiwami 2
@@harrrieee still not as extreme as repeatedly punching a chain to break it.
yakuza 2 because the combat in the ps2 games is better duh
Probably one of the most epic moments in Yakuza 2.. Fighting two tigers XD
They re-use that knee to the head way to much
If you note it's because OG 2 reused that knee/punch combo. It's supposed to be his signature move.
Isn't that his signature attack?
They even use it in smash
that the best one !
@@marcjehle2480 ...hes not even in tekken let alone smash tf?
5:16 kinda wish you put the side by side of Majima's QTE of Kiwami 2 in Yakuza 4 or 5 for the greatness :3
It’s funny how some bosses in Kiwami 2 have the same feel the heat finisher like Daigo and Majima
Majima playing chicken limbo... who boy that'd be interesting.
the old games still definitely have their own charm
Ryuji will always be the best yakuza villain, sad that he died so early in the franchise.
Ever heard of yakuza dead souls?
StółZpowyłamywanymiNogamiEdycjaGryRoku Niebieski Ye I have been around since the beginning, dead souls ain’t canon though
Only shows how Legendary Kiriyu is by the time part 3 and later games came out. He dealt with some stuff in the first two and made a crazy name for himself.
Yakuza 2: What could be worse than a tiger?
Yakuza Kiwami 2: Oh I know! Two tigers!
Never played either, but I kinda like the original more. It looks gritty and characters don't look like they're made out of chocolate.
I watch this video very often. I'm quite fond of yakuza's style of beating people up. It's also amazing how far the game has come in terms of graphics.
the power of PS2 emotion engine!
This is a TRUE remake
And it’s only 20bucks
Why did Kiryu got hit in the majima QTE in yakuza 2? You can win this QTE xD
I think he missed.
He just missed.
Now THIS is a remaster!! I am so glad they made these Kiwamis
Swag It remake
@@SpikeSpiegel96 right
I’m quite lucky I have not played the originals. If I had, I most likely would have been bias for the original.
Holy shit, this is how a remake is done. I can't wait for this!
THAT'S WHAT I CALLED A REMASTER!
William Wen it's remake.Remaster it's another thing
@@SpikeSpiegel96 Updated graphics + new comtent. I'm pretty sure it's a remaster.
@@robertbernard7844 remake...
Robert Bernard remaster is increase of resolution and fps.In very rare situation it includes updated graphics.New content is remake.Kiwami if I'm not wrong means Remake on Japanese
@@SpikeSpiegel96 it means extreme
Lowkey, the QTE were the best part of 0, I miss them in Kiwami
Overall, I think I like the original better. Kiwami 2 is more realistic but OG 2 is kind of arcadey and it always feels like Kiryu has grenades attached to his fists or something. Attacks just feel more satisfying in the original imo. Some of the animations look really cool in Kiwami 2 though, I especially like the one where Shindo attacks from behind
The Watermelon Felon kiryu looks buffer in yakuza 2.
everyone kinda does
The Watermelon Felon K2 overall has more but some ps2 ones feel like they have more weight. You have to thank the crunchier sound effects for that
jj sounds more like preference to me
@jj I played Yakuza 2 yesterday
Why in the hell did they have to change the music in kiwami 2? to give it a more cinematic experience? fuck that.
I’ve always loved how in the original Kiryu leaps into the Chandelier and just starts punching it. I really like the new cutscene though.
Original: how it happen
Kiwami: how kiryu remembers it
Not just only they need to remake 3, 4, 5 on the Yakuza series, but they need to make Kenzan Kiwami and Dead Souls Kiwami. Make the graphics, QTEs, and music score look hella sick and realistic. Especially in Dead Souls. Make them slice a zombie in half and have their guts splattered all across the pavement.
They don't need to make it realistic. That'd just ruin what one of the things the series is known for.
from what I hear 3,4 and 5 are just getting remasters not remakes so none of the core content will change in those, just graphics and maybe bugs
PS2 graphics are still amazing today.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks so.
@@sezunemizuhana3870 I always differenciate artistic direction & work from purely technical consideration. You can make an ugly games with Unreal Engine 4, and a beautifull game with a Playstation 1. Resident Evil 2 & Wipeout 3 are good examples.
@@jrock4fan I mean right now the game is ugly but before it was pretty good yeah
Even better when upscaled in PS2 emulator
I just laughed my *** off after reading the comments about him hammering the chandelier

Something I'm supposed to do when things rush me. Something to do with Tigers.
...
...
...
Oh right, Tiger Drop.
Jesus Kiryu what the hell did that chandelier say to you
the kiwami remakes were awesome
Yk2 was visually stunning and had a much better game play but Y2 the original was a far more enjoyable experience for me.
This is how you should do remake
the old one had this realistic roughness .
Kiryu : keeps punching the chandelier
Enemies : not evacuate themselves and keep shooting like nothing happens
My god this game is gorgeous.
