Wasn't ever into Starco from the start. I felt they worked better as friends and would be a testament to the show if they ended as friends rather then in a relationship by the end of the show. I still feel the same today, but I'm keeping my hopes for that low in case anything does end up getting them together. I prefer Marco with other characters, and while I used to like Tomstar, their relationship hasn't been the best recently and think Tom's character would come full circle if he broke up with Star, but they still could remain friends. Whatever happens, happens, and I'll see the show to the end. Now could Toffee PLEASE COME BACK ALREADY!

As someone who felt “meh” about the whole romance subplot, I’m glad they addressed the issues and wrapped it up. Will miss the blood moon tune though.

What Star meant with ''what if it was never the bloodmoon" was that before the bloodmoon was sealed she said "i like this" and Marco agreed

Now that the curse is gone, I want to say that Starco is a much healthier ship if it happens in canon. It’ll be genuine. It’ll be their real feelings. And even if not, they’ll be happy with other people, and that’s much better for them

but the worse part is that somehow even when the curse was 'broken' the writers somehow made a bad ending that literally made 0 sense considering magic was gone and yet two worlds collided *WTF?* i would've understood if they're was a explanation but there wasn't the whole blood moon thing should've ended in fact technically speaking starco shouldn't have even happened bc of the blood moon bc we all know tom pushed marco out of the blood moon light so i don't even understand why jarko was even broken in the first place and i would've understood if the blood moon kinda affected star and marco but in the end tom pushed marco out of the way so the blood moon should've not happened completely if there was more detail on how the blood moon worked then they're wouldn't have been anymore confusion but NOT ONLY THAT marco has shown in many seasons that he did not wan't to be with star this whole controversy could've been made and SOLVED IN ONE SEASON but instead the writers broke many key plot points in the story for example marco liking jackie for literal years yet that was ruined bc of the blood moon and startom if that is the ship name was OBLITERATED bc of the blood moon HECK both tom and star had more history than star and marco ever had so basically the ship story was that star abd nrci had perfectly good relationships with other people that they have known way longer but then when star goes into the blood moon ball marco being the absolute idiot he is ruins everything for tom and decided to dance with star they play tom as this absolute evil creature that is a hothead when in reality he deserves to be mad he planed all of this for the one he loved but then marco comes in and ruins EVERYTHING tom even gave star that headband that we have seen on star since SEASON 1 but in the end star even though she has worn it since season 1 doesn't care about it at all and then both star and tom breakup even after EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED

Your ending speech describes my feelings perfectly. You shouldn't be forced to be with one person, and absolutely no one else. You deserve to have the free will to choose who you want to fall in love with, and who you don't want to be with

Also, I agree with your point about Tom. If Tom actually succeeded in his Blood Moon Curse plan it would have basically been a non-consensual relationship between them both without any regards for Star's current feelings. That would've been an utterly disgusting move that would make Tom pretty irredeemable The fact that Tom's plan failed help his character grow from the selfish, temperamental jerkwad he was back in Season 1. Tom managed to humble himself and try to make up for all his past mistakes and showed that he was worthy of being in a relationship with Star and become close friends with Marco despite their earlier rivalry. He seems like a such a better person now and it sucks because the showrunners seem to be trending toward a final relationship between Star and Marco (which is fine, if a tad overdone). This episode I feel was a reset so that Star and Marco could form a natural relationship that didn't have the subtext of being controlled by a curse.
There’s a theory that the reason they forgot the end of the dance in this episode is that that’s when Star and Marco fell in love. And since the severing stone takes that memory in exchange, they have a gap in their memory. I personally believe that to be true, but that the only reason they fell in love was due to the feelings forced on them by the Blood Moon.
Clearly that would still count as Tom’s gramps is stated to have the same Blood Moon curse with his late wife and at some point broke the curse. He probably truly loved her based on how upset he was at losing the memory of falling for her, but it doesn’t mean that the Blood Moon didn’t play a part in them falling in love in the first place.
Now that I’m writing this, it struck me that maybe that’s why the severing stone takes that memory. The Blood Moon Curse directly causes a couple to fall in love. So in order to break the curse you need to essentially dig up the weed at the root. Just food for thought.
Also, I feel like The Blood Moon Curse binding souls is based on that theory that the Moon (irl) can control your thoughts and emotions. Or not. Just my thoughts

Me after Season 4 Episode 19: I really wish that was true.
Its Funny the bloodmoon ball was the 8th episode in the first season and now the 8th in this season there are so many parallels plus this dosent kill Starco as said by many the servering stone made them forget the moment they fell in love but right after they tell them about said bloodmoon ball shouldnt that get erased plus they still showed they had feelings for each other even though there bonds were being seperared the blood moon would not have any effect in a memeory star even says this feeling is new so I see it that now the curse is lifted they could actually be in a real realtionship somthings going to happen that inches star and marco naturally and i believe thats endgame plus the booth photograph is still around that will be the test if star keeps it then we know somthings up plus were not done with the bloodmoon rember Marcos cheeck marks (the red moons) there is a theory going around that marco is from mewmian ancestory we even get a clue from last episode when the libarian said she always whanted to fight a mewiman what a weird thing to sat hmmmm so in conclusion Starcos not dead it can become a new natural romatic relationship and were not done with the bloodmoon #Starco4Life i know its alot of reading but i recommend that you watch either the Roundtables video or cartoon apcoylpes theories about it im agianst there relationship being forced but i do believe in the crew they listen to the fans and I have faith but everyone can have there own oppinion and i can respect that but as for me im team Starco

One major factor that many here are forgetting, is that the Blood Moon Ball episode wasn’t the episode that they both fell in love. It was just their souls being bonded, the times they would fall for each for much later in the series, and at different times.Star in Bon Bon, and Marco’s feelings wouldn’t start changing till a Face the Music and StarCrushed. With Lava Lake Beach having Tad telling Marco.
I just had a really fun idea! Please hear me out blue, I'm not to invested in any ship. What if how the blood moon works is it picks a couple that is actually in love to bind thier souls. Star and marco were mesmerized by each other at the dance, before the light hit them. My idea basically is star and marco fell in love during the dance, and that is why the blood moon picked them. And this is also why they had no feelings after they lost thier memory, because they lost that extremely important moment of thier relashionship! I think it's interesting, and like my idea, I hope you enjoyed it at least a little! Thanks Blue, your videos bring me so much joy, and they're always so nice to see!
I'm right there with ya about the whole curse/Starco thing. Just because Starco is based off of Daron and her husband doesn't mean that they'll end up together, just like many other characters based off of the creator or people the creator knows, there's a degree of artistic license. I don't get why so many fans think the Blood Moon was 'romantic' or whatever. Neither had a choice. There may have been genuine feelings, but they didn't really have other options as the curse would prevent those for long.

This is the first time we saw the BM curse affect Star, when she and Marco were in sync and with the cereals, so far we have only seen it affect Marco. Bon Bon, the Booth episode etc.
They also talked in sync in the episode of the Blood Moon Ball.
Okay so. Before the Blood Moon Ball Marco at the very least had a crush on Star. He was jealous about her going in the first place and decided to follow her there to be her “hero”
As for the whole Jarco thing, I think she bailed out because she didn’t fit in Marco’s world at the moment. If the Blood Moon really prevented them from being with others, we would’ve saw it when Tom and Star kissed or when Kelly and Marco kissed.
Likewise, Star wrote about her crush on Marco when she first got to Earth. That was also before the Blood Moon.
The Blood Moon effectively screwed them over by blurring the lines between what was there already and what wasn’t.
Marco not wanting to have a crush on Star probably stems from the fact that he somewhat rejected her initially and now she’s with Tom - who is his friend. It’s the same for Star, she’s dating Tom so having a thing for Marco is inappropriate as all Hell

I’m glad this curse is gone, and I dunno how I feel about Starco still. It least if it happens now it will be their choice. However I really don’t like how Star has been treating Tom, not telling him a lot of this stuff, and kind of ditching him, even if it was the curse happening. I really would like TomStar to work. Tom has really changed and I think those two were really cute together. I also think Marco Kelly is cute. I also think it’s important to show a girl and a guy can be super close best friends and not have to be romantic. The thing that has be worded was Star’s line about it not being the curse and that kissing picture that is still out there. I think it’s still likely to happen, even though I agree with you that it would feel rushed and probably forced. I hope these two remain friends, but we only have a few episodes left so I guess we will see.
They clearly still like each other. All the Blood Moon did was link them. And even then, Marco still wanted to be with Jackie. It wasn't until Star confessed how she felt to him that he started to show signs of liking her back. He was with Jackie just fine until then. That showed no signs of having to do with the moon. All that did back then was alert him to when she was in danger.
I think the main thing that the Jackie Marco stuff showed was that things were just missing in his life without Star and him saying "you're my best friend" to Jackie pretty much sealed the deal there making Jackie realize who he'd actually come to care about. That was less the moon and what I figured was "yeah, he's been on all these adventures now. There's no way in hell he's gonna be the same anymore. He's going to want that." It's one of those once you've been to war you're changed things. It's the type of life you've grown accustomed to. After that not everyone can just slip back into a normal life.
The main thing that would drive Starco to be the conclusion is the entirety of the series and all the adventures Star and Marco have gone on together. Yes it might seem annoying at how Star flip-flops constantly, but them getting together would just be the culmination of what all they've been through pretty much. Obviously arguments can be made for any of the ships, but that's just my take on the Starco thing.
And I gotta say, I HIGHLY doubt people would get their hearts broken and stop being friends. Tom may feel a bit bad, but he'd obviously respect the two at this point and Kelly, on top of possibly going back to Tad since she won't block him, JUST NOW started actually being with Marco out of the need to simply "get over" their crushes.
Honestly, all of that relationship nonsense pales in comparison to the actual plot though, and I'm hoping they get to that at some point. Maybe Toffee...maybe Seth...maybe Marco being the one to save the day when the wand is lost to the Princesses or some crap.

I feel what Star said was significant to how Starco will be portrayed by the end of the show.

In a way I take this to be a sign as if Star cared for Marco before the dance and the fact that as soon as she mentioned it the moon is shattered immediately as to having a more stretched idea of their deep feelings toward each other.
I do agree with Blue that the show will do some bullsh@t at the end with the moon to make Starco happen and that Starco should be voluntary not cursed 😳

My hope and theory for the end of the show is that Marco is the heir to the Mewni thrown. I know that sounds crazy but bits of evidence have been thrown out there.
Clue Number Uno- Marco could use the wand and had cheek marks when he used it
Clue number dos- he has a mole exactly were Meteora does.
Clue number tres- the librarian called him a Mewman ( which doesn’t really sound like a joke )
I feel like Marco could be the clue to fix everything. If he is the true heir Eclipsa could live happily with Globgor ( she has shown carelessness of ruling quite a bit ) Also he could fix the whole butterfly family problem by in the future getting with star. ( I agree if this happens in the time they have left it would seem rushed)
I believe this will somehow be revealed with Marco Jr being born. I also believe that meteora still has her memory’s and is playing baby to get the thrown ( I also think she’s the one that tried to yada yada Eclipsa). Globgor was a size shifter so it’s possible that meteora is doing the same thing. I think that’s going to be the conflict for the next halve if the show.

Looking at this reaction video years later is insane. The blood moon finally stated as a problem in the show by the characters was a blessing. Until the writers decided pull an uno reverse card at the last second. 🙄

I like how this episode recontextualizes the seeming throwaway joke line of Tom saying his grandpa was a lady killer. A few episodes ago it was as if him saying "lady killer" then getting uncomfortable was an allusion to the guy actually being a "lady KILLER" but with knowing how he's been feeling about the Blood Moon Curse and learning that his grandpa was cursed with his grandma back in their day and went through a severing of their own that he now regrets, the new implication is that he may have been the promiscuous version of "lady killer" after all.
Talk about a multi-layered episode that everyone hated on first viewing. ...Well, except for me, cause I knew that lava lake house episode was going to have some payoff down the line, and I'm betting this episode still isn't the end of those we'll be able to trace back there when all is said and done.

I think the only one affected by curse is Marco. If you pay attention, he is the one that adresses he does not want to have feelings and try to be someone else other than Star. However, i feel like Star wanted to broke curse because it is not right to be forced and she did not want to have feeling because she is dating with Tom. I bet she liked Marco before Blood Moon but Marco did not. I have no idea what should happen next but i can say that ship war is not over.

Like you said, the curse ruined a lot of stuff in both of their lives, but it ESPECIALLY messed up Marco with his practically life long feelings for Jackie. So, as a result of the curse, Marco became obsessed with Star. As a result of the curse, Marco gave up with Jackie. And as a result if the curse, MARCO MOVED TO MEWNIE! What if the new main conflict is Marco reverting to his season 1 self. He no longer wants to be in danger or get involved with all of the Butterfly family drama. The only reason he tolerated all of that was to stay with Star! And if this is the case, then we may see him go back to Earth soon, back home to his mother, father, and...*new baby brother.* I mean, come on, Marco Jr. HAS to have some kind of relevance, right!? Honestly, I feel like starco shippers forget they're like 15 years old. What is the need that your ship become reality now? I personally don't have a ship preference, but I wouldn't like that Star and Marco find the love of their lifes at 15 because I don't feel that's a normal thing in relationships (I know it can happen, but Disney is so full of that shit so we don't need more of it). I wouldn't mind if Star and Marco end together when they're older, I mean if they live their 'younghood' (is that a word? Sorry english is not my natural language) independently, have some different couples on those years, and after a while, when they're on their twenties, they find each other again and become a couple. The show have so much interesting things beside the ships, and I think that is very possible that starco become canon at the end of the series, so just enjoy all the hard work that has been put in the show. Ah, by the way, there's nothing wrong in 'wanting' a ship to be canon, the wrong thing is 'demanding' the ship to be canon, or thinking you 'need it'. You don't need it. You want it a lot, and you would be really happy if it become a reality, but you don't need it, you can live without it.

Hey blue, I have a prediction of what might happen near the series finale. In “Down By The River” More Miumans are settling with River and Moon, which makes me think they are gonna start a new village.
Some disagreements with the monsters ensue and BOOM. War. Then Star And Marco are gonna be forced to choose a side.
Then the MHC might intervene, some magic is expelled, one accidental blast, and BOOM. Globgor is free.

I still question: How was Janna able to sever her soul in half and what was the point in doing that? Would she had to have given up the memory of when she started loving herself or something? Does it mean that she has no emotional attachment to herself? Or was it all just a weird thing to make that demon/half-demon joke? What?
Also, technically Marco isn't in a relationship at this point. He and Kelly just kind of gave themselves the role as each other's cushions to fall back on. Then, a few episodes later, Marco basically tells her that he doesn't need her to fall back on anymore.

I just wanna say, it’s Autism awareness week. I have autism, and you silly little video make me happy.
I still believe Starco is endgame. Hint: The Severing stone was supposed to erase the memory of which they fell in love. They both BELIEVED it was the blood moon. But who knows? maybe they had feelings way BEFORE the blood moon ball. We all saw Starco happen since episode 1 with their bond and their chemistry is what makes the show. That is why the line "What if it was never the blood moon" because they obviously had some sort of feelings for each other right from the beginning, not from the blood moon ball.

Well, I mean, considering that Relicor was heartbroken and sobbing because he severed his love with his wife centuries ago, it's kinda clear that the blood moon doesn't erase all feelings. Just the moment itself.

I have been rooting for the Tom and Star ship. Tom is pretty cool you know, and deserves his happy ending. I do also like Marco and Kelly, which it seems to be leaning towards as well. Everything works out well in my opinion actually.

Eclipsa , Mewmei , Moon and she hide Book of spell last part , Too many thing to focus outside they relationship , She even SHOULD stop Love relationship with anyone , the way she treat tom is not a good girlfriend should do ,but she have so many thing to do right now , until she can handle thing well .not so busy at the point (it mean end of story) , she might can become better person in a relationship at that time come .

I won't be utterly upset if Starco is the way it ends but, the other ships we've seen are much better at this point as Star and, Marco really do feel like they're just really close friends, at first I liked it even up to the beach episode and, I didn't hate Tom for being with Star because Tom is great but, my feelings on the ships were changing probably because I know how wholesome Tom is as a character then, Kelly had that episode with Marco and, I couldn't even anymore with Starco... Star and, Tom with Kelly and, Marco warms my heart.
(Also, I love how Marco went to Eclipsa and, Eclipsa hugs him... such good feelings radiating off of them.)

my theory is that it WAS the blood moon that stopped them from separating BUT even if the blood moon didnt get involved they would have feelings for eachother anyway so i think they are going to develop a natural like for each other even with the blood moon gone because thats just how its meant to be or some shit

Great analysis, Blue. Frankly, at the beginning of the series and season 2 I was just like you about Starco, it seemed a possible natural outcome that wouldn't have looked forced and I was even a supporter of it. But the more it progressed, especially after third season... Even if it wasn't for the Blood Moon at all (and it is an important part of the equation, so it's not like you can throw it away entirely) I felt increasingly not too into anymore the thought of a "classic" ending like that on the ship element. They still have a good relationship, I mean, it's practically one of the focuses of the series, but I feel like the old TRULY good "chemistry" between them has kinda... "Flowed away". As you point out, there are still some hints through the episode itself that the authors are still at least not riding out to that path ("What if it was never the Blood Moon", "I can't believe that all this has been because of some dumb curse", the dialogue with Eclipsa); but unless it will be very convincing as it will be presented, it will just kinda feel a bit disappointing. So, yeah... I hope they won't screw up.
And... Aside from all this, we're at episode 8 of the last season and Toffee still hasn't returned and still no hints at even the esistence of Seth! I mean, I think we all know that at least the first is on his way... But if they'll gonna be stuck just in the last few episodes, considering all the points the show has to touch before it ends, it could kinda mess the experience.
