Yes that's a wise move Cliff, saying that I fitted that FC6250HX on a Trex 500 that I made DFC and it worked faultlessly, I fitted the 470lp with a Microbeast Pro which worked fab too😄👍

Have any ideas as to why I cannot get it to even display correctly? I'm running Windows 10 64 bit. Solid state drives and 16 gig of ram. It only pops up with a battery size option. It simply won't work :( This is going on my 700.

@@IansRCExploits I am using the Spektrum Cable and USB adapter SMPA3030 which they say will work. Issue is I cannot seem to get a working version of Studio X. It either downloads the XM which is for cell phones or old outdated ones that I cannot even register on :(

Looks awesome , very clean built. I had the same fbl on one of my other heli (same size). It didn't perform good as the tail kept falling downwards when pumping pitch stick. After a lot of trial-&-error i replaced it with another brand fbl unit.

I have been flying my OMP M1 and M2 for a while without the stabilization. I would like to build a helicopter and the Align Trex 470lp could be my choice. If I do get the 470lp, would there be a stabilization button for my first few flights?
Hi, that all depends on what Flybarless cintroler you get!! If you get the Spektrum FC6250HX you would get SAFE that you could put on a panic button, with the BeastX and Ikon as standard you wouldn't get Stabilisation mode and would have to pay to upgrade both of them to include stability mode!! So in light of this the Spektrum system seems more expensive than the other choices but when you factor in the cost to upgrade the others they come out about the same!! I have never used the Ikon but have used both the Spektrum and BeastX offerings 😀👍

I won't be taking off with safe but I probably will put safe on it but before that I've got to overcome the pitch angle problems!! I'm scratching my head at the moment as I can't get to why they are unbalanced and I was meticulous in my set up I think it's something electronic that's causing the issue!! You’re right, it has become such a common problem with the Blade Fusion helicopters, on the forums it is known as the “Fusion Death Roll” It’s to bad the are discontinuing the AR7210 which works great, I trust that one on my 800. But any new builds, I have started using the Ikon 2. What are the other 2 machines you have with the FC6250HX installed?
By they way great video, watched because I found great condition used one for $350 Canadian I was thinking about buying. Something to practice new 3D maneuvers with before trying it with my bigger much more expensive machines😁

As something to try on one of your helis you dont fly, grab yourself an Ardupilot compatible flight controller and give that a blast as an FBL controller. They can do full gps and compass guided stuff inc RTH but you dont need to do that and you can use them simply as a FBL controller without a GPS and Compass and you just tell the software to allow arming without them, Ardupilot allows absolute control over literally every conceivable adjustment and trim and ive been very impressed with the heli setup even though i already knew Ardupilot from planes. you can pick up Omnibus F4 pro Boards for only £15 from china, i have loads of them and even have one controlling my Ardupilot Antenna tracker!

@@IansRCExploits for the Ardupilot based 450 I've been working on, the fc has gone under the frame, it isn't a big fc and does not look out of place there. The gyros are all integrated into the fc, only GPS and compass are external if you want to run them (I am) and that can go on the location traditionally used for a gyro on a flybar heli. The only thing you do have to add is a regulator to power the 5v rail for the servos but tiny 3A regulators are like £2 from China, the rest of the board is powered by its own internal regulator directly from the lipos voltage and the esc connects to the board on the other side of the current sensor which if used for fpv or autonomous flight would give you voltage and current on screen as well as all the other parameters including artificial horizon but although I'm fully kitting it out, I don't actually intend on using it for fpv. The GPS is more for a party trick than anything else and that any craft with GPS make my on screen satellite mapping work on my transmitter which is just too cool to not have, that same script also provides battery, current, altitude, artificial horizon ect, ect on my tx too, open tx rocks and I can't believe I took so long to make the move! If you ever do, avoid the jumper T16 or T18, both have issues, get the radiomaster TX16s, it's the better radio and Im very pleased with it unlike my jumper T16 which has already developed two faults I've had to correct and it's just a backup radios these days.

Hey Ian - great video 👍🏻🚁 I’ve been practicing small XK 6 channel helis to get ready for my new Align T-Rex 450LP Dominator. Nobody can tell me if it has 3 gyros, for practicing in NORMAL mode - NOT doing Idle up yet 😬! Any ideas? Surely all modern helis have gyros these days. I just don’t want my maiden flight to go mental & crash lol. Also, trying to work out the expo values on the Align A10 transmitter. Does a lower value make it less aggressive or would a higher value make it less aggressive. Different radios do it the other way round, could be a fatal for a beginner ! Thanks buddy ✅

That Gyro on your Heli will only make up for the flybar and control your tail servo it will also counteract the affects of the wind causing the Heli to drift!! I think Futaba are the odd ones out as far as expo is concerned but don't let it bother you as I have 2 Futaba radios and they work great😄👍

@@IansRCExploits Yep, been there, done that and for a similar number of years as yourself. It’s truly addictive! I’d say I’m ‘competent’ but by no means an expert. My favourite size is 450, any larger is too expensive and my experience is with 4 channels. But 6ch variable pitch has always been my goal. Over the past 12 months of lockdown I’ve spent a while getting acquainted with small 3D helis like the XK K124. A big difference, high head speeds - love it! I won’t be going inverted anytime soon! The good news is I’ve learnt about throttle, pitch, gyro gain, expo etc. They say larger helis are less twitchy & as you said, the 450LP is advertised as a beginners heli but I’m not taking any chances. Cautiously preparing for the maiden flight/crash 😬. The guy who offered me a deal on the FC6250HX said the same as you, without a Spektrum radio I might be better off with the BeastX. Less expensive too. Not sure what it offers or how the sizes compare but I don’t want to buy yet another radio right now 👍🏻

I think I've found out what was wrong the ball links on the Pitch servo are very tight so I've ordered a ball joint reamer to loosen them up a bit, I have checked and re checked all my servos and swashplate and it is almost perfect so I'm sure it's these links binding!! Yes Delbert I'll be careful Lol I've changed the Gyro to a BeastX and I've set it up with a sport setting rather than 3D much more relaxed pitch and lower head speed 👍😄
Yes I've changed the flybar unit I've fitted a BeastX that Spektrum Fc6250hx was expensive rubbish I had no such issues with the BeastX and it set up fine!! I'm not new to Heli's Delbert I've built and flown a Hirobo Shuttle, Trex 450, 500 and 600 all of which flew amazing, the binding was probably being caused by some tight ball links!! But I bought a reaming tool and their good now!! But thanks for your concerns if you notice in the video I say that I was having issues with that controler £180's worth of Junk 👍😄

Have you had any problems with the Spektrum FC6250HX Flybarless controller? They are not very reliable, I wouldn’t risk using it.
I didn't as I couldn't even get it to set up correctly, I swapped it for a Microbeast Plus😄👍
What's strange is I have the FC6250HX in two other Helie's and it works perfectly!! It tends to play up in the Blade Helie's on the factory settings😄👍

A Trex 450 in a scale fuselage and a Trex 500 both converted to DFC!! And the Gyro's work well but on my 330s it has been a real nightmare 😖👍

Yes I've changed the flybar unit I've fitted a BeastX that Spektrum Fc6250hx was expensive rubbish I had no such issues with the BeastX and it set up fine!! I'm not new to Heli's Delbert I've built and flown a Hirobo Shuttle, Trex 450, 500 and 600 all of which flew amazing, the binding was probably being caused by some tight ball links!! But I bought a reaming tool and their good now!! But thanks for your concerns if you notice in the video I say that I was having issues with that controler £180's worth of Junk 👍😄

No not yet Delbert!! We are in lockdown in the UK so no flying for me😣
