The red irises with black sclera is used in the actual RWBY series for Salem and so he used it for all his other Grimm character artwork. Neo might resemble Kenaki here, with one normal eye and one black and red one, but that's coincidence as the actual Neo character had heterochromia and her eyes switch back and forth between colors, and so a Grimm version of her has that heterochromia as well.
