    i think Evil Eyes should have the same throw velocity that rams Bu Gi's do so you cant frisbee it across site or put it up too high this still makes Maestro useful. since the only way to make him useful nowadays is place it over a hatch and pop the hatch with the bailiff (not preferable though)

      Well he's stronger then ram so he can toss it fairly easy not too high, but reasonable height. Also the gadget can be made of a lightweight composite material so tossing it up with that size is plausible.

    I think with regards to differentiating from Valkery there is also the number of cameras and throw distance to think about. I imagine throwing an evil eye is more like tossing a Ram bugi, rather than Valkery's drone-like throw, so you have more limits in how high they can be.

      yeah that was exactly what I was thinking. you cant put evil eyes on the ceiling or high up on the walls but you can put valk cams anywhere, making valkyrie and her ability still useful

      If the throw was similar to a c4 throw it would allow you to put the Evil Eye in more locations but it wouldn’t reach Valk Cams

    As a maestro main, he definitely has dropped off, but mostly because of gonne 6 and Brava, the emp and shattered glass can be played around by turning the cam up or around whenever they go for it, just the fact that almost every op can destroy them single handedly is what makes it rough

      @Saltyoldguy- it makes sense to have it in the game , with all the bulletproof utility, the issue lies in how well balanced maestro was designed, it may not have seemed that way when he was launched but if you think about it compared to any other utility op maestro now is to balanced, melusi has 3 banshees that are set and forget, fenrir has 5 Mines, goyo has 4 canisters that aren't electronic, echo drones can move, Valk cams are small and throwable, maestro has 3, talking about when the season drops, stationary, player controlled turrets that are electronic, so Brava can hack, it's a good gadget just not as OP as it needs to be to be relevant

    You do realize that if you look up with the maestro cam, the glass cannot get smacked, and even if its EMPd, you look up before it happens and they cant shoot the opening because its not facing them...He has potential if youre active on the cam. The only interaction I hate is brava hacking it.

    Great idea, defense needs more resources to counter attackers, but I think being able to trow it anywhere would be too OP, it shoud be a heavy gadget like the Ram's bugi but a little lighter

      I disagree, I think that it would be fine and not too op because attackers can still use emps, gonne6, explosives and more. So I think it would level it out a little bit more

What you’re saying is not a good argument against making a weak operator viable. A better solution is to give buffs to the attacking team, you don’t need to keep weak defenders weak.

    Attacker Repick also had a huge impact on Maestro. Players can swap to a counter immediately meaning there is literally no way of stopping his cams from being countered. Before this system, ops were locked in meaning you didnt know if they had a maestro and thus might or might not bring the utility needed to clear them. This meant you bring ops on the off-chance X operator is picked.
    Attacker Repick hurt the game the most out of EVERYTHING

      attacker repick was needed, defenders always had the upperhand because they could just swap sites and suddenly you have to attack club house basement with thermite and kali

    I LOVE THIS ❤. There's a few things I'd like to add onto your idea :
    - first, totally agree with people's "heavy throw" bu-gi idead.
    - Make the punch an obstruction to sight instead of completely obscuring it (so that you can still see and ping what's going on fairly accurately, but the punch greatly harm its range of vision for example)
    - Give him one more cam ? I mean since the meta currently gives attackers way more utility to destroy them, sounds fair, especially since brava (huge counter) could benefit from this and create a lot of Maestro vs Brava tension into the early-mid round.

    Also can't wait to flex that zombie board game skin again hahaha

    Rather than making a more portable Evil Eye, why not make it more automated? Enemy operators who walk into Evil Eyes vision gets yellow pinged every 3, 5, 9 seconds, but it can still be manually controlled and used as its turret mode. When the current owner takes manual control of it, laser shots hard ping enemy operators constantly as long as they continuously fire on said enemy operators.

    My suggestion would be to have a 'Fortify' mechanic when using his cam. This would add a small shutter in front of the glass panel and would power off the camera. When pressing the 'Fortify' key, the shutter will close protecting the glass of the camera completely. It would also completely turn off the camera meaning it cannot be used to see through and no audio is gained. When Fortified, the glass cannot be accessed so cant be cracked. Brava cant hack it as its off and no longer mechanical (like Lesion mines now) and it cannot be seen by IQ. EMP effects have ZERO impact. It can still be destroyed by explosives! Fortify has to be triggered by Maestro and is not automatic whenever you leave the camera. Whenever he wants to use his Evil Eyes, he will have to press to defortify and then all his current functionality, mechanics and counters apply.

    I think instead of reworking Maestro's evil eyes to make them throwable, they could also try allowing him to move them while they are placed on the wall, like those toy RC cars that can drive on walls and ceilings with a little fan that pushes them down. It would have to be slow, and he shouldn't be able to go around corners or change the wall it's placed on if it is already deployed, but I bet an experienced Maestro player could get really creative with their cam placements by being able to just open up their phone and use WASD to move their cameras around.

    To be clear, i actually still love maestro right now. There are a few sites (mostly border) where i view him as a highly valued gadget.
    At this point in the game his gadget is typically only countered 1/5 matches (personal experience) and even then the counters only do it 2/3 matches where a counter is present (mostly brava).
    My main problem with anti breakable glass and throwing it is brava.
    On a successful hack (which is frequent, especially when doing off-site cameras) occurs, maestro and other defenders RARELY have that same ability to counter him. This is because all the people with impacts are usually roaming and either dead or not that spot.
    Besides that, its just not easy to melee someone who is decent at evil eye use without opening up to get shot in the back by Brava.
    Personally, i feel like evil eye is in a decent place, however maybe a bit higher damage compared to how it was on release vs now would help/making it easier for maestro himself to remove evil eyes that have been hacked.

    Give 3 different Evil Eyes to the Maestro: Evil Frisbee (Throw the Evil Eye at the wall and that's it). Evil Twins (Place the Evil Eye manually on an armored wall and make it become like Zero's camera, being able to see from both sides). Evil Wheels (Evil Eye now becomes a slow-moving, armored drone). And also give the Maestro a motion detector that plays Ave Maria when an enemy gets close.

    They could also make evil eyes throwable but heavy similar to rams gadget. So you can throw it and make it out of arms reach but not super high up like a valk cam could be hidden.

    It depends on where and how you place his Evil Eyes. One particular spot I used them for is Bank when you were defending Staff/Open area. One I'd place by vaulting onto the staffroom counter and mounting it as high as possible on the wall. The other would be in the other room where there is a small mountable cabinet with some paper files on it, and again would be mounted as high as possible. This would make it hard for people to melee them to break to the glass, and if they did you could raise the camera up so they couldn't actually hit the glass. The issue that made him less desirable for me was Brava. Too easy to spot the cams. He still has one of the best guns on Def though.

    A lot of people are saying make it throwable to get out of melee range but super heavy so you can't put it on the ceiling and in insane spots which I really like.
    However I want to give an idea that I haven't seen anyone post yet. A buff to its survivability when not in use at the cost of a delay to being able to use it.
    Make it so that it still hase to be bolted down like it currently is. However when it's not in use it has a protective hard lense/case over the glass to keep it from being punched. It would take a little bit of time to open the lense to see and even more to open the second lense to shoot the laser. You could possibly even give the outer case a visual cloak effect like the old lesion mines did (it being larger would make it easier to see the shimmer) when its not being used. Everything else about it would remain the same except it would cloak and/or have a second lense that has to open up before seeing which would also decloak it if given the cloak. It would still have all the same counters, even when cloaked, but be less likely to be made useless by someone walking up and breaking the glass when you aren't using it. But if someone sees you use it they could wait for you to use it again and break its glass or destroy it even when closed with the right gadgets.
    I don't think it's enough of a change to make him a must pick especially with the slower time to access the camera feed and laser. But decreasing the times it'll break when you aren't using it will definitely make him a better pick.

    what always pisses me off as Echo main is that you aren´t able to move the cam around freely after you die or as another player. when maestro get´s such a buff which i´d agree with in the field of ideas already told in the comments (such as bugi throw distance), i think they should adress the issue with echo. another player should not be able to move the maestro cam around as well. the movement obstruction is literally the only thing pissing me off on echo rn. apart from that he´s perfect

    I love maestro, he's such an interesting character both lore-wise and gameplay-wise. His gadget perfectly exemplifies what siege is all about, creativity. Then they slowly started punishing you not for playing badly but instead just for playing maestro. I really hope they do something with him because he deserves a lot more love

    I won't say I know enough on this subject since I don't play Maestro but I can easily see that this would make it OP
    You are making it unpunchable with extra steps since anywhere up high enough is out of reach, it also means that Sledge is no longer a counter since out of reach of punch is also out of reach of the hammer.
    And now beyond making it unpunchable you have added extra utility by giving it more locations.

    Imo a better rework would be letting him detonate his cams like Flores drones, so they can still be destroyed from a distance with his current counters, but to get close and break the glass would be a lot more risky.

    Hear me out. Revert alot of his nerfs to the evil eye. The problem with it back in day was the lack of counterplay unless like you said you brought one of the 4 ops to counter.

    If we modify Maestro's evil eye camera to allow for more flexibility, versatile, and creative placement, we also must make it overheat faster. This would prevent Maestro from just using the his cameras as a tool to deny the defuser plant and potentially eliminating one or more of the attacking players from the game to a more breach-denying operator as he once was.

    Another thing you failed to touch on is that the game also now allows for the attackers to repick based on what info they get in the drone phase. Before they had to bring one of those 4 ops under the assumption the enemy had a maestro. I also think when it comes to Brava that she more needs a nerf rather than Maestro a buff. Brava i don't think people really understand how broken she is because her gun and gadget don't fit the TDM meta the game is in right now. Once the TDM meta dies down, i fully expect the players to see just how broken she really is.

      Brava needs to have only 2 hacks per drone for a total of 4 and force her to actually choose what utility to deny/steal from defenders instead of hacking like half of the defenders utility.

    also another way to prevent maestro from replacing valk is to make his evil eyes harder to throw. like a nitro cell for example, so you couldnt throw it in ridiculous places as easily or at all

    Could you imagine instead of throwing it if it was a spike ball that could roll around like a drone and climb walls but while moving would make it easily destryoable by bullets. Or maybe even give it the ability to have a zip line attachment so it can slide on that zip line from 1 side of the room to another. Or maybe just shoot a zip line at the roof in a room and you can move the camera up and down for different angles. I honestly hate the areas we can currently only put his cameras as well and fell they definitely need more options of where you can place them and or be able to control them like a drone or in a different fashion or maybe an option to have another shield that can close with less visibility but indestructible to explosives and melee it'll make it take more time to unlock to use against attackers but can be used as an indestructible camera. Or maybe for all those who want to slap the camera they should make them detonate like a flame charge and if your too close there's a chance you die so even after death of the camera it can at least deny entry through select areas for a select amount of time. Or maybe allow it to have more types of fire power such as the gernade launcher or flame arrows it can flash people stun people shoot smokes shoot flames zap players maybe as a last ditch resort give it I shotgun shell if someone gets to close that you can take a huge chunk of health of them.

    obviously walking back the melee counter is the most obvious fix since there's impact emps and gonne 6 for every flex. but we also need to remember this is Ubisoft. By the time they announce a rework it will take 18 months for it to show up in the live server (look at Tachanka- went for over a year since it was revealed to when it went live)

    Have him throw it with the same weight that RAM’s BU-GI has. Because it’s large and heavy. So you CAN throw it up but not all the way up to the ceiling

    I really like the idea, I’d be down for that rn. But I feel like that would make Valk completely useless aside from the fact that her cameras aren’t as big and she’s got one more camera than Maestro. I think they should either remove the shatter effect or give him 1 or 2 more cameras. Also a 1.5 would be dope, not necessary but his lmg needs love

    Ubisoft just needs to rework the Attacker repick system somehow. Before Attacker repick, players were incentivised to bring a diverse range of gadgets that way they could handle as many defender obstacles as possible; now attackers can just directly counter any defender they see. Every Maestro game has a Brava and every Valkyrie game has a Dokkaebi. I think that Attacker repick should stay in some form because it promotes a better balance between attacking and defending, but it seems at least a little too strong at the moment. Maybe make it so that there is a limited pool to repick from. Or maybe just make it so that every defender gadget is good enough that it needs to be countered like Fenrir.

    To be honest, an evil eye being throwable makes him super broken, like really broken despite of all the nerfs to him. He is technically a valk cam but worse. I just think they should back track the shattering of the glass.

    Imo Maestro should simply get a ladder (+ sledge should get range buff). You could place big old chunky maestro cams on the roofs. Further more you should need to pouch it 4 times to actually crack the glass, its just unrealistic that bulletproof glass shatters from one scratch. In addition to this every punch to the glass makes its less usable. Furthermore it should be able to resist one explosive so ash would have to use up her whole ammo and gonne-6 would not be able to one shot it. Lastly it should get secondary EMP that does not require opening glass.

    I see this as a replacement to valks cams even tho that they are bigger, I was thinking that the evil eyes will have a dome of armor that will protect the cams from being shattered and then will open up either when maestro or a teammate uses it but closes when not being used, yet keep the fact that he has to physically place them rather than throwing them

    As much as I'd love for Meastro to throw his cameras, that just can't be a thing. It'd be awesome to have such a vantage point but then Sledge, Maverick, and even emps wouldn't do much. Ranged stuff like Ash, Zofia, Kali, Brava, and the gonne six could still get it but it's still the wrong area to focus on. I think they should revert it to how it was when they made it open slightly from emps. They should take away the glass smashing and even bravas hacking. They should also give him a 3rd camera to further make him into a utility waster. So while valkyrie would be used more for the cameras actual vision and stealth, maestro would be used to deny breaches or pushes and waste utility. Also his LMG is good and all but it should get a ranged scope. Overall maestro needs changes but it should be thought of carefully. Maybe if it is thrown it could be fine but it should be thrown like a nitro, a "heavy" throw, not like a cross country baseball

    Throwable evil eye leads to multiple balance issue especially combined with tricky spots/ one side spot etc.
    Just add evil eye to 3 or increase rate of fire, will easily make a difference.

      They won’t make a difference. The whole issue is attackers can deny them way too easily. Making them more powerful will do nothing when you still cannot use them.

    I dont think it would be the best of ideas, but if the issue is many counter to Maestro, maybe just buff its resistence to explosives. Like, one explosive shatter and when shattered, another explosive would destroy it.

    i think it should be a high hp (maybe 200 health) mounted turret controlled by ai or dead team mates similar to old tachanka (you can still be of help to ur team if u were first picked early into round)

    I disagree that the shattered glass mechanic is the problem. The „problem“ is that Attack now has way more utility clearing capabilities (which is GOOD overall!). Just makes certain operator playstyles less viable than they used to be.
    Your argument of „now they just need to look at the cam while someone else hard breaches“ has always been true. The reason Maestro was so unreasonably effective in the beginning was because people hadn‘t adapted yet. Same with old Kapkan: used to be a monster, then was so bad that Uni needed to completely rework him. The problem wasn‘t the game changing, it was the players learning

    One thing I like to do with Maestro is to try and get on tables or chairs to get the cams as high as possible. My favorite is on Bank Staff room where you can put them up really high with the desks and counters

    Lets not forgot about attacker re-pick in general. This took the element of surprise out of many ops like this. Unfortunately, Maestro is easy to counter if you know its there, and re-pick solidified the downfall. (I love repick btw)

    I think Echo also needs a rework his drones are really bad right now. Most of the time they just get shot about ten seconds into the round and you don't get any value from them. There are also a lot of counters now, Brava, Twitch, IQ, Zero, nades, temps etc.

      Nah I dont even main echo but I've won many rounds because of him. U just need to hide your yokais until late into the round. A good echo is a pain in the ass for attackers and I dont think he needs to get buffed.

    here is an idea.
    Smaller throwable cameras, he gets 4 of em but they are unarmored and the laser heats up quicker.
    Easy to hide, out of reach, still get the job done with gadget denial he can cover more angles but they are more voulnerable when spotted and its harder to kill with them.
    Would be neat if you could also choose if you wanna bring the old armored ones or the new unarmored ones.

    Or make the evil eye more durable, like add a layer of armor that would break after taking 1 util so it would soak up 2 piece of util from the enemy before breaking

    I think maybe the evil eyes should have the ability to create a rail system or something and drive across it like a cart and be able to move up and down walls or across floors.

    Ubishit hate Maestro, one of the old ops and still no elite, in the lore of Siege he has no part to play, and every now and then they nerf him
    I main Maestro till this day and the idea is great

    As Maestro Main I still get the same feeling playing hun just unfortunate his stuff can be shattered, or Brava who I ban most of the time make it to where it’s impossible to play him sometimes although I have started to roam with him a bit more nothing beats the Alda half of the time which is why I still love maestro wish he had 1.5 scope lol

    I think putting an evil eye in unreachable spots calls for a nerf to the lazer it shoots. Maybe a slower fire rate or something otherwise its just going to be broken

    You really under sell how hard of a counter brava is. You aren't destroying an evil eye you're changing operators. If you've never died to your own evil eye setup you've never felt true agony.

    I’m honestly not a fan of the idea of throwing his gadget but I like the problem it solves. I’d rather they just remove the ability to shatter it with a regular melee. Go back to how it was on release, except an EMP will open the eye making it vulnerable. And perhaps sledge and the gonne-6 maintain the shatter ability

    Just make the evil eye open and shoot by itself, you still have the option to look through it but now you have the same UI interaction fenrir uses.
    You look at your maestro cam through a wall and activate it, it opens up and if it sees an atacker it shoots him.
    This way when they are planting you activate the cam and rush them down while they are distracted.

    Either be able to throw it like a BU-GI, or have like crescent shaped sticky treads on the back allowing Maestro to drive it up walls very slowly. Also give him a deployable. This would put him about even with Rook or Castle in terms of anchoring capability.

    Deadass the Alda is my favorite gun in the entire game even spent hours getting renown to get packs to get black ice for it 😭😭 but I barely use It cuz there so many more useful and powerful ops

    Cameras on site win rounds... cameras that can shoot back and that take an explosive round to get rid of sounds annoying every game. He'd be real strong. You can't just shoot it like a Valk cam.

    Nah. Give him echos old invisibility. Make it invisible unless you open it. That way the attackers spot it after you're using it but can't instantly destroy it.

    You can currently place it above your head level and make it completely unpunchable by looking upwards. I hope ubi will never see this video because if they will do something like your rework they are going to nerf something to oblivion. "To balance all the advantages Maestro now has"

    imo,, just make it not be able to be destroyed by gadgets. Or opened up by emp. If u want it destroyed u gotta shoot it or punch it while it’s vulnerable.
    Being able to throw it still leaves to many counters with explosives.
    (imo tho)

    Just take away the glass punch. It’s unrealistic to be able to break bulletproof glass with your knife let alone your hand and this just removes half the issues he’s having

    I think apart from that they should give him the 1.5x scope or his acog back because if both cams get taken out only limiting him to his guns I feel Iike it’ll make him a little more versatile even tho the thought of getting spawnpeaked by a maestro is quite scary lol

    I think the change would be a good idea but I think it needs to be restricted in where you can throw it. I think giving it the weight mechanics as the ram drone would be good. I don’t think maestro should be able to throw this with ease that valkyrie throws her cams

    Clash should get a rework instead. People just need to learn how to play Maestro, so his cam's won't get punched, that's all, because it's possible even without additional places to climb on, and that's the same thing how everyone played before Twitch rework.
