I think Echo is will be always decent / underperforming, or if he's buffed a lil bit too much he will be a must be in every setup or change the entire meta.
Before neon dawn if this video would have been made than echo would have been best. Since he lost his cloaking ability he is kind of underwhelming now a days.
With the addition of brava, gonne - 6 and attacker re pick system it's even more difficult to go maestro...I really enjoy poking enemies with his gadget but now it's just too easy for attackers to deal with the evil eye
Try playing more aggressively while watching for her drones. They are very loud and big so there easy to shoot. Remember that her actual loadout is not as good as maestro’s
and thank god she has those guns because if she had something better she would be unstoppable lmao, probably the only good balancing from ubisoft lmaoo
For loadout maestro definitely deserves 10 points. He has best defender gun in game combine with pocket shotgun and impacts r good for denying hard breaches.
This I agree with, he gets one of if not the best defender gun in the game, and a pistol that can set up the site. With a decent shotgun and high damage pistol. That's a 10/10

The fact that valk was the worst out of these 3 a few years ago shows how much the game has changed (not to say she used to be bad but to say Echo and Maestro used to be amazing).
I won't say that she was worst out of the 3,like her gadget always had some advantages compare to other 2, u can throw valk cams outside and gather intel which u can't do with echo and maestro,not to mention even if valk dies she still has 100% influence in the round unlike the other 2.

They both had very good guns with acogs, and their both of their gadgets were some of the best in the game until they got nerfed. Before Echo got nerfed he had the second highest ban rate behind Mira I’m pretty sure. Also I don’t know if they changed it but you used to be able to put Maestro cams outside and they were very good wall denial on sites like Armory on Border.
Valks gun isn't great but it is one of the better defender guns imo... also with extended barrel it is nuts, no recoil still and u add a bit of the damage that her gun naturally lacks
I think echo is the best. On top of everything he said in this vid You can Also help teammates get easy kills by stunning attackers that may be rushing or swinging on site. His gun has a built in suppressor which is cool. If you sit in a corner behind a shield to use your drones along with a thunderbird is a great combo aswell.
echos versatility is based only on your imagination. you can use him to stay on site and help roamers with one drone, and keeping another drone in site to keep an eye on your actual body. you can just use him as a valk and hunker down, controlling site and disorientating your enemies as you gun them down from distance, OR you could become a roamer yourself, hidden in another part of the map, who can flank your enemies as you can search for them on your yokais. if you put in work and put your mind to it, echo is THE versatile operator. the perfect mix of mozzie and valk, who can stop the plant from the other side of the map
totally agree. his versatility score should be 9 or 10 /10... he is one of the BEST roamers in the game rn, and the ONLY defender how can 'carry and throw' drones with him and deploy ahead before the flank, giving a way better chance to succeed if you can pin point the location and number of attackers. literally attacking the attackers the same way they do (drone first and then entry). with mozzie you would have to drone all the way from there the drone is to the flank site, and then run all the way there yourself, if you are far from their location, ur information might be already useless by the time you get there. (it would be an awesome buff to mozzie if he could carry and throw his drones...) for anchoring, he is still solid if you bring the shield. and if you can bring a jager or wamai he is even stronger behind that shield. for support, as he mentioned, having an echo drone with other roamer is very strong, specially if you can disorient the prey before the roamer secure the kill.
also love having one drone on site, covering default plant and preferrably easy access to a large part of the site, while im roaming and having the other drone with me. this way i can still deny plants, get intel for retake etc. i agree, echo is very versatile
Posting before watching the whole thing, but in the current season, Valk has the best gadget. They can go anywhere, are really hard to see, and even if Brava finds one, it isn't nearly as detrimental as giving her a sonic drone or laser turret, which are both MUCH easier to find!
@BMP I was absolutely a Maestro Main (alliteration ftw!) before Brava dropped. Now it's really hard to play him as a solo, especially w/ Attacker repick. Fav Maesteo site was Aviator/Games. One turret goes above the hatch in office, the other in the hallway, with los on vault wall. Shoot out the hatches, and Attackers have to expend utility to knock them out. Now with Brava a bad Maesteo player (ie, me) can be a detriment to his team.

yep, the attackers i like to play all have gonne, and i weep for maestro every time i shoot his pesky cams down with no effort. imo they should just damage the glass, like a melee hit.
Ima be dead serious I’ve been a fav main since the day she game out and most rounds I get at least one interrogation and once you get that you get a live ping for a few sec and usually you can get one or two more and teammates usually kill the others best intel imo
Imo echo should be played off site but on the same floor with one yoki on site and one to play off of, get 1-2 kills playing off your drone and move into site, echo and call imo are amazing last minute duo.
I feel like echo has a lot more versatility than you said. He can use his drones for stopping people trying to defuse, helping his teammates or himself get an intel and disorientation advantage or you could just leave them alone and have your dead teammates or your team use them as cameras. You don't have to stay in site as echo, I really like roaming with him because you can help out with the site while being away from the site. Yes you might get droned out but you also have a drone yourself to use to your advantage. And also you can use your drones for spawn peeking, the drones fit through the normal drone holes on all the maps and if you press jump right as you're getting out of the hole you can fly up in the sky with the drone and get a really good view of everything. The problem you have with Echo is that he can get naded from below or attacked from above while on his cams and that he spends a lot of time with his drones so it's having a man down. Getting naded from below could be avoided by roaming with Echo. Yes you can still get naded from below but if you're pretty far away from the site you have a way lower chance of it happening, and if you have a teammate whose dead instead of you staying on your drones you could have them on the drones and alert you when there's someone planting or someone you can disoriente. Overall I'd give echo a 8 or 9 versatility considering you can use his drones in many different ways.
my fave playstyle as echo is to waste time for attackers by continuously blasting them, and/or making my drone slightly noticed but from a position i can escape with it, to make them focus on the drone or even chase it, and then close the game out by putting pressure on the plant when time is about to run out
imo my problem with echo is that not only does his drone make sound while in the ceiling, it also moves up and down all the time, and on top of it all, they refuse to stick onto the ceiling if there is even a slight low point, or if the drone is standing on an object or something. just let me stick the drone to whatever surface i want please. let me throw it in tight corners, under objects, up on ceiling mounted objects. So many times my drones get destroyed because i couldnt stick to the ceiling to blast the enemy, and so they just shoot it out instantly because of how loud it is while on the ground.
Been away for a few years. Did they remove the active camo on the Yokai drones? Looked like it in the videos. Would explain why mine have been getting shot more easily than I remember... thought it was just improved meta understanding
everyone sleeps on the acs12, as a maestro main the acs is my favorite weapon super easy damage to two shot kill if you miss the head, easy recoil to control and solid fire rate. very slept on people need to run it more
I’d say echo is much more versatile than maestro, since his cams can move it makes him a lot more handy with helping roamers, also valks guns are amazing to anyone exept brand new players, the mpx is far better than the Alda and mp5sd with how little recoil it has the the spas is the best semiauto shotgun in the game, and with how good the deagle is the spas can be run and you can still get kills at range
I like to play Maestro and strictly watch for brava drones. Either I destroy both kludge drones leaving brava with nothing. Or both our utilities get destroyed yet I still have the best defender gun.
My problem with echo is its just spotted extremely easy and it’s annoying to have a one use drone for 1 kill. Anytime my enemies hear that fan sound they go out of their way to destroy the yokais all the time effectively making yokais a one off intel fragging gadget
I cannot argue with your opinion about Valkyrie and Maestro, but I want to describe the appropriate way to play Echo. However, I still don't think that it is good idea to compare this to operators, because Valk must be compared with Mozzie, while Maestro with Kaid and Bandit and Echo with Pulse and Solis. Maestro, sometimes can be much more effective in securing viable walls or hatches (if it's not the place to bandit trick), also he can also impact trick. Speaking finally about Echo. He is insanely efficient when played in Solis way, when you are playing vertical, and both deny a plant and kill people from below/above. He has shotgun woth suppressor, which allows him to play vertically along side with impacts, furthermore he can also use his drones to beny plant if the hostile is not available to kill. Solis, for example cannot do anything when she is pushed while the oppforce are planting or they are planting on or beneath the unbreakable surface. Echo can do both, since his teammates can watch his drones, while he is fighting, also if there is unbreakable surface he can just play time by his drones. Try to play Echo as Solis and you will understand that he is not like Valk, he is like Solis and better than her. Thank to his recent 2 speed .

Maestro should get his acog back or 2× scope. And before yall say it will be to much then nerf his mag and damage. He is an 3 armor 1 speed so it wouldt even be too much like it would be maybe for 3 speed 1 armor.
Echo and Vigil are my most played operators so Echo is my choice. And since he is a 2 speed now, he is even more fun. Subjective: 1. Echo 2. Valk 3. Solis 4. Maestro 5. Mozzie 6. Pulse my fav intel ops
I plan on featuring him in a "flank watch" video. I'll be putting him up against nomad and gridlock. I don't like mixing attackers and defenders in these videos which is why I'm doing that
I have over 1200 hours on Valk, she is my favourite. The mpx with angled grip, reflex a and angled grip is very solid. It is insane how many good camera spots you can get with here and I recommend using her with a C4 in combo with Pulse for some nasty (vertical) kills. Her best maps are Bank, Border, Kafe, Consulate and Kanal.
@@Gyropop I know, you didn't ask my opinion, but I want to share my thoughts. My most played Defender is Valkyrie as well, but not as close to 1200 I think it was a very needed nerf, because you could do nasty things with outside cameras and it wasn't really that fair in my eyes.

you should take into account that its really easy for brava to hack maestro cameras since they are large, obvious, and cannot move.

I have over 1200 hours on Valk, she is my favourite. The mpx with angled grip, reflex a and angled grip is very solid. It is insane how many good camera spots you can get with here and I recommend using her with a C4 in combo with Pulse for some nasty (vertical) kills. Her best maps are Bank, Border, Kafe, Consulate and Kanal.

My most played Defender is Valkyrie as well, but not as close to 1200
I think it was a very needed nerf, because you could do nasty things with outside cameras and it wasn't really that fair in my eyes.
