Tommy Flanagan's solo is one of the best musical moments ever on this tune's album master take

Oml bro cold wit it. Wise insights, deep knowledge. Doesn't coddle and hold your hand, but celebrates the song with excellent play

What an evocative and tender journey. Well done, Ron! I just dig John's chord changes so much on this one.

ron, your intros to tunes and especially ballads fascinate me. i have your intro on autumn leaves and blue and green in mind, loved them very very much.
thanks a lot for doing these videos, they are everything I search for when going on youtube and learning a new tune.

Thanks rola25! Intros are an important way to establish a personal, unique mood for any given tune, and this aspect of them is often overlooked. Errol Garner comes to mind.

@@rondrotoskeyboardimprov9453 Like a grain of sand on the beach, I am very lucky to have accidentally encountered an algorithm introduction video among countless videos. Your meticulous and solid composition skills are amazing. I'm impressed. I enjoyed it so much. Your videos have the ability to instantly turn them into wonderful charms, and you have a wonderful talent that overflows with the strange charm of your videos. Even if it's just a passing relationship that I've never seen offline and don't know the name of, I'm grateful for the algorithm that allows me to meet you with your wonderful videos in the online RUclips world. Just because a thumbnail caught my eye, I accidentally saw your video. I like it the most and fall in love with your channel. The most wonderful person is you who put all your heart, effort, and effort into making this video. In the meantime, you have worked hard to make RUclips for your dreams, and I hope that you will grow bigger than you have been trying. Please make more good videos in the future. Thank you to the algorithm that made it possible to meet and enjoy your RUclips space. Your video shines the brightest on my RUclips window right now. On a deepening autumn night, I feel lonely in an unfamiliar country. I am lonely all alone, but I try to soothe my heart by watching your video. Your video is the best video ever. Beautiful version thanks. I learned to play Naima with blocked chords but harmonizing every note can become a drag and sound clunky. Any advice on which notes to harmonize and which to play single-note style? Target notes vs passing or pick-ups? Thanks again Ron!!!!!

A lot of times, you can just play chords on the first note of each chord change. Try that and see how it goes.

ah yes thank u interesting, but i will need to transpose it in order to use the open string basses (guitar) to make the bass note over the chords; quite complex stuff anyway

In bars, two and four of the bridge real book says B-flat, seven flat, nine, flat 13, but the melody note is G natural 13. What do you make of this?
