The Fray's "Over My Head" vs. The Chainsmokers' "Closer"

In light of people posting all these things about different bands suing each other over parts of their songs sounding like their songs.... sometimes parts of songs just sound the same. I discovered this in the most random way tonight while at work. I don't think the writers of The Chainsmokers' song 'Closer' had any idea that their hook was a part in the Fray song 'Over My Head'. Some might argue that maybe the writer had heard that song a whole bunch, and then when they wrote the hook for 'Closer', they were like, "damn, this sounds good." because it sounded familiar in their head. Who knows. Music is weird.
