I agree with you Qofy, I enjoy the consistency of the tempo- so cool & upbeat. Avi never ceases to amaze me with his music & showcasing his talent. I'm a sucker for his deep base. This is great, isn't it? Yes, I also feel alright after going through quite a difficult period. I have learned that sometimes it is okay to show that you are weak, because that only makes you stronger. And never gives up hope that things will work out. And that is what I hear and feel in Avi Kaplan's songs and that is why it has been one of the tools to get through that difficult period, just like this song will be. Avi's beautiful low natural (not too exaggerated) voice caresses my soul. The wonderful music, especially the guitar playing, makes me move as if I were shaking off the last burdens. Yes, I feel even better after hearing this song. And of course there may be times when things will not go so well, when you have to keep fighting. I will then look again for that bright spot of which Avi is a part.
Someone has speculated that the hand movements he does are a throwback to Jim Morrison and The Doors. As for the dance moves, these are nothing compared to what he often did early on in PTX (just check the chair girl videos for a gyrating example).
I speculated in messaging right after I heard the song late Thursday evening that it had to be Daniel Ellsworth on the organ that comes in later in the song. Daniel just posted, and it was indeed him. For any who might not know, Daniel played the piano in "Healing" and in all 4 of the Sunset Sound videos.
