Hi everyone, today I looked at some piano concertos that I have learned and tried to make an entertaining video, "kind of" ordering them by how much I like them. No parameters or criteria, just how much I like them or not.
Audio files are all MIDIs, I know they are not that great. Видеоклипы
Woah, respect for learning both Rachmaninoff 3rd and Prokofiev 2nd!
Only learned grieg so far, and i have the most respect for someone who can manage to learn dozens of those. I get it if you are a professional, but what a commitment! Planning on tackling prokofiev’s first next fall for uni, can’t wait:)
You'll build your list of concertos too!! Btw Prokofiev 1st is really enjoyable and so compact , but with great moments. Big fan
Thanks for watching! The first upload gave me copyright issues, so I decided to switch out the audio with MIDIs. If you would like to listen to a real recording you can do so on RUclips, Spotify etc. Thanks! :)
Do you have any advice of which Chopin or Rachmaninoff preludes/etudes are more helpful for any of the Concertos you listed here? I know probably learning all the Etudes and Preludes would definitely help, but I honestly don't have the time to learn them all. I know there must be some of them who are better to assist learning these Concertos with less struggle.
@johanssoncisneros1489 the thing about chopin concertos is it's like many typical things from chopin combined, and since the first concerto, op 11, is very close to op 10 , some moments really feel etude-like. For concerto and Rach this applies a lot I've found. Choose longer etudes and preludes instead of short ones, to get the most out of it stylistically and technically
I absolutely thank you for casting a light on the Chopin concertos, which I think are very underrated among professional musicians!
Great video! I agree so much with people underappreciating second movement of Rach 3, its an absolutely amazing concerto from the start to finish
I have wanted to see a video like this, rating orchestral pieces.
Also Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 2 is my favorite, 1st, 3rd and 4th Movements I truly adore.
Love Rach 3 but Rach 2 is my favorite!!
Nice video :)! I'm currently learning Rach2 even tho the 3rd movement is still a little bit too hard for me but yeah It's the piece i would play to an alien if he asked me what music is 😂😂
Beethoven's 4th and Prokofiev's 2nd are my favorite concerti, but I'm learning Chopin's 2nd as my first concerto (I think the others would be too difficult for someone's first concerto)
That video was so awesome... I've watched it a week ago and thought I had commented already 😂 well, better late than never! I have a question for you :b I'm 25, started learning the piano last year with a good professor. I straight up told her "I've no previous experience with the piano, but I want to play Rachmaninoff!" 😂 she's guiding me towards that goal, right now we're focusing a lot on Chopin, which I love. ❤️ My question is: what road would you take if you were starting on the piano as an adult and wanted to play rach3 in 10 years?
What concerto should be the first one to learn, in your opinion and what solo piece is technically equal to that concerto? Also my favourite concerto is Rach 3, then I really like Rach 2, Prokofiev 2(I appreciate a lot the cadenza and the way the orchestra joins) and Chopin 2. I fell that Liszt 1st Concerto is a little bit underrated
I think for most people, Grieg concerto is the first gateway into romantic concertos, and Beethoven 2nd could be your gateway into more difficult classical concertos. Beethoven 2nd could be compared to an advanced Beethoven sonata (a long one), and while I haven't learned Grieg concerto I've read through it on occasion, and my best guess is that the difficulty technically is never harder than what you'd get in a Chopin ballade (not even 4th).
I hope you will play concerto op 59 by Moszkowski. I am not sure if that less known among pianists.
Moszkowski E Major concerto is so amazing! One of my favorite concertos probably
One of my favorites, very underrated
@@matheuscampos5674 Yes! It is so underrated
Yes, I know Moszkowski. Too many interesting concertos to learn! 😂
Pls rank the mozart piano concerti
