    Holy SMOOOKES Brett! I came for the pickups but stayed for your playing. You're a monster. That is all.

    Best review of these pickups. Thank you for demoing these with all the different amps and levels of clean/ dirt.

    Official now converted to filtertron pups after dismissing the sound for years… these SD’s are amazing!🙂

      Yep. They're good all rounders, Mr Sumlin. Hard to beat, really.

    I just wanted to send a line of thanks, Brett, for your channel. Your videos are informative, your playing is great, and I always enjoy seeing and hearing the gear you overview/demo. Thank you for the effort you put in. Best wishes from the UK.

    Wow! I’ve been tinkering around with the idea of using the filter-trona and now I’m sold. Definitely going to give those a try. Thanks. As always you Rock bro. Your the only person I trust when trying to make a decision on gear. Keep up the good work.

    Great review mate, great mixture of sounds, styles & playing.
    If only all guitar & pickup reviews consisted of theses sorts of variations.

    I didn’t know how badly I wanted a set of filtertrons until now. Never have owned a set but now considering this hot set for a build I’m working on 😎🎸

    The combo of those pups and that guitar sound bloody good

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, I agree. I think I've found a good combo; one that I won't be changing anytime soon.

    love the sound of that neck PU like a HUGE neck strat tone.

  • @hoodedbugler
    @hoodedbugler 2 года назад +2

    Very versatile. On all kinds of clean or distorted tones. Less vintage twangy rockabilly sound than the standard filters of course, but can do almost anything that single coils, P90 and PAFs can do

      The HIWATT tone steals the show!

    Like you -- I've played a while. Thanks for helping me.I play a Gretch which gets a great sound immediately ( as do my moded Teles) I just received a thinline Eastman ( with the Bigsby) it came with the Seymore Duncan paf size P90. I'm sure some players would love it, but I don't think we're going to click. Obviously don't want to modify a brand new guitar so I was hoping for a complete review of the Psyclone. ( and found it). By the way the Eastman is a stunning piece.The wood work, fit and finish really get me going. So let's see what it sounds like with the Psyclone. Thanks again. Good job ( and great chops too!)

    Those Hiwatt tones are great

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  2 года назад +2

      Yeah, I love them too. I have a real one here, but pulling that break-up tone and then slamming an overdrive or muff in front of it, well, I might as well just move out! 😂 But the Axe lets me do it at a slightly more civil volume.

    I'm building a tele for my son for his graduation present with these pickups. Can you please tell me what bridge is on this guitar? Thanks!!

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  6 дней назад +1

      I can't, sorry. I think it was just a hardtail-6-saddle-tele bridge but I let it go when we had to pay for house renovations and it's now lost to the ether. All the best with your build!

    Hi Brett, I have a question I got gretsch 2410 love this guitar but Brodtons are too hollow and growly. Can you please suggest nice pickups for playing jazzy sweet tones. I feel BT pick ups are very hollow.
    Plz help

    After see your video I'm thinking a hsh configuration to my strat: fender wide range cunife, fender strat cunife and one of this in the bridge... What do you think?
