Had the clicking sound and 05 errors during daughter's HS graduation ceremony. Haven't been home to unscrew to take off the plastic cover yet. yes you can replace it, but I don't know the exactly screw measure that goes on your 70D camera and it is going to be hard to find at some hardware store. I'd suggest you to remove and try to clean or you can buy a set of mini screws from here compre.vc/mini-screw and see if some of them fits, or try to find another set at the same link. My screw was fine but I found the culprit, it’s the plastic hook mechanism that needs to be replaced it not allow enough time for the spring to push it open.

Good morning. If you talk Portuguese, feel free to write in Portuguese as well. :0) It's hard to tell you what can be happening. But in my opinion, maybe is the settings you're using in your camera. I'd suggest you use it in the automatic zone to see if it is occurring. Maybe it is happening due you are using the dial in the creative zone (P, Tv, AV, M, B or C) where you can set the way you want the aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and so on, so try to use in the automatic (basic zone) such as in the green square (Full auto) or the image zone that is also automatic for specific situations such as the icons portrait, landscape, closeup, and etc. This way you can find out if it is some issue with the flash or really with the way you're setting your shots. Hi there, just to inform you It doesn't close automatically, and you need to close it by hand. If it is not closing, you need to check if the lock (flash hook) is going back to its position. Here you can see an image as an example of what I'm talking about: tiny.cc/flashhook or if as shown in the video if the spring inside the builtin isn't broken or loosen or other. Good Luck.

Hi, I'd suggest you to check/clean around the *trigger button* that is inside the built in flash area. Maybe some dirty can be stucking it avoiding it to go all way up. So, check if the trigger button is going all way up by hand/tweezers. Try to clean it and press/release by hand several times and check if the error continues. Here you can see an image as an example of what I'm talking about (button on the left side): tiny.cc/flashhook. Good Luck and let me know if by cleaning it solved. ;0)
WD-40, while near and dear to my heart, really should not be used on plastics. Dry silicon spray, or even graphite would be a better choice. Other than that, The advice is good! Thanks!!
Hi there, it isn't to be used on plastics. As shown in the video the WD-40 is to apply over the screw (metal) and the nut/thread (metal too). Anyway, thanks for your tip about using those products on plastics.
I'd suggest you to close the built in pop-up, turn off your DSLR, take the battery out, turn on, press and hold the shutter for a while, turn off, put the battery back, turn on, and try again. See if the error message is still there with the same code, Err 05 or it is another one. If it is still Err 05, maybe there is some issue with the lock that releases the pop-up flash to open it up. Try to close and open up the built in flash some times to check if it solves. Good luck.

The error 50 is referred to an electric control malfunction that was detected. You can try to turn the power switch to to turn on the power again. Also remove and re-install the battery. Change/remove/re-install the canon lens. If these instructions do not solve the problem, please search for a specified video for Canon err 50 or a Canon Service Center. Hi there, I have never heard about error 0, anyway, I suggest you search for Canon 80D (D80 is for Nikon) and error 0 in RUclips search field or even Google. Here is a list of error codes from Canon: sg.canon/en/support/8202786000 Good luck!

Hi there, just to inform you It doesn't close automatically, and you need to close it by hand. If it is not closing, you need to check if the lock (flash hook) is going back to its position. Here you can see an image as an example of what I'm talking about: tiny.cc/flashhook or if as shown in the video if the spring inside the builtin isn't broken or loosen or other. Good Luck.

If you get to see the error 5 message you got to turn on you camera, but it won't pass beyond that. ;0) I'd suggest you do the steps in the video or read all comments already posted. Good luck!

@@canalilucato i changed the battery and it turned on. I dont know if its because the flash error 5 happened while I was using a replacement battery. The official Canon batteries are always the best option.

Had the clicking sound and 05 errors during daughter's HS graduation ceremony. Haven't been home to unscrew to take off the plastic cover yet. I am about to get the flash working on my 80D by just wiping clean the area underneath the flash... Your video is a great help to diagnose and get the flash to pop manually.

Great video..in my 70D cam, the screw on the side ( when you open the pop up ) is a bit rusted. Can I replace this screw? If so, which one can I buy ?
yes you can replace it, but I don't know the exactly screw measure that goes on your 70D camera and it is going to be hard to find at some hardware store. I'd suggest you to remove and try to clean or you can buy a set of mini screws from here compre.vc/mini-screw and see if some of them fits, or try to find another set at the same link.

My screw was fine but I found the culprit, it’s the plastic hook mechanism that needs to be replaced it not allow enough time for the spring to push it open.
Whats screw remover size were you using?

Good morning. If you talk Portuguese, feel free to write in Portuguese as well. :0) It's hard to tell you what can be happening. But in my opinion, maybe is the settings you're using in your camera. I'd suggest you use it in the automatic zone to see if it is occurring. Maybe it is happening due you are using the dial in the creative zone (P, Tv, AV, M, B or C) where you can set the way you want the aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and so on, so try to use in the automatic (basic zone) such as in the green square (Full auto) or the image zone that is also automatic for specific situations such as the icons portrait, landscape, closeup, and etc. This way you can find out if it is some issue with the flash or really with the way you're setting your shots. Hi there, just to inform you It doesn't close automatically, and you need to close it by hand. If it is not closing, you need to check if the lock (flash hook) is going back to its position. Here you can see an image as an example of what I'm talking about: tiny.cc/flashhook or if as shown in the video if the spring inside the builtin isn't broken or loosen or other. Good Luck.
My camera is showing error 05 built in flash won’t pop up but the built in flash is coming up perfectly. Is there anything I can do??? I have pictures to take coming up soon. Please please help!
Hi, I'd suggest you to check/clean around the *trigger button* that is inside the built in flash area. Maybe some dirty can be stucking it avoiding it to go all way up. So, check if the trigger button is going all way up by hand/tweezers. Try to clean it and press/release by hand several times and check if the error continues. WD-40, while near and dear to my heart, really should not be used on plastics. Dry silicon spray, or even graphite would be a better choice. Other than that, The advice is good! Thanks!!
Hi there, it isn't to be used on plastics. As shown in the video the WD-40 is to apply over the screw (metal) and the nut/thread (metal too). Anyway, thanks for your tip about using those products on plastics.
So I got mine to go up but still reads the code. Does anyone have the same issue?
I'd suggest you to close the built in pop-up, turn off your DSLR, take the battery out, turn on, press and hold the shutter for a while, turn off, put the battery back, turn on, and try again. See if the error message is still there with the same code, Err 05 or it is another one. If it is still Err 05, maybe there is some issue with the lock that releases the pop-up flash to open it up. Try to close and open up the built in flash some times to check if it solves. Good luck.

How can i solved err 50 problem?
The error 50 is referred to an electric control malfunction that was detected. You can try to turn the power switch to to turn on the power again. Also remove and re-install the battery. Change/remove/re-install the canon lens. If these instructions do not solve the problem, please search for a specified video for Canon err 50 or a Canon Service Center. @@canalilucato i changed the battery and it turned on. I dont know if its because the flash error 5 happened while I was using a replacement battery. The official Canon batteries are always the best option.
