    Old school here.
    I learned that casting at the ones you can see is a waste of time.
    Fish for the ones you can’t see.

    The Fly Shop here in Jax suggested a 9wt for the Sisters Area of the St. John's River. I have been medically out of fishing order for over a year, but doctor says one more month! I can't wait! I am hoping to upgrade my 2011 Outback to a 2017 PA-14 for a better fly fishing platform soon. Love the videos, keep me coming!

    Loved the video, I subbed! I live in fort pierce and just picked up an orvis encounter 8wt. I caught a snook off the jetty with it and now I'm hooked. Probably make another video with the fly once I can cast a little better. Tight lines!

    look at that old Bayou boy sling that fly............. nice form. most people learning how to fly fish don't pay attention to the left hand movement and try to fling it back and forth with the right hand.

    Nice video Ty! I hate catching skipjacks on conventional gear but absolutely love them on a fly (Same with carp). It is odd that I was just reading the fly fishing section of the pensacola fishing forum last night on fly fishing there! I am definitely going to plan a trip for September or October to fish that area.

    What is your setup? Do you use a floating or an intermediate sink tip? Also, do you ever use a stripping basket?

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  7 лет назад +1

      I never use sinking lines. Only floating. I do use basket if needed. Just depends. Some times in boats I use basket or wet towell just depends on what the obstacles are.

  • @magneresjuan

    nice vid but treat the fish better when you get one....don´t just trowh them to the ocean, and grab them to unhook them

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  3 года назад +1

      skipjack are a bait fish... most of the time we troll them live for bait & I cut them up and feed them to the chickens... he made out good!

    What weight fly rod do you use for the heavier flies? And do you use a weight forward line?

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  7 лет назад +2

      7-8wt for flats and light beach. Yes floating weight forward. This is a combo that had line.

  • @raymondmills9377
    @raymondmills9377 7 лет назад +3

    Stripping basket?

    • @pmolter
      @pmolter 7 лет назад +2

      Raymond Mills it's a basket u can make or buy that has a belt that hangs in front of you. You feed your flyline into it. It's suppose to keep you fly line untangled. You can do a search on the net to get a better picture. search fly line stripping basket.

  • @davidsawyer1599
    @davidsawyer1599 7 лет назад +1

    Sayin' this with love. Do not talk ever again. Ty should be the only subject. The music was good. The scenery was good. The mood was great. Then y'all talked a ruined the whole vibe. Not knockin' you or your wife. Not haten. This by far is your best vid till y'all talked.
