    Question for anyone.......I have a pair of Cobra Microtalk cx102a's that i attempted to match a UV5Rpro to.....I can transmit from the Microtalk and receive on the UV5R but unable to transmit from the UV5R and receive on the Microtalk.......confused.....

      I have two UV5Rpro's and it seems neither are transmitting on the frequency that matches the channel on the Microtalk's nor are they transmitting to eachother

      You have to have the UV5 programed for those frequencies. I have all of my radios set up that way. Those little walkie talkies run on a small output power on the GMRS band.

    The advertised range is a joke. Youll be lucky to get 1-3 miles out of these is a normal setting. If you up on a hill youll probably get like 10 at best.

      cobera left out the part that you need a license to do that
      I am licensed for g m r s and can do 20 miles off one tower
      I sent my boss home with a radio and me being 12 floors off the ground
      line of site would not work eather.

      ​@@donalderickson-si8wwI have a gmrs and ham license. Ive gotten over 100 miles on a ham repeater because i was up on a really really high mountain.
