    Nice video. Just looking at replacing my old balustrade. After watching, might just have a go myself. Thanks for putting online

    Do you have to carve in the existing newel post to fit handrail ?

    • @How2Extreme
      @How2Extreme  Год назад

      That's what i did, but there are different ways to do it. I believe this way is given more stability

    Looks nice but the owner should have changed the old post, it looks a bit old having modern glass and oak connected to an old fashioned post that does match rest of the stairs.

      Agree i told him the same thing, but he wants to paint everything in white like the rest of the house, and it makes sense

    Good video, thank you but I can never understand why anyone would use a blower instead of a vacuum to get rid of the dust, all you’re doing is blowing it around 🤔👍

    Hi there,
    Great content and great video. Do you mind me asking what kind of pricing you set for a job like this including materials and labour? Really great video and good workmanship 👍🏽

      Hi. This was just a favour for my client. He bought all the pieces, and i just put them together for him.

    You did that heatgunning without any mask or anything! Do you not worry about lead in paint on an old house? Honestly they used to stick lead in everything a century or so back...

      You are definitely right on that aspect and I would encourage everyone to use the proper ppe when needed

      I also don't use a mask. A short run of a heat gun won't hurt anyone.

      @@How2Extreme why no half post against the wall? That handrail in that hole will start to rot in no time at all and will need changing and then the owner will put on a half post. And do it all over again

      This job was under 800£ the owner had a small buget for that and hi bought all that hi could afford even with my explanation on what to buy. Most of his budget went on the bathroom and boiler I just tried my best to help him out. And that timber in the wall it's never going to rot
