  • Today we show you how to fix a common problem with our 1st gens. A noisy vent window due to a poor seal caused by the vent window latch. The vent window latch tends to bend backwards and cause this leak. Today we show you how to easily fix this instead of that quarter you were using to temporarily rid of this problem! Hope this helps and stay tuned for more videos.

Excellent video. I will have to try to get that tiny pin out which I didn't even know came out. Glad I stumbled across this video.

Thank you for this video. My 95 Dodge van has been driving me crazy with wind noise. Not any more!

I have a 1980 Dodge Ram Van B350. There's still tons of Dodge campers with the exact same vent window assembly as your Cummins Dodge. I'm going to recommend this video next time I meet someone with noisy vents on their camper. Mine certainly are noisy :p

Maybe a dab of thread locker will help prevent it from coming loose again

Would you by any chance know if and how we an replace the sealing ? My vent on the driver side is noisy and it seems coming from the sealing...

I don't have a video and have not done it, but I would imagine you would have to remove the glass and assembly to remove and replace the seal.

Any tips on repairing 1st gen Ram tailgates that don't have the aluminum trim? All of my tailgates have to be opened from the inside.

I repaired mine, but it does have that aluminum plate. What happens is the small plastic tabs break which keep the wires on the handle mechanism (much like any modern car). I took off the torx screws from the inside and then the side covers to access it all.

Thanks for your reply. I gues that this issue/problem will remain to be an ongoing issue for tailgates that don't have open panel access. I know the crappy designed plastic insert tab breaks, but getting access to it is impossible so far.
