Cutting your kids hair as a punishment has always been so weird to me, cause my mom is the complete opposite. She used to cut her hair every week when things got bad as a way of coping, and now her hair barely reaches her shoulders. I, on the other hand, have hair that goes down to my waist and my mom would kill me if I cut it. At first I thought she just didnt want me to regret it, but I'm starting to think that shes trying to live vicariously through me. You should've seen her when I got a hair cut at the salon, she was watching the hair stylist like a hawk while she cut my dead ends 💀
There are times when a child SHOULD call CPS on their parents. This is one of them. PLEASE go talk to the school counselor or even a teacher . This is beyond abuse

My parents would cut my hair if I didn't do well academically. (I was normally a straight A student) Glad to be an adult now, be able to have whatever hairstyles I want, and not fear that if I do something "wrong" it will be taken away. My hair is currently down to my lower back and I love it. ❤️

When your kid gets in undeserved trouble so often that they just expect to be in trouble... your threats lose credibility and they will learn to hide. As a survivor of an abusive and toxic household, when I was young I was used to get punished almost every day I was locked in my room most of my free time with no way to come out. No dinner no hanging out with “friends “ no phone calls and I was punched a lot, I was told that I don’t deserve to be loved or live in my house (I call it a house because it was obviously not a loving home) so I spent the time listening to music on my video tape ,I’m 20 years old now and i can say . parents can be the most supportive amazing loving human beings in your life or- the most abusive violent and toxic people in your life sometimes you can get both . In my early teenage years I was absolutely convinced that my parents don’t love me or care about me and the abusive behavior of theirs continued until I was 18 years old and the child support was involved (finally) I tried to fix the relationship with my parents and they never admitted they were behaving terribly wrong it’s so hard to be in this place To all the people who will read this comment- always remember to be kind to others you’ll never know what happens when someone’s at home ❤ and for all of the abuse survivors out there-be a friend with the kid you were and give your child self a big hug before you go to bed For all the nights you were completely alone ❤️

My real dad shaved me bald like shiny bald. Because he didn’t want to deal with lice and didn’t care I was a girl, he just told me your a boy now so act like it tell your hair grows back. So I had to wear boy clothes but people thought I was a lesbian and when I tried to wear girl clothes people thought I was a cross dressing boy. And then the teachers thought I had cancer. I had the worst time until my hair grew back only for my dad to shave it again for whatever reason. This was in elementary well I’m glad I’m adopted now but because of it I’m confused of my gender and sexuality. Because of what he did I started to believe I was a boy and that boys had the same parts as me until I found out we didn’t. Because of that I was so confused on who and what I wanted to be.
