No one asked for this motor and all the industry wants is for Evinrude to come back with a reliable 4 stroke. @BRP come back to the industry with a reliable 4 stroke outboard with the evinrude name. No one asked for this motor and no one cares about deck space versus a reliable sleek looking outboard like the Yamaha Sho or Mercury Pro XS. Both those motors are reliable and have trusted name. Bring a new 4 stroke to the market that will bring new customers in and make them life long customers with a reliable and powerful motor that looks good. You have the money, you have the power, but lack imagination and simply have done the wrong innovations. The G2 for example should have been a 4 stroke. Release what the public wants and what the bass fishing industry wants. A reliable EVINRUDE motor. If you won’t use the name. Sell it to a company that will.

    • @pistonburner6448

That has to be one of the most ridiculous comments I've ever seen.
There is no reason whatsoever to demand a 4-stroke when the 2-stroke performs beautifully. And for absolutely certain MOST people care VERY MUCH about space robbed by ridiculous traditional outboard engines. I never understood how the outboard craze ever even got so big with all the drawbacks.
Everything you complain about is based on nothing: there is no basis on your wanting "a reliable engine" when we can expect the Rotax outboards to be just as reliable. And there is no drawback to this new outboard type, no reason whatsoever to complain about it and how it clears deck space!
Using the Evinrude name instead of Rotax? That is an ok suggestion, and I would agree...then again I'm not for using brand names 'falsely' just for marketing, I think it's better for them to just go with the Rotax name if that's what the new engine really is, no matter how much Evinrude tech they'd use with it. In 10 years this will be a non-issue and people will be used to the name "Rotax" being on the side of their outboards.

    • @pistonburner6448
      @pistonburner6448 Год назад

@@machew2009 How much further is it hanging compared to 'traditional' outboards? Are you sure that traditional outboards don't actually have a lot higher shear forces acting on the transom with their leverage resulting from having the engine high up at a longer distance from the attachment point as well as behind the transom? Seems to me the old style outboards will be shaking and imparting far higher loads than these new Rotax outboards.
      See, you're talking nonsense.

Very cool concept nice design, but there’s some things that I see failing. Looks like a lot of cheap material. They probably spent a lot in shaping the metal body but instead of selling me the cheapest smallest boat in that model for $70,000 which I’m sure will be much more, they could have kept the old aluminum standard panels and sold me that smallest version of this model for 10 grand less! I’m a little weary on them using their Rotax motor on an outboard drive that’s brand new for mechanics to work or up charge you for extra hours for repair if they can repair it! The rear swim platform is a smart idea, but I’m not sure to what cost , when I can buy an inflatable 6’ x 15’ x 6“ floating platform for $300. Also, thank you Greg from product strategies for teaching me that if nobody claps for my accomplishments, 6:10 I can just clap for myself and get a couple pity claps. If nobody was clapping and seemed impressed it’s because no one knew the intricate struggles that were defined to be important. Behind-the-scenes hard Work doesn’t translate to an audience who doesn’t make boats. I’m pretty sure people instead of clapping were thinking why is this guy sound like he’s reading a que card very poorly when he should be eating drinking and breathing all this information???! It doesn’t instill confidence and doesn’t sound genuine!

Why is this comments section full of absolutely zero-IQ complaints based on total nonsense?
Who compares a small boat's outboard to a Volvo Penta? Who complains about a BETTER outboard configuration that doesn't ridiculously stick up in the back of the boat completely blocking the use of the rear area, and that has no real drawbacks at all compared to that ridiculous old style engine?
I can tell you that real boat buyers and users definitely want this new type of engine. Best of both worlds: outboard cost, flexibility and noise levels with the better boat layout of an inboard.

      @@Manitoupontoonboats Some feedback:
It would be great if BRP had a good introductory video on the new Rotax stealth outboard. Right now after a long search I could simply not find any good dedicated videos on those engines on RUclips, and very little online overall.
I suggest you quickly introduce at least one short and one more thorough dedicated video about the Rotax outboards, clearly titled and marked as being about the new engines themselves (not just a short, insufficient bit in the middle of videos on boats).
And I don't understand why a big company like BRP doesn't have a proper introductory page with all the basics and then all the details on those engines, which they would have on the Rotax site as well as attached to all websites selling boats using that engine type.
That material could then also be linked to all the various boating medias, as now any news I see on the engine is relying on very limited media content from Rotax. You're going to get lots of news on this new engine, it's a shame you're wasting this marketing opportunity where you could direct people seeing initial news about this engine to your more thorough content (which you can then also have linking to your product pages and boats).
Actually I believe you're creating suspicion and confusion among customers as people looking into the engines might find it questionable that the web is silent on its existence. People get reassured by there being proper information about products that seem big-budget, as well as lots of enthusiasm and talk about it in the medias. Especially with new types of products.
There's so much FUD with new products, like for example an engine being half-submerged... You could easily clear that up with your explanations of why it isn't risky, and how you have so many decades of experience with engines in Sea-Doos.

This arrangement will absolutely result in increased maintenance repair costs after the warranty expires. To me it seems like total poser boat, more style than substance.

Please bring back what people really want the evinrude etec 2 stroke outboard not this garbage.
