I saw the rear seats on the 2016 X1 slide forward and backwards to allow for more storage. Nice feature.

+godfatherNYC If you get sliding Seat option then it should not be problem. This one got more leg room in the back compared to Audi Q3 and Benz GLA.
sunil varma datla I hear ya. I sat in the latest 3 Series BMW Backseat and was *very* impressed with all of the legroom.
Test drove this X1 last week at the dealer, nice looking car, ride and handling was very good engine felt strong only problem was the amount of noise that was in the cabin, mostly from the tires and some wind noise coming from the window, it was not very refined for it price range. So I bought a used 2015 X3 instead.
+manifest 73 Same experience for me. But I eventually bought new X1 because of great deal I got. If I didn't get it for good price then used x3 would have been my choice.

Nice review. I'm guessing that BMW didn't want you taking this on your off-road course. Can you see about doing a review on the new X3 as well as the new X5.
BMW's have the X-Drive system which has proven to really be the one to beat, but it would be nice to see how it performed in a semi-off road situation.

Have you seen any of Nick Murray's reviews? Often times his viewers will lend their own vehicles to him....seems to me a great way to remain unbiased. I guess the downside would be that you'd no longer get paid $1,000,000,000.00 by the car companies. ;)

What a nice change, the previous one looked like the Gary and Ace Car from SNL.
It's nice that it has a larger interior space, too bad it's just a Mini Cooper Clubman in different sheetmetal. The original X1 was a nice driving car based on RWD platform, but it wasn't big enough for me.

denault3985 I think the cheapest model(bmw x1 2018) in Europe is for 32,000Euros but it has less power compared to This American Model thats why its more expensive...

That’s so cute. I’m looking at a used model now. I really like the size of this car and it’s affordable for my budget. Key features missing for me, heated ventilated rear seats, adjustable rear seats, hands free rear lift gate and Apple play. What do you recommend?

+Constantine Joseph love BMW but for 2017 cars they are lowering the maintnance warranty to 3 years/ 36000 miles and they are removing brakes and clutch from their plan, which means alot of money to replace during the warranty specially for an M6. Tell me what did you buy?

BMW's heads up display works just fine but there is a catch. If you have to replace the windshield the charge is over 1000 dollars. If you buy a knock off windshield you may get ghosting of the image. I'll not buy another car with heads up.
Next time BMW of Spokane should let you actually test drive it! ;D

+Everyman Driver I thought it wasn't bad, I drove it and was tight better than the Mini Countryman .(aka same platform) but in deed better. Very quit on everyday driving / was disappointed no Diesel! Yet! But the sales guy said may or may not he wasn't sure. I would love to see it ! In Europe of course it is available now, getting in. Near 40mpg range! Plus all that torque. Only real gripe shoulder support a bit lacking , I have wide shoulders, I hate Audi's never any support. This wasn't to bad but for long trips could use more shoulder support.
