Solo Leveling (나 혼자만 레벨업) is a Korean web novel written by Chu-Gong (추공). It was first serialized by Papyrus on November 4, 2016 and ended with 14 volumes and 270 chapters. On April 13, 2018, a webtoon serialization was released on KakaoPage, drawn by artists Gi So-Ryeong (기소령) and Jang Sung-Rak (장성락). It officially concluded on December 29, 2021 with 179 chapters. A spin-off webtoon series based on the web novel's extra side stories was also launched on January 21, 2023 and is currently still ongoing, having already released three chapters.

Small clarification. He's not A-rank when fighting the hunters. He's B-rank (the difference in power between the ranks is that big, that's why the leader was suprised when he kill the first guy)
The powerscaling isn't all that well portrayed in the anime so I can see why it's hard to tell. But then it also doesn't really need it, it would be wasted exposition at best.
@@sirmcdust5572 it is pretty well portrayed. We just havent seen any B ranks or A ranks in action yet to scale them. But we can see a clear difference in power between C, D and E ranks thus far.
@@DivineXDiamond We have technically seen an A rank in action today with Jinchul but what I meant is a more exposition like explanation. Though I don't remember where the webtoon dropped the explanation of ranks scaling around 1 to 10 (as in you need around 10 C ranks to compete with a B rank), it might actually be next mini arc.
I think I expressed it wrong since the anime has made it pretty clear that SJW is not even remotely S rank yet
Also being on the same rank doesn't mean they're equal.

All the system did was turn the self defense he was going to have to do anyway into a quest.
He finished his running daily quest as he got to the construction yard & the prompt to accept his rewards popped up, but he immediately started talking with the group leader & forgot about it until now.
A-1 Pictures has not missed a single time with this adaption. I knew Solo Leveling had insane potential as an anime but I never expected them to deliver so hard. This is probably my favorite episode yet.

the weird thing about his "random" reward boxes in the light novel is that the items always seem to find a use in a day or two. bandages in the hospital, a paper cup when his water dispencer ran out, a pen that he uses to give the nurse his number, the key to get that dungeon, the umbrella for his sister. everything was in hand for when he would need it.
The items aren’t random, it’s things that he will need.
The system knows , and gives him things that he will need beforehand.

Since episode 1, we've heard the manhau readers talking about Sung Drip-woo. Drip-woo this, Drip-woo that, he's the GOAT - and we haven't really seen why. A lot of people thought that the glow up in episode 5 was it and felt underwhelmed. But TRUE Drip is more than a pretty face and 2% body fat. Drip is a mindset. Drip is visceral and you feel it in your bones. THIS is Sung Drip-woo. Solo Leveling only gets better from here
To tell you the truth he isn't even near his final glow up there are like 2 more glow ups before his final glow up. I cant wait

2 things A) I’m so glad y’all noticed that the scene with the 3 women talking was for world building and played directly into what was happening. I’ve seen a few other reactors call it filler or that they should’ve had it earlier or not at all cause it “interrupted” the flow of the fight scene. It was put there to show that with a proper guild you don’t get things like hunters squads that kill members cause even if they come out they still have to answer to their guild on what happened in there. While with strike squads it’s pretty much a free for all & anybody can join the groups so it’s easier to get away with things like that.

by the end of the episode he is B rank - but something to note - the ranks E,D, and C though they are significant difference in strength, it is no where near the large difference between, B, A, and S - this is why they add the fact that with good enough armor/weapons it isn’t impossible for either to beat a rank higher (though very very slim chance). But once you are talking about B to A rank or A to S rank - that is legit impossible due to the difference - so yeah he is B rank now
Tbh there are a few weapons that could make a big difference but to even use these you need a specific huge requirement so nvm i guess

@@kcknowshowtoplay4302 i believe in the entire conversations between Andre and his Assistant as well as Andre and Jin - they are referring to the actual skill of the hunter - also this is proven by the Orb of Averice (misspelling) - that Orb though having a broken ability could be used by anyone - but it would be properly used by a strong a$$ mage - finally even when the information of the daggers popped up - it never stated any requirements for use - so unless i’m not remembering something, i don’t believe there was any requirements ever mentioned or stated for any equipment in the hunter world - just a lot of $

Jin Woos rank when facing off against the final guy is around Low B rank or mid B rank. Which is why it’s so easy for him to take down D and C ranks. The disparity in ranks is pretty big

It would have been a lot better if they showed Jinwoo's sinister smile(which made him look more terrifying to Jinho) as he harvests the essence stones from the boss. In the manhwa he was so happy that he got 10 essence stones, in the anime they only showed one.

For clarification on the question you asked about when the 3 times they tried to kill him were:
1st time was when they blocked off the entrance and left them for dead
2nd time was when magic man blasted him. He was going for the kill and was under orders from main dude
3rd time was when the main dude himself tried to kill him. He didn't count the others trying since the others did it on their own besides magic dude

The song added the Ambience that the anime was holding back in the Manhwa. More anime needs to have this. For those like me who read the Manhwa, we know its a great anime. Now we know its always possible to get better.
I forgot the true estimate but I think it was, "it takes average 10 D-ranks to equal 1 average C-rank. 10 C-ranks to 1 B..." and so on.

For the false rankers, it's EXTREMELY rare to be able to have that much control. And considering you can't change your own level, it'll most likely just be a useless skill one has. So no, you can't "just control your magic." The subtitles even said that it's super rare.

The grey notification was the system saying it was trying to apply the Bleed (drain 1% of hp a second) and Paralysis debuff, but the boss was too strong so the red notification kicked in saying it doesn't effect the target.
Murderous intent, basically That’s his blood lust form comes in , when he’s threatened by hunters stronger than him.
He was most likely low c rank when he fought the boss, going by the assumption of his friend about power scaling hunters vs bosses(he was right too), which is why he had to use the full heal to beat it. So when he was fighting the other guys, he was prob about high C rank or low B after the boss.

I don't really understand why many people overlook the fact that he would have been cooked without systems daily quest reward and skill. He isn't a A rank or B it just happens that he has other things that are perfect for him to hold up against a C Rank monster if it had been an upper C Rank hunter with experience it's not the same. If yall rewatch the earlier episodes the kid (jin ho) is in there in the evaluation rooms and just found out that he's a d rank. I freakin love A1 with those details
I like how the guild leader wanted to step out of his brother's shadow and prove himself, yet when his life is on the line, he tries to rely on the "Do you know who my brother is?" threat. He wasn't truly about it.

Like their is no reason to fake your strength. Unless you want easy fights, and probably to kill and steal from people, as even if you are a high rank you can just choose, easy fights, meaning you are giving up a shit ton of money, just to trick some people who should be your friends, meaning it’s likely they are doing it just to kill other hunters.

I don’t know how accurate it is but I read in a comment that the average power of a rank is like 10x the one below it so like a B rank would be 10x stronger than a C rank etc and if that’s the case, the gap between C and S is much larger than we think
Thankfully, Jinwoo's not leaving empty-handed. If the Essence Stone he got off the boss was C-Rank quality, it's worth quite a bit of money for him. More than enough for what he needs for the moment.
Hasn't the Gate situation only been around for a couple of decades?
If so, then however unlikely, it *is* actually possible Jinwoo is the first player.
Especially if who/what ever is in control of the Gates acts similarly to a video game, and has rare or unique events that only occur after a given amount of time or specific triggers.
Disclaimer: I've only see the anime, so please don't spoil me if Im wrong
Even for a player around lvl 20, %50 debuff is an insane stat for anyone
Jin woo basically about B rank at that point, Differences between ranks are pretty much exponential , 1 B rank can probably fight about 20 C ranks and win depending on different factors of course. Easily comparable to One punch man S rank hunters Vs the rest of them. Also huge difference between those ranks aswell, Jin woo was about mana power level 10 before and they said that the average E rank was roughly 70 . It's hard to gage his power level right now because we havent really seen the S rank level hunters fight yet but they are just on a different level from A-E ranked hunters. About 100 times per rank im sure and also between them aswell .
I feel a certain irony when you guys say the characters don't pick up on certain things. You kept saying about the mana crystals but it's clearly been state that the dungeon ends when the boss is killed. You have to remember not much time actually passed from the time Jinwoo killed the spider to when he slaughtered them.

The elder of the group was only a C rank. You’ll know an S rank when you see one (well, you’ve seen one in the gym, but not at full fighting capacity). I reckon Junwoo is no more than a B or high C at the moment.
I think many people don't understand this but the reason why everyone just discards a E rank in investigation is because it's like accusing a leg -less person of running and Killing people which you and me both know it's not possible so you won't even think about it.
