Love the R&B feel reminiscent of Ben E King's ''Stand by Me'' and the stylistic shift at the end clearly pointing out that Jody could clean house on this tune just about as good as Tammy....Bless their hearts.

Besides the fact that Jody Miller extracts meaning from this song's words that heretofore hadn't been mined, another noteworthy fact is that when she heard "Stand By Your Man" on the radio in 1969, it motivated her to contact Billy Sherrill in Nashville to see if he'd produce her, ushering in her hit-filled decade with Epic throughout the 70's.
