Many fans of the novel have commented that the character Fu Shen Xing has stepped out of the book onto the screen after seeing the drama trailer as Peng Guan Ying immersed himself into character through his convincing expressions and his outer appearance.
Fu Shen Xing's and He Yan's initial encounter was totally wrong from the beginning, meeting at the wrong time at the wrong place. From starting out with just wanting to take revenge and torturing He Yan, Fu Shen Xing ironically could not escape past the word love.
"He Yan, please teach me what love is! I will learn gradually."
When he realized that he has fallen in love with He Yan and accepted to have her love at all costs, Fu Shen Xing had completely lost and made himself become an object in her hands. In the end, it is hard to say whether He Yan, a person who always keeps a strong-willed and rational mind, was touched at all or developed any slight feelings for Fu Shen Xing or not. However, as for Fu Shen Xing, he chose to let go, and perhaps he finally understood what the meaning of love is.

I feel like this drama could've been WAY better..... kudos to the actors/actresses though, I enjoyed their acting and chemistry, the plot was bland, there was a potential that wasn't reached and I blame the writer/director
