For years there has been a burning feud between 2 and 4 wheels. Now, it's time to answer questions and see just how 4 wheels performs on an obstacle that is built for 2. Jimmy Albertson and Thomas Brown ride side by side at The Compound 77 where the ultimate test of talent is held.

I don’t have a preference either way. Ride both for fun and am decent on each. No way a quad will keep up with 2 wheels on a SX track built for 2 wheels. No question. On a national track I’d be curious to put the top two guys in each sport head to head. Not a racer here so quads are fun to me fing off while riding with the kiddos and fam. Plus I can get my wife in the back of a quad and ride comfortably 🤷🏻♂️

I’ve always wanted to see this side by side pretty cool, I think 2 wheels is faster but don’t kid yourself it takes a lot whip around 380lbs

James Robert I’m an atv guy and I highly agree with you. They’re two very different machines that just can’t be compared.
Roberto Da Silva quads are easier to ride, dirt bikes takes skill to corner.
Southern Fun quad riders are always a fat and out of shape, I never said quads weren’t as fast I said they take significantly less skill, stop being in denial it’s the truth if you can’t handle it you’re a snowflake.
@youngman7655 No they aren't easier to ride. Try taking a corner as fast as Joel Hetrick and tell me it's easy. Quads will chuck your ass off if you don't know how to corner. Atv racers are pushing their bodies to the absolute limit it's insane. Don't believe me. Brandon Hoag can educate you.😂

The quads and bikes are pretty much the same lap times at the track just sick of people hating on the quads so much go look at videos of these guys back in the 90’s and 2000s there as bad ass as the 90’s and 2000s dirtbike videos in my opinion better like I say a good quad rider can keep up with a good bike rider just depends on the person I’m way faster on my ltr 450 on the track than my rmz 250
250 is a lot lighter than a quad bud . A good quad rider can keep up with a good bike rider end of story. Obviously the bikes gonna have some advantages in certain conditions
Plus the guys on bikes have the upper hand cause they have new technology where most of these atv guys are still kicking ass with 10+ year old machines plus dirtbikes have factory teams
@@brandonbankes8890 My 2020 yfz450r se begs to differ. It's an absolute animal on an mx track, full sends whoops and feels super confident on the bigger jumps. Sadly most companies abandoned the 450 quad market, but Yamaha chose to stay and continue improving the technology.
Brittany Collings I cant say much cause I haven’t really rode one I have only rode one but that’s true there the only company left in it thank god for Yamaha. When I did ride one it was a 2018 yfz and it was comfy as hell and by the way it rode I believe it it definitely had balls for being bone stock. Many other 450s usually require some kind of mod to go fast like that! I currently race a Suzuki ltr 450 one of my favor 450s out there just parts are expensive for it

Hit hit everything the same except the big triple
As if there was really any question. Quad = much heavier, smaller diameter wheels/tires, wider tires that are transmitting more surface irregularities, and a straight long rear axle that really un nerves the rider when landing one rear wheel way sooner than another. These are all the things that entered my mind years ago when going from MX bikes that myself and most of my friends rode, to hoping on another friends modded Honda Fourtrax with a bored/stroked engine & suspension mods. Was the Fourtrax fun and are quads still fun, you bet, alot of fun. Can they hang with an MX bike or even a serious enduro bike, no way. Ride on two wheels besides a quad. They hit the brakes or have to get completely out of the throttle in so so many situations where on a bike you gas it and blip through or over. It really comes down to the simple math of weight and the other specs. Now on the sand..........I'd take a ATC500R custom 3 wheeler, or a nice quad.
In this footage though; you see the bike pull the quad on a start drag race, you see the bike pull the quad in whoops, and you see the bike go around pass and pull away in turns and fly by on the big air jumps. Right here for all to see. The difference is usually much more extreme and obvious than even here, as most quad riders are not on this guys level.

There is no comparison between a MX dirt bike and any Quad on a SX track or an outdoor MX track.
If this was a serious race Ronnie would just demoralize anyone on a quad....I guess it was just for exhibition.

The quads and bikes are very close with each other I give the quad guys a lot of credit they got twice the machine to chuck around I raced a quad and a bike before I think there both awesome and fun but I’m definitely way faster on the track on my quad

Probably not, not only is the track built for bikes, Albertson probably has thousands of laps on that track whereas Brown only rode on it that day.

mattmattmatt131313 suprecross track is very small and jumps are very steep and big. The truck will not be able to get any speed. The ATV did not clear most of the jumps... less likely a baja truck.

Well I'll tell I've had 15 different 450 dirtbikes the crf is my favorite and I've owned so many Honda trx 450rs and racing a trx is alot harder then a fuckin dirtbike on a track
Garret Shampine dirt bikes are not easy tho, you’ll get smoked same as you’ll get smoked on a quad, the only quads I know are 4 jumps

Misfit Jeep I've driven them as hard as they will go, which isn't very hard, true... they are complete turds compared to a dirt bikes... on a perfectly smooth groomed track with small jumps they aren't THAT much slower.... but on uneven terrain or off in the woods they are a boat anchor....
