I desperately try to learn the lip roll for about 2 years now and I still didnt manage to get it. I do think tho that you are already super close to hitting fat lip rolls, you should try to adjust your mouth position a little. if you pay attention you will see that everyone who does that sound has their lips curled down in this weird way and I think thats what gives you the resonation to make it sound deep and full. You should def give it a go!
Antony, you have to loosen up your lips as you bring your jaw down for the lipdoll. Your lips need to oscillate as you create the vacuum and release pressure. Stiff lips don't help. Hope it helps :)
