Hmm... looks like I have a new song to learn. And hey! Don't be a stranger. I always love your videos. They are some of the best guitar videos out there. Thank you very much.
At a party, just play the song and say “OK, that’s enough!” and return to your beer! So even if you only know to play just one song, nobody is none is the wiser! 😊
Hi Pilgrim, nice telecaster. I just bought a Squier '70' classic vibe telecaster natural with two humbuckers, very similar but yours has that dark rich color and the grain shows through, mine is lighter color. As always another great 😊 video. Peace.
Mr. Pilgrim, please check out JJ Cale's first solo on the song Low Down. I could have never guessed that someone would play a solo like that or pick those notes, but what he does is perfect. Short and sweet. Maybe you see something there. JJ Cale has such a unique style anyway, his soloing is some of the best ever.
One other comment on up/down picking. Emerson Lake & Palmer, From the Beginning... the fast part on the intro... I'm pretty sure Greg Lake was using all down/up strokes. All very consistent and smooth over FOUR strings. It takes practice. Also, I always use the down/up strokes on the beginning of "Help" by the Beatles. Same thing, down/up over FOUR strings.
Greenday must have been listening to a lot of The Ventures before they came up with this, particularly Pipeline, with some of Henry Mancini's Peter Gunn thrown in for good measure.
My man - please, please do some more acoustic guitar lessons!! 🙏 Some more Neil Young would be great but could you also consider doing some George Harrison, or even some Tom Waits? I would love to see your spin on some of their stuff!! Peace and love ✌️ A great channel
I vibe with this dude bc his axe is like mine except mine's a "strat" body. True, I built mine from scratch using premium torrified woods (not sure bougie Paoletti uses these woods - " bougie" is unfair bc I charge similar $$ for mine but life isn't fair so friggin' get over it). My body is also swamp ash (same color except I used gold metal flake instead of black in the open grain) but my pickguard is acid-treated steel not brass bc it's stronger therefore more manly. And - obviously - my skills and labor mean that I didn't pay $4K for mine (but I really did bc I could have sold mine for that but we'll keep that on the DL). But mine and his have the same aesthetic, same vibe and he's got some grungy raunchiness in his tone so I think we might be the guitar equivalent of Eskimo brothers, lol.
This might be even better than the James Bond theme! What do you think? TABS: bit.ly/4ajWcBC
I used to play this song with my band
Peter Gunn theme song, Henry Mancini
That Guitar………. 🙈 God it’s bloody nice 👍🏻🙏🏻
Paoletti. Italian guitars made from 150 years woods 😉
@@santitaboada1460gotta be more detailed chestnut wood from 150yr old wine barrels. Not any wood.
@@ivanriverajr5012 yes 👏👏👏

This is a really cool riff, I've gotta say I was shocked when you said Green Day. I thought it was some sort of 50s/60s instrumental track. Awesome!
same here, I got the shadows vibe
This dude rocks big time. One of my top favorite music channels on youtube. Appreciated.❤
I've just recently discovered the joys of surf guitar after looking down my nose at it for decades, so this video is very timely.
Great!!! We need many more of this !!!
That sounds great. Thanks GP, I’m definitely going to try that one.
Your channel it's wonderful❤

🎶 Really really… listen to that grove, awesome, Thanks 🎸
Never heard that one before. Very interesting tune Thom. Thanks for the lesson and hope that you and your family are doing well! 👍👍🎸🎸
Sounds like The Shadows
That stuff stays cool forever thru the ages.
great riff
Very cool 👍👍
Cool Sound. Built around the nasty „Tritonus“ blue note, has a distinct 60‘s sound and feel.
At a party, just play the song and say “OK, that’s enough!” and return to your beer! So even if you only know to play just one song, nobody is none is the wiser! 😊
Nice!

A simpler version of Pipeline. Still a blast to play.
Yeah! Pipeline...
- Dick Dale and SRV..
Or ....
- Stevie Ray and Jimmy Lee together on a doubleneck
Very much fun
You deserve 500K subs at least
For a more challenging exercise, transpose to F# and play with 4 fingers
In slow way it stars like The Sound Of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel!!!
🎉
Cool, I never heard this tune before. Reminds me of 60s surf songs, and Pipeline.

You guys had better also look up Bloody Mary by The Living End
Surf song?
Nice instrument! Even nicer in your hands, kind of pricey ...
Title of.the song ?
Heb je serieus al zoveel ‘wear’ op je fretboard? Zolang heb je deze toch nog niet?
Kind of like Dick Dale
If you don't play scales you will never be able to play the guitar
Factually incorrect
