Oh, Gary! How I've missed my RUclips friends! I've been so busy since the beginning of October 2023. First with crochet Autumn pumpkin hats for some wonderful kiddos that used to live across the street from me. Then, a couple of reversible knit beanies for one of those kiddo's classmates who was going through chemo (one for her and the other for her mom who shaved her head in support). Once all those were complete, I got to work on some last minute Christmas gifts for family coming from out of state. So, I was up to my neck in crochet slipper socks ranging in sizes from small child to a mens size 12. I was so "over the moon happy" that everyone loved them. After the holidays I was obcessed with beginning my journey into knitting socks. Then an old friend let me know she's a grandma again! So, I added knitting a baby sweater set to send her way into the mix. Now, I'm finally here, trying to catch up with my favorite RUclipsrs... and I just had to see you first. Loved this video! I've been so curious about Knit Picks' yarns. I have a 16" circular of theirs but, haven't had the opportunity to actually put it to work yet. Its a fixed US size 8, if i remember correctly. And, I found that the cable was a little stiff out of the wrapping so, I set it aside to play and get familiar with at a later date. I have been eyeing their short interchangeable needles. So, I'll be really interested in your opinion of them. Their wooden needles come in such beautiful color varieties, it's hard not to be attracted to them. 😊 Ok, my friend, now that I've written sooo much for you to have to read... I will give your eyes a break and end here. 🤟 💜✌️🧶
😂I'm so silly. I just realized that you open your chat by saying " hello yarn lovers" I saw it on the merch while reading the descriptions. I always thought that you were saying " hello YOUNG lovers. Lolol😅😅😅😅. Oh boy 😂😂
Good for KnitPicks - very wise of them to choose you as one of their "faces"! Your descriptions are always thorough and thoughtful, and you're so pleasant to spend time with! Enjoy the yarn and needles!
Hello. I love everything Knit Picks yarn and needles. I feel that you will really enjoy everything in your box. I can’t wait to see what you make with the yarns and needles you received. Good luck to you and your affiliation. So enjoyed your program and loved to see your happiness.
Congratulations on your Knit Pix affiliation! Can't wait to see what you create with all your new yarns. I hope you and the family are well and staying warm. (Including Hank 😂)
Hi Gary. Congrats on getting the Knit Picks affiliate link. They sure did send you a lovely box of yarns and those special knitting needles. Very nice.
Thanks so much Rosie! I've been missing your videos. I know that the move happened a while ago, but I'm sending you good vibes and hoping you've settled in well.
I love their woolen/cotton .... so nice to work with ... good definition .... strong and warm. Love it. I've only ever used the "bare" un-dyed version. I've made sweaters, hats, crocheted and knitted items. Cable work shows up really well.
Thanks Marshawoods for that cheerful message. I've been a lover of Knit Picks for a few yearns now. My first order with them was some Muse hand painted yarn in 2020.
Hi Gary great that knit picks asked you to represent them. You always have and give such good information. Take care and will look for your next podcast. Kathy.
Hi Gary, beautiful yarn! Congratulations on your affiliation with knit picks❤This is perfect timing for me! I have been researching interchangeable knitting needles for weeks! Seeing this video and comments from other fans, I believe my choice of brand has been decided! Thank you. I always enjoy your videos ❤ from Nova Scotia
How exciting Gary! I am new to your channel, and have never ordered from Knit Picks. When I am ready, I will do it through your link! I also love the greens! Okay, love them all but especially the greens. 💚
Hello and Welcome Hoofnlt03 - I'm so glad you introduced yourself. Thank yo for any future uses of the link and for supporting the channel. We are both green lovers!
So glad that you get to enjoy Knit Pick's yarn. Your smile when you hold that green squishiness is pure joy. In case you get to ask more questions just try and see if they will ever open to other countries. Some girl in Italy is eager to try the yarn but they don't deliver overseas😭
Gary, I love the knit picks needles. I have the interchangeable Caspian needles and they are my all time favorites! I do need to check out the short ones though, they look lovely. So nice to see you, my friend!
Hello Penny! I'm so happy to read that you're a Caspian needle user. I'm still looking forward to trying them out. It's always so nice to read your messages. Hugs to Missy and Gwinn.
The wooden knit picks are among my fav. The yarn glides through them and they feel so good in my hands--better than my expensive Latern Moon needles. I bought a set of shorties in their metal Reflections line and haven't tried them yet. ALSO please get a set of the Wecrochet Dots hooks. I love mine. Wecrochet is the sister company to Knit Picks. They are now partnering with Ophire Hooks. I'm anxious to try this new competitor to Furls. Enjoy your goodies, my friend.
Hello, Gary! I used to knit all the time. My hands find crochet to be kinder now, but I still pick up the needles now and again for a brief reminisce. I have purchased from Knit Picks, many needle sets, metal, short and most recently the steel. I'm definitely a metal girl. Love their cords. They are so flexible and never give you a problem. I really love them. I've bought many books from them also, which I've enjoyed over the years. A favorite is a collection of crocheted afghans/throws by their own employees. Wonderful patterns. Lastly, the yarn I purchased was sock yarn. Excellent, but alas socks are a bit difficult for me now. The most recent item was a yarn winder I found on Amazon for a decent price. I haven't used it yet but it's a sturdy, well made item I will get to when I get the time. Knit Picks is a great company, Gary. I believe you'll find them pretty good. Love to you and Chad and Pixel and a soft little peck on the cheek to hunky boy, Hank! Good luck with that! Lol! 💕💕💕
Hello Nancy Carol! I'm thrilled to learn so many of the facets Knit Picks/WeCrochet offers to crafters. I do love the sounds of the book where all the employees have made afghan patterns. Such a sweet way to celebrate the talent in their own company. I would love to work in an environment where we would play with yarn all day long - choosing colours and yarns to mix and match! What a dream job. In my mind this will be me when I'm retired... LOL!
Thank you for showing us all the different yarns from Knit Picks. I really appreciate that you took the time to state the number of colors available in each style. My very first set of interchangeable needles was a Knit Picks set that my sweet mom gifted me. I am partial to the Chiaogoo needles, but I still use my Knit Picks needles quite often. Also, I believe the cables for the Knit Picks and Knitters Pride needles can be used interchangeably.
Hello Egore - thank you for your tip on the Knit Picks and Knitter's Pride cables being interchangeable! This is the first time I'll be using the Knit Picks needles and I'm really looking forward to giving them a go.
Hi Gary. congratulations for your new affiliation with Knit Picks! I have become a fan of their needles in the past year. Have not bought their yarn yet. I will use your link for more purchases in the future!!
Hello Amy - thank you for your congrats and good cheer! I'm super excited too and I'm new to the knitting needles Knit Picks has, so this will be a great chance to try them out.
Congrats on the affiliation with Knitpicks, I have those shorties but I use them with the swivel cables of knit pro. They fit beautifully. I love knit pick, so will definitely take a look at their stock. Happy knitting!
hello Entwinedmar - thank you so much for the congrats. I'm looking forward to seeing what all comes of this venture. It certainly does fit so nicely with how much I love their yarn collections.
Hi Gary! Congrats on the affiliation with Knit Picks! I’m definitely getting some of that Twill! It’s beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I’m looking forward to seeing what you make and what you receive in the future. 🥰🧶
Hello Ruthie - The Twill was a favourite of mine! If you do get some, please let me know what pattern you end up choosing to use the yarn on. I'm always looking for one or two coloured patterns.
This is a lovely selection of Knit Picks products. You will be a great affiliate for the company. You always show yarns, etc. so well and it is always a pleasure to see your hauls. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Thanks Quilty! It's really an honor to be asked by a company and product I love. We are in a testing phase and so far there's no roadblocks or concerns.
Congratulations on the affiliation!! Love knitpicks! I'm not that fond of Peruvian highland wool, a bit toothy for my tastes, but gorgeous colors!! The twill would make a beautiful "saffria mosaic magic" cowl... It's in my queue, haven't decided on colors. Loving the swish pops too, definitely need to try it. 💞 I'm thinking minnesconsin cowl for that, doing it in fingering right now & its fun. Yes ... I'm still into cowls. 😂🤣😂
Thanks so much Patti for the cheerful message and congrats. I've off to look at that pattern you suggested! ... just back from the search and the triangle pattern work does remind me of ceramic mosaic tiles! Nice one Patti! (I didn't see any projects that stream off this page on Ravelry - perhaps you'll be the first).
Hi Gary. Amazing job getting affiliated. I wish I could shop in the US however it’s so expensive. She shipping and exchange go down I will for sure use your links. Great yarn.
Hi Heather - I feel the same way on the exchange rate and shipping. I'm a bit of batch purchaser and waiting for a few collections I've been eyeballing. However, when that lines up with a sale, then it's a perfect storm... LOL!
Congratulations!! 🎉🎉 I would have the same concerns as well. I also like their yarns as well and very nice customer service when I had to deal with them. 😊
A US I hook is 5.5mm. A K is 6.5mm. I’ve wanted some of those beautiful hooks & needles from Knit Picks forever. What a wonderful box from them! Can’t wait to see what you make!
Thanks CrochetJunkie80 for the helpful reminder. I'm always caught off guard with hooks or labels that only use the letter for measurements. I'm a metric Millimeter kind of person through and through.
I have that provincial tweed in Salsa Verde. Be careful when you start to wind it. I had one cake that kept flying off my ball winder. I'm making my husband a sweater with it.
Gary, I’m so happy you chose to affiliate with Knit Picks! I will definitely use your link for future purchases. I cannot say I’m a regular buyer, but they often have yarns on offer that are impossible to pass up due to the deeply discounted prices. The ‘corners’ of my stash have been filled in with wonderfully exotic stuff thanks to Knit Picks! Best of luck with this new association.
Hello Gregory - thank you so much for the congrats and that you'll be willing to use the affiliate link to help the channel. I appreciate that. I'm the same way as you when I'm purchasing. I love the Knit Picks twice a year sale they have and that's what I wait for.
hiya gary! well, congratulations! good for you. i buy from we crochet, their sister company. very nice selection they sent you. hugs to you, chad and pixel
Oh you did! Thank you! I'm not sure how it all works either. You know I needed to go check on the account because I got so excited (and curious to see how it works). It looks like you were my first (and only) order that came through! Yay!
Linda I do feel the washing instructions can get overwhelming at times, but when it's all said and done - I love to wear all those luscious warm items and that makes up for the fuss. Twill Fingering had the easy care instructions - Machine Wash on gentle and Tumble Dry Low.
I'm pulling together a knit picks order now, so timing is great on this. Their prices are great compared to the quality of the yarn and I really love that their color options are plentiful. I don't have much occasion to use kitchen cotton, but when I do, it has to be their dishy. I can't go back to using anything else, lol. It's a good company to affiliate with. Congratulations.
Hello Paula - I'd love to hear what catches your eye when you are shopping on Knit Picks / WeCrochet. I agree with you on the price vs quality with the yarn collections offered. I just received the Knit Picks magazine and there's a bunch of yarns that are new to me in there.
Hi Gary an I hook is a 5.5 so that would be why they said that size just didn’t want you to use a 6.5 . Your work is always beautiful can’t wait to see what you create. How do you find the shipping fees to Canada? 😊oh what nice sock needles 😊they are so pretty
Hello there - thanks for the reminder on the letter sizing in millimeters. I always get confused with the letter measurements - I like to cut to the chase and go right to the millimeters... LOL! I'll get it right one day. I find Knit Picks shipping to my home address in BC isn't too crazy and they ship it to me Canada Post - which is my preference. It takes normally 3 days for the notice email to come through that the order is packed and dispatched - 9 days after that to reach my front door. Please check on their website if there are any special shipping points for the location you live in.
I have made socks - but not from scratch. I was gifted several sock tubes that I had to transform into socks by adding the heels, toes and cuffs. The sock tubes were in Patons Kroy Sock Yarn and they are still holding up superbly years later. I would say Patons Kroy Sock Yarn would be a nice start.
Hello Marilyn - I'll try to copy over the link in here for you. Now this is the affiliate link if you want to use it to help the channel. shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1396413&u=4060762&m=59159&urllink=&afftrack=
Little Knits has some beautiful yarns.🧶 Can’t wait to see what you make with them. I love your softness scale. I know exactly how soft a yarn will be. Congratulations on being an affiliate.🎉

Thanks Valerie. I'm looking forward to seeing where this all goes as well.
I love their woolen/cotton .... so nice to work with ... good definition .... strong and warm. Love it. I've only ever used the "bare" un-dyed version. I've made sweaters, hats, crocheted and knitted items. Cable work shows up really well.

Thanks Nancy!
Congratulations on becoming an affiliate. Thank you for for the yarn reviews.
Thanks Ann! I really am excited and hope that this is the beginning of a fun and wonderful partnership.
I've had only positive experiences with Knit Picks yarn and tools. Their color ranges are exceptional. Nice to see you're now an affiliate.
Kathy.
Hello Kathy! Thank you for your cheerful message!
I'm super excited for the opportunity!
Hello Jeanette from Nova Scotia! I'm curious as to what set you landed on?
How exciting Gary! I am new to your channel, and have never ordered from Knit Picks. When I am ready, I will do it through your link!
I also love the greens! Okay, love them all but especially the greens. 💚
Hello and Welcome Hoofnlt03 - I'm so glad you introduced yourself. Thank yo for any future uses of the link and for supporting the channel.
We are both green lovers!
Congratulations on your Knit Picks Affiliation 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much Dee!
So glad that you get to enjoy Knit Pick's yarn. Your smile when you hold that green squishiness is pure joy.
In case you get to ask more questions just try and see if they will ever open to other countries. Some girl in Italy is eager to try the yarn but they don't deliver overseas😭
I will ask my contact if the shipping will ever include other countries.
Hi Gary and you create your colors really great, have a bless evening.
Thanks Linda!
That sounds like a great plan with crochet hooks. What an exciting partnering with Ophire, thanks for flagging it.

Hi Pam - We are all well here and hope you are too. Thanks for the cheerful message.
Congrats on your Knitting Picks journey!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!! 😊 Jax I'm super excited to see where this goes.
Hi Gary.. I absolutely love my shorties needles. They are light and less to handle. I use them for scarves. 🧣
This is great to know that shorties may be a more comfortable choice of needle for projects like scarves too. I'm thinking I need to try them out now!
Knit Picks is wonderful❤❤
That’s great news, their yarns are great. I will definitely go through your site to order. Congrats Friend!
You are so kind - thank you (ahead of time) for any support with the links.
Hi Gary. Great items given to you. Those earthy and green hanks are you all the way.😊 I'm sure you'll make something amazing as always.
Thanks so much Danette. Knit Picks did nail the colour choices.
I love the way you talk about the yarn and rate it. Big congrats on the affiliation
Thanks so much CarrieJ!
What wonderful items. I actually have a set of their Tunisian hooks in that caspian wood 😛
Btw Gary.. a “I” hook is a 5.5 hook 😉
Thanks Kriss for the hook letter size reminder. I'll pick it up one of these days.
Great yarn. Can't wait to see what awesome makes you have in store!!
Me too!!
Hi Gary ! Those colors are beautiful.
Hello there!
I'm thinking minnesconsin cowl for that, doing it in fingering right now & its fun.
Yes ... I'm still into cowls. 😂🤣😂
Thanks so much Patti for the cheerful message and congrats.

Hi Jan! You've gotta love the tweedy bits!
LOL!
The Twill looks like it would be a beautiful brioche!! The 40" cable is great for magic loop instead of dpn's.
That's true about the magic loop option for the longer knitting cable cord.
Congratulations!! 🎉🎉 I would have the same concerns as well. I also like their yarns as well and very nice customer service when I had to deal with them. 😊
I agree with you on Knit Picks customer service.
@@urbanyarn of course! I only knew I is a 5.5 because it’s the size I use most often. 🤣
I have that provincial tweed in Salsa Verde. Be careful when you start to wind it. I had one cake that kept flying off my ball winder. I'm making my husband a sweater with it.
That's a great tip to be aware of when winding the Provincial Tweed.
Nice yarn, thank you for your honest opinion
You’re welcome 😊 - Thank you for watching friend!
Congratulations on your new affiliation!!
I'm super excited about it too. We are in test mode right now and one I feel will workout well.

Hello Gregory - thank you so much for the congrats and that you'll be willing to use the affiliate link to help the channel. I appreciate that.
I'm the same way as you when I'm purchasing. I love the Knit Picks twice a year sale they have and that's what I wait for.
I love those 'tweedy bits!'
LOL - I do wonder where my words go from time to time... LOL!
I like Knit Picks! I think they are also We Crochet.
That's right Flash963 - There are only a small difference between the two sites - mostly tools, patterns and accessories are more tailored to crochet.
This is so funny, as I just bought those shortie needles this week. Haven't tried them yet but they are beautiful. LOL
Hi Louise - we will have to compare notes on our test try of the shortie knitting needles.
Congratulations, Gary!
Just made my first purchase from WeCrochet using your link…thanks Gary
Thank you Gary, very enjoyable
💜💜💜
Beautiful yarn
Interesting yarn!
Wow what a beautiful box of yumminess ❤

Awesomesauce!
hiya gary! well, congratulations! good for you. i buy from we crochet, their sister company. very nice selection they sent you. hugs to you, chad and pixel
I've shopped through the WeCrochet site too when I'm looking for a few crochet tools or get better deals on shipping.
I was gifted some knit picks yarn last year. I want some more soon. I’ll use your links. ❤
Thank you so much Cheesegoddess for any help with your next Knit Picks or WeCrochet purchase.
not sure how the affiliate links work, but I just used the we crochet link and made a purchase.
Oh you did! Thank you!
I'm not sure how it all works either. You know I needed to go check on the account because I got so excited (and curious to see how it works). It looks like you were my first (and only) order that came through! Yay!
Congrats on ur affiliation. Beautiful yarns however a little to rich for my blood. Lol and no handwash for me! Getting old and tired...😅
Linda I do feel the washing instructions can get overwhelming at times, but when it's all said and done - I love to wear all those luscious warm items and that makes up for the fuss. Twill Fingering had the easy care instructions - Machine Wash on gentle and Tumble Dry Low.
you are so adorable. really enjoyed video
Thank you 🤗
😊Gary!!! Hello
Hello!
Those yarns are so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
Congrats Gary! 🎉🎉. So happy for you!
It's really an honor to have this opportunity and such a generous package of yarn/goodies.
Hi there Gary!
Hello Lynette.
Love your content Gary!
Thanks Suzann!
It will be interesting to hear what you think about the shorties.
I was thinking of casing on next week using the shorties and the Twill Fingering. Looking for a pattern.
Very beautiful colors and great yarn!
Excited to see #knitpicks for you ❤
Happy new year Gary
Happy New Year Jojo!
Hi
Hi!
Gary, congratulations on KnitPicks! How wonderful. Couldn’t happen to a nicer person. Good luck as you forge ahead!👏👏👏💐🫶🏼🫶🏼
Thank you kindly!
Have you ever made socks? If so, what’s your favorite sock yarn?
I have made socks - but not from scratch. I was gifted several sock tubes that I had to transform into socks by adding the heels, toes and cuffs. The sock tubes were in Patons Kroy Sock Yarn and they are still holding up superbly years later. I would say Patons Kroy Sock Yarn would be a nice start.
😊
Knit picks has beautiful yarn.. most of wich has wool, so o dont purchase there. But if i ever do..😊
Thanks Joanneannese for being there if you decide to go shopping... I'm super excited to see where this goes.
What a great selection, have fun and enjoy them.🧶👍🤗
Thank you! 🤗
I is a 5.5 J is a 6 & K is a 6.5
Thanks Louise - I'm learning. I prefer to have the millimeters on the labels to help with knowing for sure, but I'll get there.
@@urbanyarn I keep chart downloaded on my phone. I knew those because they are the ones I use the most.
I am not able to find the link to Knit Picks. Please point to to their location. Thanks
