What a beautiful city, and a great day to enjoy it. That food looked so delicious. I love how sometimes things don't go to plan and you probably had a better meal because of it. Hope you all enjoyed your holiday together and thank you as always for bringing us along.
My wife of 37 years is South Korean. I love Korean Food. This is amazing. Its not cheap food as I know so much effort is required (believe me). I would easily pay Euros 40 minimum per person. The best Korean dishes for me are the Sea Food Noodles, Jap-Chae Glass Noodles and the Spicy Rice Cakes (Tteokbokki).

Hi Greeno, another great video! Those crepes looked fantastic. I'm gobsmacked by how much your daughter looks like I did when I was around the same age. I even had the same glasses!! 👓 I visited Bordeaux briefly in my late teens, but I remember little of it now. Great to see some footage from around the area. Great video Greeno love that you get Mrs Greeno and the little one involved I have noticed with some Korean dishes that the vegetables are cold and I believe that is how some dishes are meant to come out.🙂
I first tried Korean food in Wales Gerwyn, used to be a great place just outside St Mellons on the way to Newport, no idea if it’s still there as it was about 20 years ago!
Looked great Greeno. This review was right up my street, we were in Bordeaux in July and went to Korea in March to visit my daughter who lives out there. Korean food is brilliant, glad you liked it and you made Bordeaux look like the beautiful city it is! Well done.
Mr. Greeno...Just a note that most people mix everyhing in the bowl together. Usually with a fermented chili sauce. Bibimbap translated... "bibim" - mixing "bap" - rice. Enjoy your videos and its nice that you include the family at times. You'll have to travel here sometime and visit Atlanta, or the Southeast US in general, to sample Southern "cuisine". Have a great day. 😊

On a roll with great food in France! I really recommend a couple of days in Lyon, the French gastronomic capital apparently. didn't know that beforehand as we went there to watch the Hammers. Nice city and there is a lovely little bistro in the old town near where the funicular stops called Le Bistrot Nicéphore The couple who run it are lovely.
This video has just brought back some happy memories from a couple of months ago when Mrs Timbo and I were there. The weather was equally good when we went. Absolutely loved it!
Your Korean pronunciation is very entertaining. LOL By the way, bibimbap is eaten with a spoon and bibimbap literally means mixed rice so everything is well-mixed together before eating. You mention some of the veg being cold and that is quite correct. There is a hot version of bibimbap and comes to your table sizzling hot.

I live in France and am in Bordeaux often. Not where I would have chosen to eat Korean food, but....Glad you tried the canelés, an acquired taste for sure; not sure why the Bordelais make such a big deal out of them when they have a wealth of better local offerings. Sorry you didn't actually try some authentic local cuisine, but glad you enjoyed the city. The cabbage, btw, is kimchi, a staple of Korean cuisine -- they bury it in the ground for about 6 months; also an acquired taste.

HI Greeno & Family well you certainly enjoyed your Korean. I have never eaten that type of food it looked good but sorry it is really not my type of food. And never using Chop-Stick I could be sitting there now trying to try this. Enjoy your stay and look forward to the next one.
Great video as always! I lived in Korea for 3 years and it's a wonderful place-lovely people and delicious food, but don't go there if you don't like rice!! Bap is a bread roll to many in the UK, but in Korea, "bap" means rice, and they adore it! A lot of the names of the dishes (bibimbap, kimbap), let you know the staple ingredient. Koreans aren't big fans of potatoes but they love their "bap"!!
I like the plain makgeoli once in a while. Here in Korea it is about 80p for a 700ml bottle but a couple of bottles gives you a thumping headache the next day. More than beer or soju does. Give soju a chance next time ;) I lost 5kg in my first couple of months because I couldn't use chopsticks. As for the bibimbap, it looks really nice Greeno and I love the meat and veg to rice ratio.

That does seem like an outlier cuisine in Bordeaux, but hey. Everybody needs somewhere to be and something to eat while they're there. The food looked slightly nontraditional, like the presentation had been elided just a bit to work with local tastes - but Korean chefs are brilliant at that. And it definitely used easily recognizable pieces of Korean classic menus to build the dishes you had. Very interesting and it looked great!

I thought the food looked really good Greeno, dumplings oh yesss!! Enjoy that one sir, good to see you all having family time and enjoying yourselves. What’s you prediction for you tomorrow Greeno? ⚽️ ….Smithy
Yeah, not what we expected to eat, but I am pleased we found it ! As for tomorrow - I would like to think we could capitalise on Everton's awful start to the season.... so it'll probably be 3-0 to them !
Always be careful how you pronounce crepe :D And more than a pleasure to see 2 of the the 3 ladies in your life. And a different take on KFC = Korean ....... :)
Canelés: - Flavour: Rum-ish cake = Yes please - Outside texture: Crispy on the outside = Yes please - Overall texture: Rubbery = No thank you. I could literally see it bounce back into shape as you were squeezing it. Not nice I love crepes! The fillings/sauces on these things are far too subjective and obviously there is no right or wrong. I would find just sugar (presuming it was granulated) to be too gritty. Whereas Nutella is probably too predictable for me. What I like is genuinely proper maple syrup or very dark bitter chocolate. I also like them flambéed in rum; sorry, back to the rum again. I know flambéing is usually orange liquor, but I am not keen on the orange flavour. The Korean dishes defintely did look good. Although I will swerve the fizzy banana drink.
I like Korean, etc but my one fear is fish sauce 😂😂😂. Like Worcestershire sauce yuck, all the chefs say oh you can't taste it unfortunately my tastebuds can 😂. Same with anchovies argh. Never understand why people ruin lamb by putting anchovies in leg of lamb a no no from me sorry.
Oh I like those slightly funky flavours - a tomato juice with a good whack of Worcestershire sauce - or a pizza loaded up with anchovies and olives, lovely !
You went to Bordeaux and didn’t go to the Bacalan??? You’d have had all the regional food you could have eaten. And you wouldn’t have had to eat Korean. 🧐🤔

13:25 why so close? not mrs. Greeno is it?
Mrs Greeno was filming me. For some reason in a pretty empty restaurant another table decided to sit right nextto us !
@@GreenoEats 😀
Needs some dipping sauces
Fair comment!
Food looked good. Not sure why people eat with two sticks instead of a fork though
Ha ha, it makes it harder to eat, so maybe you eat less 🤣
@@GreenoEats Ha ha good point
Food looked great.
I think the stainless steel dog bowl is selling them short.
Apart from that 9/10
The foor was really tasty - a riot of flavour
👍
😀
Always be careful how you pronounce crepe :D And more than a pleasure to see 2 of the the 3 ladies in your life. And a different take on KFC = Korean ....... :)
Funnily enough there were loads of fried chicken shops in Bordeaux, HFC, CFC, FFC :-)
😃👍
🙂
You and Gary with Mushrooms? What made you turn Against them?
Beard Meats Food hates them too - all 3 of us can't be wrong can we ha ha !
Canelés:
- Flavour: Rum-ish cake = Yes please
- Outside texture: Crispy on the outside = Yes please
- Overall texture: Rubbery = No thank you. I could literally see it bounce back into shape as you were squeezing it. Not nice
I love crepes!
All roads lead to Rum... :-)
I love canelés! But I'm incapable of describing the taste of even the texture of it! It's an oddity.
It is a strange texture isn't it - but delicious nonetheless!
@@GreenoEats Sure is!
France, Germany etc has it right, Sunday is a day of relaxation, which Uk would learn, its not about shopping and watching football on Sky TV 😂😂😂
It's a fair point (although incredibly unhelpful to the bloke wanting to film in the cit on a Sunday ha ha!)
100% agree, especially if it is AFC Bournemouth playing the football...!! 🤣
Vachement interessant je crois. J'espere que tout va bien avec vous, Madame Greeno, et La Petite Greeno!
Tout va bien pour moi et ma famille - merci pour votre gentillesse!
Even more false endings to the eating part than we had at El Murrino...!
😀
Not trying to be cryptic…when in Rome UB40
I may have sampled a glass or two on the 2 evenings we spent in the city 🍷
I'm not going to "Bordeaux" I've got better things to do with my time thank you!!!
Ok, then don't go 🤣
@@GreenoEats Not going to, mate.
Why was the food served in a dog bowl 🙈
Ha ha - good question!
You went to Bordeaux and didn’t go to the Bacalan??? You’d have had all the regional food you could have eaten. And you wouldn’t have had to eat Korean. 🧐🤔
We didn't get that far on our stroll. And is it even open on a Sunday, which was the one full day we had in the city? Most other things were closed.
