Warmer in certain lighting conditions looks 100% better. Yes sometimes it doesn’t but not everything needs to look clinically blue because that’s not real life. Again you can adjust all this anyways so no need to argue preference. People are allowed to like what they want

I choose 15PM because it’s cheaper and has the same camera quality. In my experience the ultra wide of the 15PM is just better in low light and in daylight better hdr. In my experience with both I really can’t see a big difference like you mention. Color wise I like the warmer saturated tone but I think it’s just software processing and has nothing to do with hardware. Btw. I just don’t see as much difference as in the video so that’s really weird because I took a ton of photos and videos
You should keep your phone for another 3-4 years in order to see a bigger upgrade, also idk why people keep expecting a monumental leap at this point, but then again this is my opinion that you didn’t ask for🤷🏾♂️
The thing I like is you have more control now. You can always go back to that original photo look. If you’re not a fan or warmer tones you can totally change it and it’s not just a “filter”

I think I’ll keep my 15 pro max another year. I don’t see any major improvements. I was hoping the 16 pro max would have 8x optical zoom instead of 5x zoom but it is same as 15 pro max. Only the battery is better than 15 pro and a bit faster. So wait till 17 pro max.
I wonder if you used a filter because I really can’t see the difference between my 15PM and 16Pro. Ultra wide is even worse in low light and some reviewers show this. So what is happening. Update: I examined my photos again and it seems I used a warmer color style for the 15PM so that’s my mistake. The 16 does indeed make some warmer pictures. When pixel peeping I see some more aggressive noise reduction on the 16Pro which explains some loss in detail compared to the 15PM.
Do you think in this comparison the guy really had an iPhone 15 PM ? because he doesn't show it at all throughout and his results are inconsistent with what we know of the device
Excellent work, Danny! Two things worth mentioning: 1. HDR is improved across all cameras. 2. Light reflections are actually much improved in photo mode - in a way that they are still there but don't spill into the entire photo, ruining the quality. It might be worth a quick Instagram test.

Hey Danny it’s the same sensor as the 14 pro max a Sony imx803. Coming from the 15 pro max, I feel like day shots got slightly better HDR on the 16 pro max, but at times it’s negligible. More like 15s pro max instead of 16.

I have the 12 pro, I am not sure which one upgrade to (if any), for me the most important thing is the low light video with the back camera as I use that the most. And I want to get a Max for the bigger screen. I find the pro kinda small and hard to type sometimes.
In many years following tech I don't think I've ever needed to pixel peep so hard like I did in this comparison. And in many cases I still wasn't able to see a difference.
I don't know why we have to always pixel-peep to find out the improvements, I'm not liking those warm tones tbh but yes the details and some big differences in some scenarios are good. The main upgrades I can see are the 4K 120FPS and the better Ultrawide.
The iPhone really needs to change the hardware of these cameras, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra to say an example, is way better in my opinion in terms of look and detail with the main camera, and let's not talk about the ultrawide... Also it seems like the iPhone is changing the white balance every year, one year is cold, the other one is warm, the next one is cold, it would be great if they can add a manual control for white balance, at least, this is supposed to be a "Pro" phone.
I also recognized the pattern. The iPhone 14 comes with very bright HDR with warmer greenish tone, the 15 comes with contrasty looks with slightly colder (still warmer than most of the phone), now the 16 back again with very bright highlight and warmer tone and slightly oversaturated that looks like how Samsung Galaxy S22 processed the image
Xiaomi and vivo have better camera hardware but it has a cost. The cost of making the phone quite unattractive from the back. If you allow you camera setup to take 50% of your back panel then ofc you have more room to put bigger sensors and lenses. The challenge is to add this kind of hardware while keeping to back of the phone aesthetic and sort of minimalist.

To be fair I don’t even think the difference between the 13 pro max and the 17 pro max/ ultra will be as significant as it was when I upgraded from my xr to my 13 pro max. Knowing the prices in Europe I may invest first in a good sigma 1.4 lens for 900€. At least I will be able to use it for a decade and more.
Honestly the differences between 16 pro 15 pro and 14 pro are so so small and I compared my 14 pro to my 16 pro and honestly I prefer the screen of the 14 pro much more … Colours brightness and flat completely

I preferred the 15 pro ones for most part. The warmer tone especially on skins from 16 pro looks bad.
And the camera difference is not really huge.
The only thing that nails every tech in quality is our eyes 😊 all tech companies are trying hard for there arts to mach the clearity of our eyes💀
