- First (and last??) time played by the boss. Didn't expect to hear an INXS cover, but expect the unexpected at a Springsteen show I guess. Allphones Arena, Sydney.
Nice to see Bruce give some hommage to INXS..Michael Hutchence is sorely missed...
Yeah, its so sad what happened to Michael H. He was such an incredible singer and performer...
great stuff ..great concert . springsteen wrote the book on how do a live show
Great to see INXS being shared for another generation. Michael Hutchence left us WAY too soon!! LOVE it!! :-)
The smiles on the backing vocals and percussion says it all. It's all about the love of music! Great performance!
Holy wow...I had no idea he covered this song. So awesome.
Unreal . The best concert ive ever been to . Thankyou Bruce
Not a big Springsteen fan, but what a great way to show respect to Australia's best export. I LOVED INXS since a teen and this song is their anthem. Michael has been dead for over 16 years and it never stops being so sad. What a waste of an awesome voice, a charismatic icon, and a human life. RIP Michael.
Thanks for sharing this - saw the Boss in 84 and INXS in 82 - this was an unbelievable cover. It took me back 30 years. Well done!!
Bruce does EVERYTHING ON STAGE his own way he doesn't do it to impress people or make friends. He don't need approval from all you haters ,he does it for his own satisfaction and for his admiration and the respect he has for the original artist. He simply paid tribute to a great band and an amazing song. He wasn't trying to be anything he's not. He's only being Bruce...plain and simple !
To all those who said this was a horrible cover, and that this live version sucks...Bruce is covering the song because he obviously is a fan of the song, and probably a fan of INXS. And he had the perfect opportunity to perform it live...in Australia. RIP, Michael.
Probably the best New Wave song. Cool cover.
Kudos Bruce, you have great respect for Michael, I hear it in the way you perform this classic.
Da li treba reći nešto drugo osim prelepo, predobro, naj, naj, naj.......
Brus je najbolji i izvan vasione. Verujem da ga i tamo gde ima neko slušaju i uživaju u njegovim pesmama.
I have and still am going through something. But hearing this song and paying close attention to the lyrics made my eyes tear. The lyrics are powerful. I felt spoken to as I played this song. It's as if I came out of a dark tunnel alive and well. Thank u God and Michael Hutchence.
The lyrics are really powerful- and I'm sure that's why Bruce picked it.
This is fantastic.
I don't understand why people feel the need to get hypercritical about live covers. For me, when I'm at a show, which means I freakin' LOVE the person I've gone to see... if they cover a song by a band I also love, it means the world to me. I'm super HAPPY for the gift of being in that moment. And if they miss a note, or there's a slight technical error.... I don't give a s...! To me, doing a cover is a huge sign of respect for the original artist. Bruce Springsteen is a legend, and stands on his own as a phenomenal musician. I have loved him since I was a tot, just starting to remember song names and who wrote them... And INXS... wow. Heard 'em on pop radio, and loved 'em just as much as the Boss! But this song... it's special. Simple and amazing. I cry every time I hear it because I think of what could have become of the band had it not lost Michael. So to hear this song covered by someone I love is so special and perfect and I wish I could have heard it live. But since I wasn't there, I am incredibly grateful to the person who WAS and shared and posted this. Thank you blue54band for the beautiful moment. This is what it's all about guys.... sharing beautiful things with each other. Lay off on the criticism maybe...
This is amazing. This is INXS' best song and I love Bruce. This is so much better than the Lorde cover he'll do days after this. I think it is because he rocks this one with the confidence of The Boss.
WOW! VERY ambitious Bruce. One of my favorites covered by one of my favorites. It would've been a lot more impressive if Max actually LEARNED the song first. "Don't Change" is driven by and known for it's stand-apart drum licks and accents. But Max played it as if he's never heard it before. That straight 2-4 isn't gonna cut it with an INXS song. "A" for effort, "D" for execution.
Lien Ronnoco LOL! I don't even think they sound checked it! I remember a time when Bruce would never stray outside his comfort zone to attempt a song like this. And this video makes me miss those days!
Great tribute !! Excellent version !!
A little research shows he’s played this twice. Once in Australia and then in May 2014 he opened with Don’t Change in New York, May 2014.

Not the last time - He opened a show in Albany NY in April 2014 with this. I was there.
God bless you for sharing 😊❤
Loved it, would have given anything to be there!
Michael would have been so proud, love this song
THE BOSS.... él también cantó un tema de Inxs...el Don't change...👍✌️♾️🎵🎶
Have a feeling Bruce that day was like " I wanna play don't change by inxs, that's a kickass song" ..
Then bam.
Not perfect. But it's that much better because of it. All
About the love
I really had hoped he would play this song in brisbane
wow thanks for posting
would have been epic live. would love to hear the professional recording
AW! Sweet! But... Given that the original was first done by ambitious, young, hopeful guys I love the INXS version because it is so incredibly wistful. Bruce and the boys wanted to give props to the best band from down under and this song suits their style, so they did it. Good for them. They didn't keep the feeling of the first version, because Bruce and E Street are older guys who have made it, not young guys hoping for the best. Rather too fast and energetic, too. Too fast and energetic and they are all SIXTY SOMETHING?!
What am I THINKING?! I hope I have that kind of energy and drive when I am their age!! Its coming soon enough!!
terry bale ... I heard people rave about this but sorry, the boss absolutely murdered it
Is that tom morello on the left?
Mario Danilo Escobar sure is
Nice hatchet job Bruce.......
You're an idiot!
I couldn't put it in better words, well said.
Were you there Alan? It's music champ! Get over it!!
I wonder what Tim, Andrew, Jon&Kirk thought?
Linda Bradshaw You know they thought "awesome". What a tribute!
Always cut the boss some slack
Bruce, it's time to hang up the mic.
gustav!
Luv ya Bruce, but ya blew it. Not even close buddy
Bruce playin lo's ngside of Vin Diesel's dad.
LOL, that is not Vin Diesel's dad. That is Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave.
Nathaniel Wisdom and prophets of rage. Give them a listen, best show I have seen
I saw the Prophets of Rage last summer, great show.
hello Tom Morello?
AFI version is the best! even better than INXS!
How dare he ruin a classic like that.
You're an idiot!
I was goofin on what dizzy said: "Can't wait to hear catty, butt-hurt New Wave fans bitch and moan about how Springsteen is ruining a classic. Stupid bitches." So now who's the idiot?...
Horrible version = sorry folks but this sux.
Too ballsy for what was a melodic new wave song. Interesting though.
Jesus he's deaf isn't he. He's turned into Celine Dion whereas he has to yell every word at the top of his lungs. I miss the old boss.
Way to ruin a classic, Bruce. :(
This is terrible
