Do you also apply betadine along with bactigrass ? If yes then what are thr steps ? Like after cleaning with Nacl you'll apply betadine then put bactigrass over it and cover it right ?
Hello, I have a small wound on the outside of my foot that won't go away, near the heel. It looks like a notch, 2-3 cm long and 1 mm or less in width. I had a blow to my leg about a month ago, it formed a scab, and along the edge of the lower part is that wound. I don't have any pain, I feel normal, I can walk normally. I put on a band-aid and a bandage every day and before that I clean the wound with a combination of warm water and apple cider vinegar. I keep my leg above body level whenever I sit. I don't know what to do to make it heal. Should I walk anyway, can I put on shoes and walk outside?
@@NurseAlyssa39 No, unless I've become diabetic since my last blood draw, half a year ago. I don't have any symptoms, I always feel the same. I noticed that there is a yellowish color on the edge of the scab. I don't know if it's an infection. It doesn't hurt, maybe very little, there is no redness or swelling around. I washed my leg with a gentle stream of warm water and soap twice a day, and later applied antibiotic gel and gauze with a patch. Maybe I should leave the dressing on for a day or two, I really don't know. But thanks a lot for the answer!
@rampart-hmm3 ya it will not hurt to leave the dressing on for 2-3 days as lo g as it is not getting wet. In regards to offloading, this will help in the healing process.
In the home setting yes you can, but with that said please be cautious not to contaminate the unused part. Tape the package closed and alcohol scissors before cutting and cut with the backings on.

Yes, you can do that. Although if I'm using betadine, I normally would use inadine instead of bactigras as they are both povidone iodine.
