    Even though fish obtained from dolphins are less in quantity, it is a healthy way of catching dish without damaging ecosystem. Why cant burma give open as many training centers for fish catching by traditional methids to other countries so that ecological disasters can be averted.

    This documentary beautifully captures the essence of life along the Ayeyarwady River in Myanmar. From the bustling markets of Bhamo to the serene monasteries, the river is the lifeblood of the country, weaving together its rich history, diverse cultures, and vibrant traditions. The scenes of elephants working in the forests, monks collecting alms, and villagers navigating daily life provide a captivating glimpse into a world where time seems to stand still. Highly recommend watching to appreciate the natural and cultural beauty of Myanmar.

    An excellent video I’m watching here in Kalaw, Shan State, Myanmar with the fighting hopefully still maintaining a distance. Since the 90s I’ve tried to go north to go down the Irrawaddy but am always thwarted by the government. Some day. But regarding the video, it seems the narrator is another climate change alarmist. And painting the British as the evil doers in their colonial activities. Just ask a Burmese how they feel about the British vis à vis the military junta or the Japanese. No contest. My favorite country out of 80 or more. Someday soon going the way of affluence and globalization like Thailand did. A pity. It’s the real McCoy here.

    I'm curious when exactly this video footage was filmed because the country is currently in a state of civil war. Like was stated in the beginning the military had "given up control" of the country and let a democratic government begin. But the military still retained ultimate control by way of a corrupt constitution that they wrote and every single member of the new government was a retired military general except for the Hero of Myanmar - Aung Ang Suu Kyi. She has dedicated her life to bringing true democracy to Myanmar. And when she tried to actually start a democratic government, without the military secretly controlling everything, she was arrested and in 2021 was thrown in prison and the military retook control of the government. They have been killing thousands of civilians across the country by bombing villages, hospitals, refuge camps, and any gathering of citizens that opposes them. Why doesn't the world know about this??? Why does the UN never say a word or intervene to help the people of Myanmar???

    Deforestation of the Precious Teakwood trees, (and others) here is the same as it is elsewhere. It seems like wherever you go its the same. The trees are needed for construction, for fuel and for many other things and NO ONE ON EARTH seems to be able to stem the tide of the rampant deforestation that is happening all over the Earth. What will humanity do when all the trees are gone?? It has never seemed so impossible to me to somehow just change people’s minds a little by starting at a young age, educating the children about the need for increased Tree Planting programs. But somehow it just doesn’t seem to be happening. At least not much. Very Sad.

  • @harishrv
    @harishrv 8 месяцев назад +1

    One fully grown teak treein thick tropical rain forest takes almost 200 years .before cutting them down , it must have been replaced by at least four big teak trees to fill the vaccum. This continuous loop of tree cover being intact eventhough we utilise trees for human consumption is called as tree Sustainability wood business economy which is the urgent need of this moment for our planet to sustain.

    The majority of Myanmar people are great people. Well over 5% of them are filthy rich, mostly people being great suckers to Military Dictators. Well over 80 to 90% of Myanmar people are living well under the poverty line or living day by day basic apparently. Only a few per cent, a very few per cent of Myanmar people are middle-class people.
    Right now, in March 2024, I would say Myanmar is one of the worst countries in this world to live in as The Civil War is in a frightening situation. NOT SAFE to travel at all.

  • @sedoff1948
    @sedoff1948 9 месяцев назад +1

    I agree with one commenter regarding the vilified military junta. Despite its flaws it has saved and is beginning to renovate all the beautiful British colonial buildings in Yangon, and also in my appreciation, prohibited motorcycles in Yangon. “Democracies” don’t seem to have a particularly good track record , and Socrates and Plato weren’t exactly fans of democracy. The narrator seems to exude liberal posturing and virtue signaling- Climate change, bashing the British colonial presence, etc. But that is common with the youth of the West, particularly in the UK and the USA who seem to love to hate their countries, countries whose men generations before died for their very freedoms and affluence. I love Myanmar but am not convinced a so called democracy would save this country. I come often here and the difference between the Thais and the Burmese is striking. The Thais are seem more sullen, indifferent, unhappy and fixated on jumping on the global band wagon. I admit better heath care and education would be an improvement here.. But when democracy eventually is sustained in Myanmar I’m sure the usual corrupt politicians will come out of the woodwork and flourish, all to the detriment of the common Burmese.

And what kind of violence would have happened if cameras werent there when the young elephant wasnt broken yet and obeying you? Shame on you.
