The scissor joint is a popular timber joint in woodworking. It gets its name from its resemblance to open scissors, where two diagonal pieces intersect to create a strong and stable connection. This joint is appreciated for its simplicity and strength, making it suitable for woodworking enthusiasts of all levels. It is commonly used in furniture construction, framing, and truss building, providing excellent structural integrity to projects.

Simple but effective joint ... could add a dowel to lock the pieces together 👍

This is brilliant!!! Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make and upload your videos. I recently "discovered" your channel (looking how to to join lumber like this video), and slowly working my way through all the videos. Your style of showing and guiding us through the build process is really good and so easy to follow along. One of the best woodwork channels on RUclips. And what makes it even better - no horrible music!! Just a man and his workshop teaching us!! Thank you again.

amazing job. congrats!! How strong is this joint? I need to build a 4.5 meters long beam (12 x 12 cm) from two 3 meters long beams. Looking for the strongest join doable by a DIYer.
