Probably my favorite scene in the entire anime, except for maybe the DiSRX, and even that's maybe a tie. Shu's amazing theme is a big factor for this scene being so good.
There was a sign of it in this episode for those familiar with SRW history. Guest leader, Zezenan is briefly shown to be one of the 'Balmarians' showing up for the meeting. Now actually going back and looking at the episode and the previous one, they make it even more obvious. Still a Balmar ship, but making a point of repeatedly calling them 'Guests', even correcting one character who called them Aerogaters. They made it really obvious to the Japanese audience and the portion of English players/viewers who were already familiar with more than the OG games.
I only watched the anime so knew these were a different sort of aliens from the aerogators with Inspector giving the impression this event is what drew the Inspectors to earth with hostility though peace and hostility there was still arrogance so subjugation was always the goal I guess. Didn’t get the impression there was more than just Inspector representatives in the meeting
Those ppls are the one did not play mashou kishin back then on then SNES, cux they would know Masaki cybuster only able to best Granzon through possession
OG DW used some kind of strange 3d animation in conjunction with the usual 2D, most prominent in mecha combat scenes. They didnt use it again in OG Inspector

The only complete translation at the moment was done by Spirits of Steel/Digital Panic. It is a fansub. Bandai hasn't released all the episodes yet, so until then, the SOS Fansub is the best bet.
@Stealthwilde Divine Wars also cut out a lot of the last half of OG1. The fact that the anime was incredibly rushed at the end probably means the viewers were rather unhappy with the treatment ... or just didn't want it.

Hmm... I don't know if I'm allowed to ask or if you're allowed to answer here, but do you know where I could pirate this series? I was gonna show my support for SRT and buy the DVDs until I found out that those assholes at Bandai Visual felt that they could get away with $50 2-3 episode DVDs that only have crappy subtitles that border on fanslation quality, without even bothering to dub it in English.
Old comment, but I usually prefer subs because of the voice actors - the original voices seem to fit the characters better. Though some dubs are incredibly good (History's Strongest Disciple and Tales of the Abyss are better in English, though in the former Hermit and Shinnosuke Tsuji are better in Japanese), while some... like that of Gensomaden Saiyuki... are just terrible (a Chinese character with a Spanish accent. wtf). If they ever dubbed SRW, I kind of want Michael McConnohie as Sanger.
@The Fantom Convoy I got McConnohie from practically everything he's in, but my mind's changed over the years - Travis Willingham for Sänger, McConnohie is Kai.
I know this is already an old comment but... yeah sure he did get the bow.. of course the captain and ex-officer would get pissed, seeing as their men got blown of and stuff...
@Geshpenst Yeah... It wasn't that good. They tried too hard to cover every character since OG is basically a series of main characters. They should have focused on one of them (preferably not ryusei. he gets way too much screen time as it is). They should have made an OG2 anime since the story was better. Most of the battles involving reishiki weren't bad. The valshion battle was unforgivably awful though.
Alright, first off, DO NOT give me that "sub is better than dub" crap. I'm tired of people acting like there's some universal benefit to diverting your attention to the bottom of the screen and being unable to understand the words as they're being said, especially when 90% of English dubbing is just as good as the Japanese, and in fact better for most Americans. That said... I need a specific source, and one using the official subtitles rather than fanslation. I can't spend (continued)
I grew up in a country where everything is subtitled, except for cartoons - we're so used to following subs that we can focus on the entire screen (not just the bottom) at once. That's why our documentaries have the off-screen narrator dubbed, while the on-screen people are always subbed. This method takes away nothing from the experience. Dubs can also be ridiculous... try listening to Russian dubs where one man reads every line in a monotone. Practically every Soviet era dub was like that and it's cringey af.
