I really appreciate the new version of Episode 65 with the extra details of the Sprite wiper motor repair. The only question I have is how to place the cap to make the wiper blades park in the correct position.
I had to go back and watch both videos to check on this. Starting at about 6:25 in episode 64 you'll see that there are a couple of marks on the round cap and the main body of the wiper motor. I can't remember if I put those on there before I took it apart or if the marks were already there. In either case it was just a matter of lining those marks up to make sure things went back together the same way they came apart... all that assuming that it was in the correct position in the first place.
Thanks Ken. I'll leave the answer to your question to those that are more knowledgeable than me. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few cars that use this type of wiper motor if not the exact one.
Again, very good video which will be extremely useful to a lot of folks. Thanks Ian! Question for you. Are the three mounting studs screwed into the body of the unit or are they pressed in? One of mine is snapped off.

The disassembly instructions were very helpful.
Happy to be of service!
Excellent video, thank you.
You're welcome!
thanks Ian
You are most welcome!
Very detailed, thanks!! How many different cars had this or a very similar wiper motor? I'm sure this has to be very similar to the later models too

I believe this is the Lucas DR2 motor which was fitted to many different BMC cars of the 50s and 60s.

Thanks Gareth. The mounting studs are screwed in to the 'legs' of the wiper motor. Moss has a replacement set for them... part number 145-640.
