I really love this guy's music. I am not a religious person but I listen to his music all the time because even tho it's about loving God, you can take it anyway that you want. His music could be about loving God, loving yourself, enjoying life, etc. Always holding on and never giving up.

I heard this song on the radio, after looking it up, I was both surprised, and not so surprised, that I got turned to Mat Kearney again. Such an underrated guy. One of the few artists that makes me hear a song and ask 'WHO IS THAT?' more than one time.
His face at 0:15 when he sings those words expresses such emotion. Artists that can do that successfully are golden, not to mention increasingly uncommon.

God is an equal oppurtuniuty prayer responder. I finally found it! I first heard this song on the radio while I was driving in Dubai going to Abu Dhabi in 2013. But it was towards the end of the song so I had no idea what the title was. I tried to record it with my phone but the surrounding was so noisy it was difficult to listen to the recording. In 2017 I heard it again inside a store in Australia but it was towards the end of the song again. I was in the hotel lobby in Egypt in 2019 when I heard it again. January of 2020, I heard it in a mall in San Francisco. I asked my friend who was with me that time but she can barely hear it because of the noise. Then recently I heard it again on the radio inside my car, so immediately recorded it! I searched online and finally found it! IT TOOK ME 8 YEARS FINDING THE TITLE! I love this song. 😊
SAME except i heard it in the car and the tune stayed in my mind for the past 11 years after that 1 listen and i couldn't remember any of the words because i was a dumb 9 year old when i heard it and only recently was i able to dig it up by humming it into google since they just added a feature where it'll find songs if u hum something kind of close to it

My wife & I were lucky enough to win a trip to the fabulous Pinehurst, NC, golf & tennis resort. It was part of a national promotion run by Mercedes Benz dealers. Turns out Mat Kearney's dad was there and they lined Mat up as the entertainment for the main dinner to cap off the event. I have to admit I'd heard a few of his songs and liked them, but I didn't know his stuff well at all. He was great, put on a wonderful show with just one accompanist, and stuck around afterward to casually chat with people. Super impressed with his music and personality.
I've loved Mat Kearney ever since he came out with Nothing Left to Lose in '06 and he just keeps making songs that I can really love and relate to! He's the reason I taught myself to play guitar, such an inspiration =]
