I’m a nurse practitioner and I believe that mental illness is real. I believe that you can take medication until you build up faith and be healed. I also know that whom God sets free is free INDEED! You don’t encounter God and remain the same, never! He is not a man that he should lie. It’s ok not to be ok. It’s ok to get help. But I pray God delivers you soon because if he heals your mind, you will never need any pill anymore. God bless you and your family.

@@garrettjohnson499 I just walked with someone through coming off a benzo. That drug really effected his faith almost robbed his life. The episodes I saw him go through in withdrawal were so demonic. He is now 30 days off and doing really good for the first time in 30 years.

I was molested at 8, my dad died at 12, and by 14 I was smoking weed. This led me to take prescription pills and psychedelics. Now im diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and I did some CRAZY things because of mental illness. Im not at all ashamed of taking medicine. Ive seen my brain without it! Praise God for his redemption in my life

For all of you guys that were on a pill I was on many too one was invega for bipolar. I got freed from it. I had demons of mental illness in me. Was addicted to drugs, manic mood swings, depressed, suicidal, anxiety, rage, you name it. Once I got delivered from these demons I grew all the fruits of the spirit never did drugs and all my mental health was healed. Thank you Jesus. Jesus delivered many people with a demon of mental illness in the gospels of the New Testament. Not all mental illness is demonic but a good amount is. Say this prayer God break any generational curses in my life if there is any in Jesus name. Should everyone should stop taking medicine no. Fast and praying is important because some demons won’t leave without fasting and praying.

Lord Jesus don't judge him because he's saved. It's important that we don't let the unsaved go around thinking the same thing. The unsaved need to come to Jesus with saving faith, and then they can say the same thing. Although we must all give an account to Him, we who are saved have passed from death to life.
I could cry because this what I have been dealing with and prayed to the Lord about.

Jesus delivered many people who had a mental illness or physical illness in the gospels of the New Testament. I was actually delivered from demonic spirits of mental illnesses such as extreme rage, manic mood swings, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and drug addiction. Once I was delivered I had was freed from all of that and became fruitful. I have all the fruits of the spirit now. I’m not on any medication. I don’t crave drugs. I’m not angry, not going in mood swings, happy, full of joy, not depressed, self control, patience, no raging and many more improvements. Yes not all of it is demonic. We shouldn’t demonize everything but many of this is a root of demonization. We should also not put all of our faith into the DSM-5 because it was not inspired by the Holy Spirit but it does have many good truths in it. The ultimate truth is the Holy Bible. Everything else should come secondary.

Some of God's mightiest people have had their ups and downs, and have been in messy circumstances. Besides Jesus Himself, I don't think anyone's faith has been perfect, 100% of the time. I applaud this pastor for being real and I can tell he has a real, genuine relationship with the Lord. We should all learn as believers to show compassion towards one another instead of making blanket statements that can be detrimental to the body of Christ. We can learn from the book of Job and NOT be like Job's friends.
Jesus came to me when I was emotional and on depression. I became amazed. you get that energy when we realize that lord JESUS is with us.

I suffer from depression and anxiety and love God too. I have witnessed a person who couldn’t believe that I take anti anxiety pills and antidepressants even tho I believe so strongly in God. I told Him the same thing you did. Thank you for being a mouthpiece for God’s understanding and confirmation.

Yes they are the same as we are. I use to think that they were so perfect and holy and nothing was hard for them and that there lives were perfect, but its really not, they struggle just lime any other human. They just need alot of prayer because being pastors over a church is not easy, they need built up and lifted up.❤
When I was at my lowest and thinking about suicide, I read a book by Daniel Amen about ADD, ADHD I figured out from the book which pills I should take. I went to my nurse practioner and told him to give me an ADD test (which he did), I told him what drugs I wanted to try based on what I learned from the book. He decided the dose and prescribed them. It worked! I took the pills for about 3 years. Then I missed an appointment and couldn't get my prescription. At that point I decided to make up my mind not to agree with depression but to take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5,6) don't agree with every thought that runs through your head. I needed help to get me out of a bad situation, but at the right time I was able to overcome by practicing having the mind of Christ.
Also, about judging others for medicating for mental illness, read Romans 14. It's talking about judging for food, but it applies here also.

I smoked weed for 10 years. Took zoloft on and off for 5 years. My son was in the hospital for 28 days and I didn't have time to do anything. My son died, and God delivered me from both 🙏🏽 Be encouraged people.

I'm on a pill too, my man. And I have the generational curse of family suicide as well. BUT NO MORE. I'm with you. It's so important to so many people that you spoke up. So many people who won't comment are thanking you. An uncountable number of people need to hear this. You gave me strength today and you've helped so many heal by telling your story. You've helped so many people by taking and saying that you take a pill.
It’s okay to speak to those generational curses in your bloodline and tell them they have to go. They are there because someone gave them permission and it takes one person to break and take back that permission. Speak life and come against the hopelessness, depression, fear, and lies that’s been going on in the bloodline.

Praise the Lord for your life brother. My husband had panic attach and he thought that he was having a heart attach. Even though he is not a Christian yet that experience help me to get very close to the Lord. It was amazing see the Lord bringing people to our rescue. He had the medicine for a while and now he do not need anymore. The Lord is faithful!!!
I feel so much better. I felt like I was much less because I have anxiety and I take a pill. God brought me across your testimony to understand what I'm going threw. My phone is a distraction from my anxiety but instead of picking up my phone im going to pray. Thank You Jesus!!!!!
That "sozo" stuff he mentioned is borderline new age! I'll never forget the time a person from sozo laid hands on me and wow my spirit rebuked it! I immediately took it to the cross and that following day God answered and confirmed why what is in me rejected that stuff..... It's mind blowing to see how the new age is slowly creeping into the church.
Same experience in church culture ministry!!! I felt like This morning Holy Spirit said to me. “I’m leaving the church building to where all that’s left is systems of religion. Individuals will feel like they are in my will because they bought into the system. I am calling the church “ ecclesia “ to mass repentance for loving their religious culture over me!!!”

I appreciate your testimony. As someone who also suffers with mental illness (PTSD), I rebuked my psychiatric doctors harshly and I have refused medication. Your testimony caused me to reconsider my stance.
It’s important we don’t judge each other’s journey. What works for someone else may not work for you! What resonates with me is what you said about compassion, and medication. Thank you for sharing! 🙌🏻

God Bless you for your truth! The truth will set a lot of Christians, “feelers” like me, FREE! I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I haven’t taken medicine for about 4-5 years, although I’d previously taken medicine for 20 years. Some days I do feel torture but I press on and sometimes I do wish the lord would just heal me or just take me, but plead he keep me filled and alive for my family, but I feel so exhausted sometimes. You took the words out of my mouth, sometimes I just need something that takes the edge off me. I just wanted so much to not take them is all. I’ve been okay for the most part but some days I feel like I take it out on people close to me and feel like I’m failing them and God. Im going to try medicine again or consider it. I just don’t want some of the side effects too, but this gives me a place of peace I needed as a sister in Christ. I love your heart. I exercise now to fight it too,
My husband is having major mental issues which landed him in jail recently. Please be praying for him. They are trying to find a diagnosis. I’m praying for a supernatural healing but I’m also praying for God to help him through the right medications.

I was 29 when my husband left me with 3 small children. I went into deep depression and was trying to raise kids, work and just function. Not sure why but I also felt shame in seeking help. Interestingly, God sent someone, I think he was an angel, I only seen him twice. Once when I brought my children to a little park. I was staring at nothing while the children played. He talked to me about my problems. It was some weeks later, I took the day off of work and went to the beach. As I lay in the sun, I cried for a long time and was thinking all I had to do was keep walking into the ocean to end it all. Of course I couldn't leave three small children with no one as my husband wasn't interested in even seeing his own children. As I was walking back to my car, the same man was sitting on a bench and asked me to sit down. He told me how much God loved me and how blessed I was. There were people going through things much worse. That was the last time I saw him. Eventually my mother went through a time of fasting and prayer for me and I was healed of the depression. It is a shame that we suffer when there is help out there.

The testimony hit home for me. While I’m not on medication, I can relate to the childhood experiences he mentioned and having anxiety and depressive episodes as an adult. Even after becoming saved, I still struggle with these areas. Getting disconnected from social media is also the best thing you can do sometimes, especially when you’re on your walk with God. Loved this testimony!!!

I don't claim to be anything special but I do have a gift that our Papa give to His children. My message to Chris: you're still in a spiritual battle. Have no fear because Jesus fights for us. I see you're wanting to understand and seeking answers to every events and situations from what you've seen, heard and dealt with. I tell you my Brother, some things of this world and the spiritual world is not for us to understand, you will only see it through Jesus's eyes. It is NOT to our understanding so please do NOT focus on that. With your mind and heart focus on the word of God and Jesus alone. Your answers will be there. Leave everything else to God because it will hinder your walk with God. Chris you're the beginning of this battle, I pray you will have an amazing break through. If you mean physically no, we obviously come and go and all have to go about our day but I couldn't imagine not focusing on Jesus for almost all day and I mean like listening to Christian music because there is all types now of Christian music that is made so well and not corny at all, every genre has a Christ version that motivates you and exites you or relaxes you, and then good Christian movies, documentaries, shows, testimonies on RUclips, other amazing Christian videos you can find that are informative, educational, entertaining and even kid ones, lots of children ones actually, and sermons. It doesnt mean what you're thinking. You just have all you do be for God's glory and guard your gates:ears and eyes and mouth from anything that could hurt you spiritually and/or physically and it should not ever always be a forced or feel burdensome thing, you fall so in love that you'll be focused almost all your awake hours on Him and so if you watch something funny or entertaining that let's say is like a funny fail video on RUclips or something funny someone shows you, it doesnt mean to just mute that out and stare at rhe wall and just only think of Jesus, it can't be something religious, a tradition, a forced thing. It becomes natural and so amazing, you will have to go about your life doing lots of different talks with people and errands to run and things to do but He becomes the center of all we do and you'll not have to or try to but will just be always focused on Him and full of His peace and joy that you can't be focused on other things. Beautiful testimony!!! The church is disillusioned to believe that medication isn't necessary. My mother's family(she had 6 siblings)was a believing family. I loved my mother. She was diagnosed as diabetic in 1996 at 50 years old.She never took care of herself. The diabetes damaged her kidneys. She was advised to get dialysis. She refused.She wanted to be healed.She developed kidney failure,several mini strokes and she had a rare blood cancer. She died in 2018. I wrote this because we have to understand that healing doesn't come the way we want it to. That has to stop. The Most High will heal you the way that he wants to heal you.It's not always an instantaneous healing. Take your prescribed medications.

I have constantly felt guilty over not "trusting god" in healing me with my ssd and seeking treatment. At some point I would stop looking at a cochlear and wearing my hearing aid cause I felt shameful. Tysm for this message.

Bro I can relate to you. I developed anxiety after I was stressed at work. One day I had vertigo while sitting in the car waiting for the stop light and I developed fear after that. Long story short, the doctor gave me antivert medicine but I realized that there is something more behind the panic attack. I knew I need to figure out the real problem rather than patching it.
The Bible says that we don’t struggle with flesh and blood but spiritual forces.
God spoke to me in multiple ways. He convicted me of the strongholds and bondages i have in my life, although i was already a christian. With His power and my willingness, I humbled myself and kneel down and surrender all ungodliness in my life including pride, excessive phone gaming and internet, watching sensual shows, and things that satisfy the flesh. Every single thing. Those are idols. All God need was for me to hand over them to Him so He can break the chain. EVERY stronghold has a demon spirit attached, that spirit has a legal right with our soul either to torture us here or afterlife. With the grace of God, He broke those bondages.
Of course temptation is still around but my Spirit is now stronger than my flesh, that is the power of the Holy Spirit. He who is in us is stronger than the world, and He defeated the world already to set us free.
I’ll tell you honestly, you are right, that phone and social media is bad…because is indeed the devil’s playground. It’s not called Apple for no reason, you can’t resist but to eat it. Be in the world and the world will love you as their own. I left the world (world wide web) already and i have PEACE that Jesus promised, that in Him there is peace. I guarantee you that it will set u free from depression, if you draw closer to Jesus and leave the world. Jesus said if you love the world then automatically, no matter how u defend ur faith, u hate Him. No one can serve two masters. God bless u bro.

I’m so grateful for this man’s testimony! I myself am in ministry and from time to time- depression presents itself and I have to fight.. it’s not easy to admit it because it seems that people do judge you or try to put a quick bandaid on it and it doesn’t work! I thank God for your naked truth.

I felt miserable and guilty for taking pills, the truth is I can't stand the pain and all this storm, one day I decided to quit because I was afraid of addiction but the doctor told me to be humble and accept the help, I have told God that it shows that without him I cannot walk alone, without him I am in misery, I keep praying for healing, for 23 years changing in this agony, I had a period that I felt relieved but I relapsed due to divorce and things, thank you for sharing your testimony, I feel much compassion for all of us who are struggling with this.
I love you, may God give us strength and let us not lose faith as many have lost it.
I pray for those who have left, the truth is that no one wants to commit suicide just to get out of that brutal suffering.

Thanks for sharing your testimony, I am a missionary pastor, unfortunately over the past year I began to struggle with depression and mental illness, I had to take my pride away and get help! I definitely believe in God’s healing 💯 but at the same time I am now on medication.

I feel you brother. I am going through this same season right now. I was full of anxiety, depression and had considered ending it all. I always carried a fear of being knocked down. Then Lord then revealed to me as he has shown us himself the Lamb will get knocked down but gets back up a lion with fire in his eyes. With that he lead me to my saving Grace, a celebrate recovery group. What a blessing. A little over a month ago I just completed the celebrate recovery step study and gave my testimony in front of the whole church on Mother’s Day. The lord gives us all our victories in different ways as he let Lazarus die before his healing came. We will overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony Thank you for sharing your testimony brother. I could feel your faith and passion for the lord through it.

I can only imagine the level at which the earthly body and mind are drained and exhausted when the Lord uses you at the magnitude that you have been used. You can have the strongest faith on this planet, but earthly suffering exists and sometimes medicine is necessary. God bless you💕🙏🏻

I'm so glad he is putting this topic of depression and anxiety out there. I was diagnosed with clinical depression/anxiety as a teen. I'm 49 years old still dealing with it. I've been baptized and filled with the holy ghost over 20 years ago. Even though I've heard God audibly speak to me and had tangible experiences with God, I live with depression symptoms because of a diagnosed disorder. GOD HELPS ME WORK THROUGH IT BUT HAS YET COMPLETELY TOOK IT AWAY. I'm so sick of Christians not understanding and thinking I dont have enough faith, ect🙄🙄 I believe in living holy and not even trying to holy has took this away from me. I'm at the conclusion that God allows suffering and some things God will not take away and he will walk through it with us as it's our own cross to bare🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Love you, pastor. I am fully understand that. Thanks God who helped me get through my severed depression. I believe in the power of praying and worshipping, especial before for going to bed at night.

Thank you for being brave and talking about this very important subject! I needed to hear your testimony! I've always been super cautious about taking any medication and still am. I'm no longer youthful and have a serious brain injury, so there are some medications that I have to take. Like you, I go through times where I try to see if I'm healed yet and don't take them, but still need them. I know God will heal me in His time. Thank you for reminding me that I don't have to be ashamed.

Thank you!!!! ❤️ Yes He can heal and does but also uses Doctors to help. I used to have seizures and would not be able to breathe and He saved me then had mini epileptic seizures and also struggled with manic depressive bipolar disorder. I had to use medication to help me but always prayed and believed that I could be healed if He chose to do so. I did reach a place where I was content but that was after much struggles and laying it down. I always struggled with people in church because of the hurtful words but I dove in and depended on Him. I’m so blessed that He chose to heal me and I don’t have seizures I don’t have bipolar. Now I love to tell people when they ask or bring it up. ❤️Thank you so much for sharing

May The Lord bless you for transparency. This will free many that are dealing with condemnation and shame while dealing with mental conditions. It can make a person disqualify themselves...but that's a lie. In Christ there is NO condemnation. He calls us, qualifies and justifies us.
