I watched your Pipe Masters heat live at my office last week. The surf was barely existent and there wasn't hardly any set waves to surf during your heat! Mavericks was freaking sick when you got there! Looking forward to some more carnage from that day. It was at least 25-30' faces. Keep up the awesome videos Koa! :)

Todd i’m born and raised in hawaii as well but never really liked to talk pidgin. ill say some things like bra and other random shit here and there. but i always preferred to speak and sound proper.

Todd, Koa’s father Eddie also speaks pidgin. To me it sounds very effeminate.
Los was raised in a very gentrified and haolified North Shore as opposed to his brother who conversely was raised in a North Shore that was predominately local and working class. As a 68 grad ( guys who pioneered big wave-riding in the islands taught at my school) of a local high school who left Hawaii my 30s for Calf it’s a value judgement as to whether Hawaii and the the North Shore in particular is better off as a result of there socioeconomic and cultural changes.

Can you show people to the different ways to pop up on a surfboard please? I'm a beginner Surfer aggressively trying to move from soft-top to longboard and eventually down the fun shapes and hopefully one day not too far in the future shortboards but I know the pop-up is very different when doing it on shortboards. I have watch RUclips videos on the chicken wing method and jumping from the thighs which is very hard and planting toes into the pad and stepping forward with the dominant and I just want to know what do most professional Surfers do and what do you like to do? For the pop-up. Thanks!!!!
