I'm getting a lot of comments complaining about the pattern not being free! If you read the Ravelry description, you'll see there's a 100% off code right at the top meaning the pattern is available for free. If the code isn't working, do let me know so I can fix it.

New knitters really need some one like you to give them the confidence they need to start a sweater. I will be buying your pattern at full price so knitters on a tight budget can take advantage of the free one. Your work need to be paid, very generous of you to give us the options.

Hi Florence! This Step by Step series is tremendously helpful! Thank you for all the time, effort and care you’ve given to it. You are quite a natural teacher. Your Step by Step Cardigan tutorial is so thorough and inspiring that I ordered the suggested yarn right away. I’m still waiting for that order but blindly confident that I will love my sweater and the process of making it. I even purchased a sweater quantity of Noro Madara in Kigishi, a vibrant teal, at my local yarn shop yesterday in anticipation of this pattern. The entire line is gorgeous. It was difficult to pick a color. I went out of my comfort zone with something bright but I’m very tempted to go back for the soft pink color today. 😂

Thank you so much to do tutorial for knitting, I’m a person who’s always start jumping in work not start to learn with stitches so tutorials are really important and not so much knitting tutorials on RUclips. After jumping into the tutorial, follow the video then I start to understand how it’s done and then it’s make sense to buy patterns because patterns are not video tutorials. Thank you so much again for your tutorial ❤

I’m a crocheter, and for years I’ve tried learning how to knit and failed because I was trying to learn the continental way of knitting, just two days ago I watched a RUclips video and learned the English traditional way of knitting, and everything just makes sense now. This cardigan will be my first big project and your tutorial is just amazing! Thank you so much both for the pattern and this detailed video! This is just a great quality tutorial and I am so happy that I found it! ❤

I’m not a new knitter but this is the first cardigan I made that actually fits me perfectly! Either we have similar proportions or you’re a genius designer or probably both. The sleeves are roomy enough to layer but not enormous, which is usually where patterns don’t work out for me. It was my first time making this sort of button band and the video was so helpful. I’ll definitely be buying more of your patterns, and will upload pictures of this cardigan on ravelry when it’s finished and blocked ☺️

I made one of your other sweaters a year or two ago, as my first ever sweater as a new knitter. I am now attempting this one (for the second time as I ripped out my first attempt well past the sleeve division)… as a still beginner and not much improved knitter. I find crocheting so much easier, but I learned that as a child. The hardest part is correcting a mistake I discover a row or more later, and losing stitches on accident, then I am basically stuck without the ability or knowledge to fix it.
Thank you for the easy to understand and follow pattern and video demonstration! You are very talented and lovely ❤

Florence, this video gave me kinda lightbulb over the head (like in older cartoons) moment, that I'm doing magic loop way too difficult for myself and that's why I'm getting ladders no matter how hard I try. My yarn had just way to long of a distance to go for how tight I knit, and the way you do it is definitely shorter, I need to try it. That could be also a fun day because I knit continental 😂 Thank you for the tutorial, I might be knitting this cardigan one day, I like the design a lot. I also learnt many important things ❤ And I finally understood the double knitted button band! I thought that this day will never happen 😂

Another wonderful tutorial. I’ve happily paid for the pattern having gotten so much out of the jumper tutorial (my first knitted garment(s)). Thank you for doing this. Like the first step by step it will likely result in two cardigans being made as the first will be horrible but somewhat recognizable, and the second passable, I hope. For future videos if you were to explain the way that shaping works (German short row on necklines for example) that would be lovely. I think I kind of understand it but would love to verify how that works. (Forgive me if it was in the first step by step as I did the very easy version, but don’t recall seeing it on the video). Well done!

I’m on the magic loop thingy of the sleeve. I’m sooooo pleased you’ve done this video cos I’d never have got anywhere near this far without it. 💋💋💋
BUT doing the one side and starting the second side, I couldn’t get the tension right so ended up with a section down the middle of the sleeve shoulder of wonky tension so I decided to just keep the side with the working yarn on the needle and fiddle with the other needle and the tension is FAR better. Just a suggestion.

Hi Florence! Thanks SO much for this wonderful resource. I've learned so many "new-to-me" techniques that most other patterns use. The "magic loop" you showed, I always thought it was some 'magical' technique that one uses, only to discover that I was already using it (instinctively) when I had longer cables than the stitch count required for certain projects 😂 Thanks again for sharing your skill with beginners like myself. Much appreciated😍

Thank you so much for Al, you do with these patterns and video it is amazing. I have knitted two cardigans and one jumper I loved doing them.
I really love the way you say that it can be knitted using drops yarn as it is affordable. I love knitting and I can knit a lot of items if I use drops but unfortunately I would only be able to knit very very few if I used expensive yarn.
I am definitely not saying that expensive yarn is not worth it (I wish I could use it) but drops suits me.
Please please keep saying suggesting cheaper alternative yarns can be used.

I am somewhere around time stamp 1:15:00 in the discussion of the double knitted button band. I am trying to understand whether there are actually two ends of yarn that are being used alternating to knit each side of the double knitted band, or is it a tail and the yarn from the ball and only one strand is being used to work the button band? Is there another double knitted button band tutorial I could also watch to make sure I understand? Thank you so much!

Hi Florence I just found your channel and I love how you knit and your tutorials are easy to follows. I'm so excited to start your cardigan pattern, this will be my very firts cardigan that I'm going to knit. Finding this particular yarn on US Etsy makes it a lot better for me as well. I will be trying to knit this cardigan for myself and when I get the hang of it I'm going to make more for gifting on coming Chrismas. I'm happy to support you so I don't mind paying for the pattern. Thank you
